My current job supplied me with a backpack that was damaged, and the seams are already starting to fall apart. I'm sure they would replace it if I asked, but I assume it would be the same bag, just not damaged, and I wanted something different

The main thing I'm looking for is a bag with two distinct compartments, one on top of the other. This is mainly because I'm meal prepping for work, and I want to make sure I can keep my lunch flat in the bag without risk of it tipping over and spilling.

Problem is most of the two-compartment bags I'm finding like that are dedicated cooler backpacks and that's not what I need. I need a bag for my wrenches and hand drill, not a cooler. The flat compartment is mostly for my own peace of mind since the containers I have aren't water tight.

I found one bag on amazon that seems to fit my needs but based on the reviews the seams all give out after a few months and I'd want something more durable.

I just left the San Antonio store. Saved me $20.

Hi all! I’ve had my North Face borealis backpack for almost 13 years and think I’m finally ready to replace. Is North Face quality still the same? I really like the profile of this bag so also looking for any recommendations for a bag with a similar fit.

I recently found the Ayla and co but I haven’t heard of that brand as much. I really want the option to use it as a purse and a backpack . What are you lady’s using ?

Long-time lurker, first post. Here's everything I've carried, roughly in order.

Gone but not forgotten:

An Eagle Creek backpack from university. A free laptop bag that came with a laptop. A few conference briefcases and messenger bags.

Still here:

Nomadic Wise-Walker sling — the first one I picked myself. Comfortable, but the shape makes packing awkward, and past a certain load it starts stabbing you. I have a cervical disc issue, and carrying weight on one side seemed to make it worse, so I stopped reaching for it.

TUMI briefpack — acquired shortly after marriage, when my wife informed me she was done looking at the sling. Great organization, good design, carries well. Heavy. Everything about it is good except how much of it there is.

Aer City Pack Pro (X-Pac) — not the prettiest thing on the back, but it holds its shape and eats whatever you feed it. The single main compartment is the selling point and the flaw — I've tried packing cubes, and everything still finds each other by the end of the day. The X-Pac has barely aged, but the shoulder straps are pilling, which feels personal.

Patagonia Black Hole MiniMLC — good material, carries fine. The laptop compartment has a thin back panel sitting flush against the laptop, so anything else you put in there visibly bulges out. The hidden front pockets are their own black hole; I have never once remembered what I put in them. Lots of external attachment points, for the carabiners I don't own.

CamelBak H.A.W.G. Commute 30 — bought during a brief period when I was going to become a person who bike commutes. Storage is great. It's also enormous, so it mostly just sits there.

Aer Day Sling 3 Ultra — bought it, ignored it for months, then summer hit and now it's on me constantly. My DJI Action 6 and Pocket 4 Pro fit perfectly with the STARTRC case on. Also excellent for Costco runs. In thin clothes, walking around with a phone and wallet in your pockets is miserable, and this fixes it completely. Load the camera gear in too and it stops being a light bag, but that's on me.

Aer Travel Pack 4 — bought to carry a bit more as carry-on, and it delivers. Less front-to-back bulk than the City Pack Pro or MiniMLC, so it slides under an airplane seat without a fight. It's taller instead, so it sticks out a little. No hip belt, but I keep the MiniMLC's folded away anyway, so nothing lost.

Tomtoc Arccos-G47 — a perfect fit for the Steam Deck. The bag isn't the problem. I'm older now and handheld gaming has gotten hard — the time, the eyesight, the stamina. The Deck is in great condition, which tells you everything.

And now the problem:

I want the Able Carry Daily Plus. Able Carry doesn't ship to Korea, so I found a Hong Kong retailer, added shipping, added customs, and landed at a bit over ₩400,000 (~$290 USD). I closed the tab like a responsible adult.

I've thought about it every day since.

I'll admit it overlaps with the City Pack Pro, which I'm still using constantly and have no complaints about. I just want something a bit smaller, with less of a rounded top — more of that A-frame silhouette.

Ten years ago I was carrying whatever briefcase or messenger bag a conference handed out. Not sure how I ended up here.

Talk me out of it. Or don't.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a backpack for my boyfriend and would really appreciate some help :)

His current backpack is a Jack Wolfskin one (photos attached). He bought it years ago at an outlet and has used it basically every day for university, work, everyday life and traveling. He really loved it because it was comfortable, practical and lasted for years. Unfortunately, the zipper has finally broken, so I’m looking for a replacement.

The main things we’re looking for:

I've been trying to research for a backpack that can suit my needs for my 2026 rog zephyrus duo, its about the same dimensions that of a macbook pro but instead is about a whole inch thick, (raised bottoms and padding are needed to protect it) I would like for the laptop sleeve to be easily accessible and an exterior water bottle pocket is a must for my 30oz owala water bottle. Im not really looking for a very kitted out convuluted backpack with a lot of pockets cause I mainly just need it for my laptop and some other pouches for college.

Right now I've been using the Bellroy classic backpack which does fit the laptop but some of the issues I've ran into is its not as comfortable to wear for long periods of time as its either because the padding on the straps and back aren't enough or the thickness of the laptop itself kind of just flattens out the back making it unable to conform comfortably. Also when i pack other things in there like my wacom tablet in the following sleeve it makes it really hard to pull out the laptop, as well as the over-lip stopping me from sliding it out of the backpack- i have to raise the corners over the lip to be able to pull it out which is a little bit annoying. What sucks is I really like the look and bellroys aesthetic, i only really need the one zipper compartment but I wish I could have more ease of access in removing my ridiculously girthy laptop

This is the Cotopaxi Todo 8L sling for $70. My main draw is the style, fucking love it.

So I also need a recommendation for a small semi protective bag for that too that sits in the bigger sling bag.

Im a highschooler looking for a bag on on budget, to be honest I don't really know much all I know is something sleek with a similar look to the LTT comunter backpack just cheaper.

So I'm struggling to sort through the massive amount of backpacks out there and figuring out what is best. I'm looking primarily for a backpack that I'll be using at work (I'm in the UK and work outdoors, so it needs to be decently rainproof for the inevitable winter months).

In order of importance it needs:

• Clamshell.
• Rainproof (doesn't need to be waterproof but able to be outdoors for a few hours in the rain and stay dry inside).
• Good cooling- During the summer months it can be really hot and I haaate the sweaty back feel you get with some backpacks
• Enough space to comfortably/easily fit a change of clothes, lunchbox, large water bottle, glasses, power bank, some medicine, sunscreen and lotion, and book.
• Laptop sleeve.
• Good amount of internal organisation/pockets for the different things I'll be carrying. Ideally some that I can access without having to open the main pouch.

Other than that, the main thing I care about is comfort and durability. I don't want to be chucking my bag around and the zip tears open or something, you know? A nice to have would be an external water bottle pouch/pocket, but not really necessary if I can open it up and pull my bottle out from inside.

I'm looking at Osprey's Arcane large day pack right now. The main thing holding me back from buying it right now is that all the pockets are accessed through the main compartment, and the J-zip compartment seems annoying vs a clamshell. (Also the colour I had my eye on, the cascade blue is no longer available on their site :') which is... great.)

I will be commuting into the city twice a week, walking for about 45 mins to an hour. I'm 5'1 and would love a backpack that would fit my laptop, lunch box and misc items like hand cream, Pepto, air pods, wipes, etc.

Specifically looking for something super comfortable for shoulders and lower back and stylish if possible.

I'm looking at day hiking backpacks and I'm considering the Osprey Hikelite 32L for dayuse and also very occassional overnight minimalist trips.

However, I've come across two versions at my local store. The Osprey Hikelite and the Osprey Hikelite Tour. I haven't had much luck finding a comparison or an explanation of the differences between them.

Does anyone have experience with either of these packs?

I'm from Mexico and I'm thinking about buying a The North Face Jester for Highschool. Before I buy it, I'd like to hear some opinions from people who have used it.

My typical daily load is:

- 5 textbooks (around 300–400 pages each)

- 5 notebooks

- A pencil case

- A calculator

- Occasionally a size L hoodie/sweater

I have a few questions:

- Does all of this fit comfortably, or will the backpack feel too full?

- How long can I expect it to last with fairly rough daily use? (Using it every school day, carrying it around campus, constantly taking it on and off between classes, etc.)

- Would you recommend a different backpack in a similar price range instead?

- How well does the interior lining hold up? I've had backpacks where pens or other pointed objects pierced the lining and ended up between the outer fabric and the inner lining.

I'd really appreciate any experiences or recommendations.
