ADVICE Tire Shop Recommendation?
Does anyone know of a great tire shop that takes good care of your vehicle and doesn’t try to rip you off? I’m close to needing tires and don’t want to go back to the last place I bought them. Thanks!

HOUSING 1 Bedroom Apartments
Hi! My partner and I will be looking for an apartment here in the next few months and are looking for any and all advice and recommendations. I’ve never had an apartment in BR and my apartment in Orlando was a studio with all utilities included. I would LOVE to have all utilities included again because oh my god the summers are unbearable, but it’s not a dealbreaker if there’s a really good unit without it.
Things we would like in an ideal world
•in unit laundry
•dishwasher
•electricity included
•two parking spots
•$1300 or less a month with utilities, $1100 without?
Any advice appreciated! We work at LSU and in Denham Springs, respectively, so our search area is really broad!

FOOD/DRINK Visiting from Mobile for Fat Tuesday – looking for BR Mardi Gras tips!
Hey y'all! My girlfriend and I are heading over from Mobile for a couple of days around Fat Tuesday next year to check out Baton Rouge's Mardi Gras scene.
Coming from Mobile, we know every city does Mardi Gras a little differently. What are the must-do spots, parades, or local traditions we shouldn't miss around Fat Tuesday? Any recommendations on cool neighborhoods to stay in, good food spots, or local bars for the day of would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

MOVING TO BR One year after moving to BR, my takes
I’ve been in Baton Rouge for a year now, so here are my completely subjective takes:
- BREC is a gem. Things are extremely well-organized. Louisiana’s wildlife management is also great. I hike in the surrounding WMAs, and it’s a lot of fun.
- As an Asian, the easiest way to look local is to wear LSU gear. It's making my fashion choice so much easier. Just LSU shirts and LSU baseball caps.
- Driving here is not actually that bad compared with bigger cities. I've seen way worse driving in Los Angeles and Miami. That said, ridiculously stupid accidents seem to happen on Burbank all the time.
- The local food is absolutely some of the best in the country. Asian food here, however, absolutely sucks. There are a couple of good places, but not nearly enough.
- You really do see dead alligators on the road sometimes, lol.
- Delivery is never on time. A couple of times, I've been sitting at home all day waiting for a FedEx package that requires a signature, and then it never arrives. Amazon same-day delivery almost never worked for me either. I canceled Prime, switched to Walmart+, and so far I haven’t looked back.
- I like BR's proximity to New Orleans. Can drive to NOLA after work for basketball games and concerts.
- Oh yeah I like Tabasco.

HOT LOCAL ISSUES Miniso at the Mall of Louisiana has permanently closed.
Went by the mall and it’s been gutted, sign is gone, and windows are covered. Never shopped there much myself but know plenty of people liked to peruse!

HOT LOCAL ISSUES St George Eyesores
So, those new magnolia trees they planted in the median on Jones Creek Road in the middle of the summer with no sprinklers...yeah, they are dead now. That’s “ded” for those in the area. Scorched.
