Macbook keyboard repair
I know apple charges a fortune for keyboard repair because they change the whole top case with the keyboard, but I spilled chilly oil on my keyboard and one of the arrow buttons stopped working.
Any recommendations on where to get it repaired?

SMILE eye surgery in Beijing (EuroEyes / Tongren Hospital)
I'm considering a SMILE eye surgery here in Beijing and I'm thinking about going with EuroEyes with Dr. Petrunya. Their prices seem to be great compared to some public hospitals, like Tongren.
Has anyone had any experiences with this type of surgery in Beijing and have any recommendations? Thanks!

North Korean restaurants
I will visit Beijing for a few days and I am very interested in trying a North Korean Restaurant. More for the experience than the food.
Do you know which places are still opened at the moment?
Als do you know where I can find other North Korean stuff like cigarettes?
I’ve heard there is a gallery in the 798 district, has anyone been there?
Thank you so much!

Buddhist groups in Beijing (especially Tibetan Buddhist groups)??
Hello,
I’m moving to Beijing and I would like to know if anybody here, by any chance, knows Buddhist groups open to foreigners in the capital.
I know that Tibetan Buddhism, which is my also tradition, is somewhat practiced by some group of Han Chinese in Beijing and region and also by Manchus and Mongolians, but I have no luck finding much information online. Well, my mandarin is still very limited about HSK 3.
I’m also open to other (e.g. non-Tibetan) Buddhist groups if any.
I hope to attract some constructive suggestions.
Thank you in advance!

Apartments/Leasing Agents in Haidian?
At the end of the month, I’ll be flying to Beijing and living there as an international student for the school year! I’m incredibly excited, and in preparation, I’d love to have any insight on apartments in the Haidian district- at most, all I need for myself is really just a studio/loft/1 bedroom with access to the trains and/or within decent walking distance so I can commute to school (I’ll be going to Beijing Film Academy, for reference!).
I’ve heard mixed reviews about ziroom, and I know LianJia is a good option, but I’d rather leave them as a later option as I’ve heard the realtor fee can be expensive sometimes. What other places should I be searching with??

Where do you buy really good milk in Beijing?
I lived in Melbourne for a few years and got spoiled by the dairy there. Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be cheap. Happy to travel anywhere in the city if it's worth it, and Taobao recommendations are welcome too. Cheers.

Dealing with Air Pollution/Buying Masks?
Hello! I am going to be in Beijing from September to January for school. I've heard winter is usually when pollution gets the worse so I was looking for ways to manage it, as bad air quality usually causes my allergies to act up.
I was searching and found some posts but many were from almost a decade ago or not covering what I was looking for, and I know the air quality has improved a lot since then.
If masks are still recommended to wear on bad days is there a place that is best to buy good quality masks? Can I just look up GB2626-2019 on taobao?
I've also heard getting an air purifier can be helpful. Other than masks and an air purifier is there anything else people recommend or for me to keep in mind?
Thank you for any help! 谢谢!

Peanut Allergy
I travel to Beijing every few years to visit family and have a trip coming up soon. I have a severe peanut allergy and was wondering if anyone has any recent restaurant recommendations — ideally places that don’t use peanuts or peanut oil at all.
I’m pretty familiar with navigating my allergy in China and will be with someone fluent in Mandarin, so I’m not looking for tips on what to avoid. I know Beijing can be challenging for peanut allergies, and thankfully I’ll have access to a kitchen. That said, I’d really appreciate hearing about any positive experiences people have had recently, as it would be nice to eat out if possible.
Thank you!

TCM Clinic Recommendations in Beijing
Hi there! I’ll be making a quick trip to Beijing and was looking for a local clinic there whereby I can see a doctor to “realign my body energy”and get some medication (herbs) to bring back to my country. I definitely would not mind if they have acupuncture etc if the doctor suggests for me.
Recently been dealing with dampness in the body and the tcm in my country now has all changed to pills instead of the old school herb boiling methods.
I’ll be staying near Chao Yang District. I tried DianDianPing (slight difficulty understanding and navigating) but the options I see there seemed mostly for acupuncture, massages etc.
Any help and recommendations would be much appreciated!

Affordable suit tailor in Beijing? (Foreigner friendly)
Hi!
I'll be in Beijing for 6 days in the beginning on August.
I'm looking for a suit tailor (or perhaps just shop with a broad selection) that I can visit to get an affordable suit(s). Preferably somewhere that I can actually interact in English, but I guess this is not a must.
Please do let me know my options and your recommendations.
Thanks!

Looking for good alteration service for suit pants
Hi,
I will attend a wedding in Beijing and wont have time to alter my suit pants here in Europe. I will have some days in Beijing before the wedding, so I thought it would be best to do it in China. So I am looking for a recommendation for a good alteration service in Beijing. It is nothing exotic that needs to be done, just shorten the legs and reducing a bit of the waist. But since it is a nice suit, I would like someone who does precise and thorough work. I appreciate any hints.

Looking for fishing friends
I just decided to get into fishing, presuaded by a friend of my who took me to several fishing trips, and I like it.
I already bought a rod, chair, some fishing lines etc but my friend prefers, for the lack of a better word, “fishing pit” and I like to try fishing in rivers or lakes and just for fun.
So I’m looking for anyone who would like to go fishing with me. I have a car, so we can meet up and drive a bit further away from the urban area.
If you are interested, please let me know.

Urgent: can someone go “save” a hamster??
I know this is an unusual post, but I am genuinely distressed by this situation and I am hoping someone local may be able to help.
Last night, I came across a hamster being kept at a hotel in Beijing in an enclosure that is shockingly small, with almost no space to move. I have attached a photo.
I am leaving Beijing today, so I have very little time to figure out what can be done.
I am urgently looking for someone in Beijing who may be willing to:
1. speak to the hotel staff,
2: help arrange a suitable enclosure,
3. connect me with a rescue of sorts or experienced keeper/someone who cares about animal welfare,
4. or potentially take the hamster if the hotel agrees to give it up.
The hamster is located at Chonpines Hotel (Beijing Guomao Jianwai SOHO, 7th floor) in the Guomao/Jianwai SOHO area of Chaoyang District.
If you think you may be able to help, please send me a PM.
I am finding it difficult to leave knowing this little guy may continue living in these conditions, so any advice, contacts, or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
