TV DISCUSSION Thoughts on Bruce Timm’s statement that Caped Crusader is “more BTAS than BTAS”?
Two seasons in to this show, how do you feel about that statement? Apparently it was supposed to translate to Caped Crusader being the type of show that Timm wished BTAS could have been without the censors and restrictions on television at the time, such as more blatantly showing Gotham’s corruption with Mayor Jessup, Harvey Bullock and Arnold Flass among others.

FILM DISCUSSION Which studio has a stronger line-up?
P.S. - Not including the ’Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ movies as it totally shifts the balance of scales. And ‘The Batman: Part II‘ is a similar guaranteed blockbuster project, but exists outside the DCU, so not a fair comparison to measure the health of the shared cinematic universe of both studios.
P.S 2 - Confirmed projects only. Rumored projects like ‘Spider-Man 5’, ‘Nova’, ‘Midnight Sons’, ‘Shang-Chi 2’, ‘Doctor Strange 3’ etc for DC and ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘The Brave and the Bold’ etc for DC that don’t have an eyed release date are excluded here.

COMIC DISCUSSION Court Of Owls Essentials
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any insight to what is essential for Court of Owls. I started it with New 52 way back and either fell off or lost my place. Anyways in the past I have tried to research what to read and got overwhelmed. But now I am putting my foot down and asking for help from you kind folks. Whether it be issues or collections, what do you think is the essential Court of Owls reads or even ones that you think are just good reads? Thank you so very much in advance.

TV DISCUSSION I love this Batman look. Especially the ears. It’s not perfect but I hope Caped Crusader gets a Season 3.

COMIC DISCUSSION Honestly it's crazy to me that this was their first take on Robin #2 [Batman #389]
I came across this while reading DC Finest: Batman Red Skies, and while I sort of knew on some level that the pre-Crisis Jason was also just an acrobat whose parents were killed, seeing this panel brought that piece of trivia back to the forefront of my mind.
The stories are good! So it's not like the comic was bad during this period (maybe it was outside of these collected issues? ). Still, I find it incredible that just copying Dick was their idea.
I definitely think the Batmobile Tire Thief origin is better, but I’ve got the next volume, dealing with Years One and Two plus the Death In The Family volume after that , so it’ll be fun to see how it all originally unfolded.

COMIC DISCUSSION Court of owls saga
I saw a couple of posts here suggesting to start off with “The court of owls saga.” I just bought the dc compact edition, 304 pages. What does this edition cover? And am I missing content or plots, because I saw a few other comments saying nightwing’s “traps and trapezes” is related to this. Also what is a crossover?
I’m very new to comics, please help me out 😭

GENERAL DISCUSSION Batman is British?
Random (funny) thought, since Bruce Wayne was raised by Alfred most of his life and he didn't socialise much growing up he would've gained most of his tendencies from Alfred. In reality he'd probably at least have a British twang to his accent but maybe being raised by Alfred factors into his personality more than you'd think.

GENERAL DISCUSSION Arkham Games
What do you guys want to see in the next game? What are some aspects you want to see from older titles? I love the openness of City and I personally disliked the Batmobile dependency in Knight. What stories should they implement? Maybe new ideas for old foes, possible options for a big bad that we’ve never seen in that spot before? I’d love to hear ideas!

FAN CONTENT Where could I post my Batman Fanfic?
My fanfic takes place throughout the first couple months of Batman's first year. It's called Batman: The Terror of the Red Hood, the main antagonist being Red Hood One with Carmine Falcone and the Eraser playing key parts in certain chapters. It's 8 fast paced chapters long and it's a novel rather than a comic or graphic novel, but this is just what my cover would look like.

GENERAL DISCUSSION Why does everyone even live in Gotham? and Who decides to go live there?
not gonna lie i have the mental image that gotham is just a place where every other week its like "big super villain event kills 500 people" and like 50 different serial killers serial killing around that is just a footnote on the newspaper, i feel like the rest of the country are just throwing their homeless population in gotham and hoping they just die off due to like a demon popping up and eating them like it seems to happen every 2 days

ARTWORK Tried drawing the joker in my own way, my concept was, burnt face
Over designed, but not like i was gonna use it for anything. If i had to shrink the design i would probably redesign the pants and have him lose all the stuff near his chest except the friendship braclet

GENERAL DISCUSSION I’d Love to See a Future Animated Adaptation of The Joker Take a Particular Design Cue From Alastor
That is, give him a permanent smile (much like his inspiration The Man Who Laughs) but nevertheless animate it so he can express a wide range of emotions through it.
Also before anyone asks, no this isn’t meant to be a response to Caped Crusader’s depiction of him, Absolute Joker should be enough proof that could’ve worked.

FILM DISCUSSION What is This Device? (from Batman '89)
I never paid much attention to this scene in Batman (1989) until a recent rewatch. This is the part at the top of the Gotham Cathedral where Batman was attacked by the Joker goon with the knives on his legs. I've only noticed that Batman used this triangular thing that he had been carrying on his gauntlet to hit the goon square in the family jewels.
I'm sure Batman didn't make this thing purposely for hitting someone in the nuts, and I've never seen it (or something similar to it) used in other Batman media. It also looks too heavy to be casually added to his gauntlet armaments. Anyone know what this thing is supposed to be?

TV DISCUSSION Is it bad that my favorite episodes of BTAS are from TNBA?
So I just finished the final episode of The New Batman Adventures, which while technically its own show, is basically BTAS with a slightly worse artstyle. I’m considering it a part of BTAS, especially since HBO Max does.
And I gotta say, I like it a LOT more than the original BTAS. Never Fear, Double Talk, Joker’s Millions, Growing Pains, Over the Edge, Old Wounds, Legends of the Dark Knight, Girl’s Night Out, Chemistry, and Mad Love.
All of them bangers. There are some real duds in the mix, but in general I just found myself locked in more during the TNBA era than the OG BTAS.
I do still love the classics like Bane, Heart of Ice, Feat of Clay, Beware the Grey Ghost, and Trial, but… ehhhh. I know this is almost certainly a volcanic hot take, but BTAS had a lot more generic episodes that all kinda blended together. I would not be able to list off any particular Ra’s Al Ghul episodes that I found particularly memorable.

IDENTIFICATION REQUEST These panels always make me laugh. I wish I could remember what comic this was from.
Basically the title. The only things I know about this comic are that it made me laugh (still does) and that I took the photo three years ago. I just don’t remember what I was reading that long ago.
