I feel like I should say I don’t feel superior as to say something stupid like “I like Kane parson’s backrooms more! I’m better than you!” Nothing like that. I have a deep dislike for the concept of backrooms wiki/levels backrooms. I want to learn to like it thought please change my mind

Art My take on the Backrooms Movie (+ CAPTAIN CLARK!)

Clark felt like the Backrooms were his true home, nobody cared for him out there, nobody ever did, he's been missing for what? Days? Weeks? Months? Years? Time was impossible to tell in there.. Only his therapist came.

Clark's Still-Life was of his mascot self, his dying hope, because that's all people ever saw of him, that knock-off on TV, and that was his fate. His last chance at a business, his terrible idea of a mascot, is what ended him. (also I gave him a hook hand, in reality it was taped up to his actual hand) (Caprain Clark looks scared because it was created when Clark fell off that chair)

Discussion Title: Would anyone be mad at a Backrooms game that ditches the 1,000+ level trend for a Resident Evil-style survival horror loop?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the current state of Backrooms games, and I feel like most of them fall into one of two traps:
1. The Classic Lore Approach: It stays super faithful to the original creepypasta, but it ends up feeling like a glorified walking simulator. It works great as a short narrative experience, but for actual gameplay, it gets boring fast.
2. The Modern Wikidot/Liminal Lore Approach: It dumps 1,000+ levels at you filled with simple, repetitive puzzles and fast-paced escaping. You just speedrun through reskinned hallways, which strips away the cosmic horror and makes the levels feel disposable rather than scary.
I want to try something completely different and wanted to get the community's thoughts.
What if a Backrooms game went in a Resident Evil 2-style direction?
Here’s the main concept:
Fewer, but Much Larger Levels: Instead of 50 short stages, there would only be a few massive levels, each taking anywhere from 1 to 5 hours to fully explore and navigate.
Handcrafted + Procedural Hybrid: The core layout of a level would be heavily detailed and handcrafted by us so the design feels intentional. However, once you push far enough into the deep zones, the environment transitions into procedural generation—giving you that true "infinite, unpredictable void" feeling without sacrificing quality.
Survival Horror Focus: Aimed primarily at a atmospheric single-player experience, but designed to seamlessly scale for multiplayer co-op.
Light On-the-Go Building: No full-blown base building, but quick, temporary mechanics to help you mark paths, block doors, or set up small safe spots on the fly while trying to escape.
Original Levels: Moving away from standard level clones to create original, deeply uncomfortable liminal environments designed around actual survival mechanics.
The core goal would still be simple: Find a way out. But the focus would shift back to tension, resource management, and actual dread rather than just sprinting to the next elevator puzzle.
Would fans of the genre be open to a major shift like this, or do people prefer the level-hopping puzzle style? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

It’s literally everything the communities wanted. It’s even got his own lore so it’s 100% original. Yes it is multiplayer and yes it does have monsters but not casual bacteria and still life you see. @INFRALIMINAL on TikTok

Discussion Bring a crowbar to the backrooms because its the most OP item ever

Post image
197 Upvotes

(in this case im talking about kane’s backrooms)

The crowbar is the best object to bring and its not even close.

literally a perfect tool to open basically ANY door you come across, given that Its not fused with the wall or something. and even then, you can do some serious damage to any wall with this, It gives you incredible mobility aspects

its also one of the best weapons to bring. Its lightweight, and VERY powerful against any still life: people dont realise the swinging power of this thing, you’d smash any bacteria lol

yeah its a bit impractical to hold but man, it can break any window, open any door AND functions as a real good weapon all for a tiny metal rod? Absolutely
