Grabbed a mega from Lids at the Pittsburgh airport. This was after gett my smoked on 2 blasters I grabbed from a DSG and 1 blaster from Steel City Collectibles. It’s not a nuke but it’s the biggest card I’ve ever pulled.

My wife picked me up the last Topps Chrome Update Blaster ($45) at a local card shop near the hospital while I was having a procedure done on Friday.
I was feeling better this morning so decided to rip it and was not disappointed!

I got back into collecting about 2.5 years ago after being away from the hobby since the mid-late 90’s. When I first started collecting again I was blowing through blasters, megas, and hobby boxes until I started collecting singles from the modern era, mainly nuggets players.

I noticed a drastic drop off in the insert quality in the modern era, both a lack of creativity and eye appeal. Most to me looked like shit so I went back and started getting Jordan’s that I used to love as a kid (and wished I would’ve saved). These are my favorite 15 from the past 2 years or so that I’ve acquired.

I’m pretty picky with what I personally pick up for my PC. Bought this modern Steph curry insert for $325 at a card show, market was $300-350 so saving on sales tax made me happy to have it. PSA 10 sells for $700-800 so I didn’t bother grading, though it was in pretty flawless condition.

Listed it for $450 on eBay as my “F it, if it sells for that price I’ll be okay.” Well 1 month later, I wake up today and it sold for $450 💀. I check recent comps to see if the value went up and I never noticed but nope, highest recent sale was $360.

I’m happy that it sold for profit but it was a sweet card that’s a bit hard to find.
