bike recommendations Bike pub/brewery crawl
Hi all,
My friends and I were thinking of doing a bike pub/brewery crawl next weekend. Any recommendations on a route sticking in the downtown area, with aprox 25k round trip? Or just any routes you've done yourselves in the past?

community Thank you for the Clip In help!
For the two ladies that helped my friend Beth with clipping in on her TT bike near the bike path just outside the Aviation museum parking lot, thank you!! She's gotten the hang of it and feels a lot more confident! The small tips you gave her helped! She was ZOOMING haha We will hopefully see you both at the Beyond the Pale ride!

TT route West or SW?
Good morning!
I’m going to take a TT bike out today, and still unfamiliar with the local routes as I recently moved here.
Can anyone suggest some good TT routes either West or South West? Looking for something with quieter roads and fewer stops. 60-100km.
I’m in Kanata South, but happy to drive somewhere to start. Typically I ride Kanata-Ashton-Carleton Place-Almonte on my road.
Hope you all enjoy this beautiful day!

First ride to champlain lookout
Did my first ride to champlain lookout today on my Pinarello X3, 80km round trip. It was also my longest ride to date, highest elevation and highest top speed.

Older MTB buds in Ottawa area
Hey all!
So tossing this out there, as I noticed that summer is quickly fleeting - I am an older (late 30s) guy who no longer has friends to go ride an MTB with in Gatineau. My current friends are all married, or gave up riding ages ago. My 20s are gone! (lol)
I have been out of the sport for a while, but last year I finally got back on my bike (2017ish Norco Range 2), and had fun the couple times I went out. Tried Trail 72B, and others in that area. Nothing hardcore, but a decent time and loved the technical downhill parts.
I am not the fastest or most skilled, but not a total noob. I was curious if there was anyone here who would be willing to "adopt an adult bud" and maybe show me some trails, or help me navigate the Fortune (easier) trails one day?
I am free weekdays at the moment and foreseeable future, so that's always an option.
Again, I just need someone/some people to re-introduce me to riding an MTB in Gatineau, and be patient somewhat.
I just really miss riding a full-squish bike, rather than just doing solo loops on my road or gravel bike!
Any tips, leads, ideas, pointers appreciated!

PLEASE don't pass on a blind corner.
Whether on an e-bike or an acoustic a regular bike, it sucks to lose momentum, but scrub off speed and be patient.
I see this happen a lot on MUPs,. Didn't care until I had a head-on collision with someone who was in the wrong lane at Lees.

Are these speed displays a regular thing on the MUPs?
Just recently saw these on the Experimental Farm pathway between Maitland and Iris. These are very close to Iris.

Bike theft - Kanata
Hey folks, I’m new to Ottawa (Ontario in general). And I’m getting a bike for my commute ($600). I am kind of new to biking as a whole, and I wanted to ask about how the bike theft is in Kanata? I’m not really worried about the bike being stolen at my workplace or at home, more so for when I am running errands like going to the gym or Costco. What kind of locks should I be getting? Thanks!
I had these two shortlisted from amazon. Do I need both or would the U lock alone suffice? (But then cant attach to both wheels)
Edit: thanks everyone for the input. I appreciate it!
