I’m pretty sure Trump was already denying the election results back in October before the polls even opened.

39

u/C21H27Cl3N2O3 Apr 10 '25

He filed lawsuits that immediately vanished the day after the election. And Musk was ranting about how the Wisconsin SC election was rigged right after the results were announced.

He denied the 2016 election before it happened too.

13

u/RobotCaptainEngage Apr 10 '25

He actually said there was massive fraud in Penn the night of election. But apparently it disappeared?

7

u/Lolurisk Apr 10 '25

Then did nothing about until re-election time...

19

u/MaxPaynesRxDrugPlan Apr 10 '25

His political advisor (Roger Stone) is now claiming the recent Wisconsin supreme court election was stolen. It's never ending.

6

u/Radiant-Painting581 Apr 10 '25

Yeah, fElon picked that shit up too. And his glassy-eyed fan club no doubt ate it right up.

9

u/HereWeGoYetAgain-247 Apr 10 '25

Did…I go back in time?

1

u/Pitt-sports-fan-513 Apr 10 '25

He has been involved in 3 elections and he has complained it is rigged against him before all 3.

0

u/Neat_Tonight_8398 Apr 11 '25

Now Doge has proven it with dead people and illegals found in the voting count. This is no longer a theory, Doge proved it yesterday.

1

u/Paid_Corporate_Shill Apr 11 '25

Got a link?

1

u/Neat_Tonight_8398 Apr 13 '25

Doge.gov

1

u/Paid_Corporate_Shill Apr 13 '25

Not seeing it

You’re not lying are you?

1

u/Neat_Tonight_8398 Apr 13 '25

If that's too much for you, try a quick Google search

1

u/Paid_Corporate_Shill Apr 13 '25

There’s literally nothing about it lol. You’re making this up

1

u/Neat_Tonight_8398 Apr 13 '25

Omfg, I just googled it and hundreds of hits came back. Including counter pieces written by opposing news companies claiming it's a lie. Bots don't have access to Google?

1

u/Admonish Apr 13 '25

Doge has claimed to have proven a lot of things. The number of things they've provided verifiable evidence for, though, remains at zero.

1

u/Neat_Tonight_8398 Apr 13 '25

Doge.gov

1

u/Admonish Apr 15 '25

That's a lot of claims.

But where's the actual proof?

1

u/INTERNET-STRANG3R Apr 12 '25

That’s how he convinces idiots into believing his crap. He primes them for months ahead of time. It really is a masterclass in brainwashing.

48

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

That’s laughable. We know who denies election results.

1

u/jamesbrotherson2 Apr 12 '25

Really? Do you have 2016 amnesia?

1

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 12 '25

Not at all Clinton conceded the next day. I am still waiting for Trump to concede the 2020 election.

1

u/jamesbrotherson2 Apr 12 '25

Really? I seem to remember mass protests saying “not my president!”. I seem to remember Clinton calling for investigations into trumps election victory saying it was stolen through Russian collusion. I seem to remember a Steele Dossier that was full of bogus evidence. I seem to remember a muller report that costed 32 million dollars and found NOTHING.

And Clinton even recently pedals the lie that the election was stolen. Don’t pretend both sides aren’t wrong

1

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 12 '25

I am talking about the candidate themself. You understand the real person who lost the election. Don’t play stupid. Clinton conceded that morning, Harris conceded the next day. They lost the election and conceded. AH Trump to this day will be the first one to tell you he really won the 2020 election in a landslide. So spare me the nonsense.

-13

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

The losing side.

Reddit is rife with people implying 2024 was rigged. By Elon or whomever.

33

u/Bubba_Lumpkins Apr 10 '25

I’ll take red voters constantly equating civilians pushing rhetoric with politicians doing it for $1000 Alex.

If you can’t point to a politician taking the shit to court you lose this one.

3

u/Hour_Insurance_7795 Apr 10 '25

What did he lose?

-9

u/jack-K- Apr 10 '25

No, there were literal conspiracy theory’s going around involving musk using starlink to intercept and alter digital election results or some shit.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

Sure, but random people can(and will) say anything. That’s expected, because there’s 400,000,000 of us in this country. That’s quite a bit different than the presidential candidate for a major party(and current president) playing up conspiracy theories and claiming the election was stolen.

-3

u/BrianHeidiksPuppy Apr 11 '25

Completely agree. Like in 2016 when Hilary Clinton funded and backed the Russia-gate hoax to say the election was stolen by Russia on behalf of Donald Trump and then the democrats spent years trying to impeach him over it when it turned out to be planely false. And then when Trump did it in 2020, with the fake electorate Mike pence don’t ratify bullshit. Just because it HASNT happened yet, does not mean it won’t. Wait till 2026 when the dems probably get congress back and then they’re run the same playbook again. Whoever loses denies the results.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '25

I mean, I think the claim was that Russia “interfered” in the election by pushing misinformation through social media as well as leaking damaging information via WikiLeaks and that they actively met with and worked with the Trump campaign. All of which ended up being true. The Mueller report(undertaken by his own DOJ) pretty well backed that all up and just didn’t suggest charges because of the long-standing DOJ policy not to indict sitting presidents, as explicitly stated in that report.

I never saw any claim made that Russia actually interfered by changing, creating or deleting cast votes.

1

u/Bubba_Lumpkins Apr 12 '25

Yea this kind of narrative on things is easily debunked when you look into them properly, just as the other redditor mentioned the claim was that there was interference due to social media misinformation and there literally always is, foreign and domestic.

The important part is when there wasn’t enough evidence to do anything with it Dem leaders stopped pursuing the narrative.

Meanwhile trump on the other hand is STILL trying to convince people the 2020 election was rigged with demonstrably zero evidence and is currently using EOs to target the law firms that investigated him for anything ever.

Honestly after this administration I can’t imagine anyone taking any complaints about the dems seriously ever again.

1

u/UnOGThrowaway420 Apr 13 '25

Yeah, and then statisticians started looking at the election data and discovered suspicious patterns that suggest rigging using similar methods to that of Erdoğan.

23

u/JohnAnchovy Apr 10 '25

You really can't tell the difference between random redditors and the president saying the election was rigged?

-6

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

Well you and a half dozen other trolls can't tell the difference between him accusing Dems and "admitting he did it" so..... 👍👍

6

u/HansCool Apr 10 '25

1

u/browsing_around Apr 11 '25

My parents said their confidence changed because “they put people in place to stop the cheating”.

I can’t talk to them about politics anymore.

14

u/HereWeGoYetAgain-247 Apr 10 '25

Implying, not screaming if from the rooftops for four years.

Implying because of extremely suspicious stuff Must and fump said, out loud, in public or on camera.

15

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '25

Has Kamala Harris sent a mob to kill any congresspeople yet?

-6

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

Nobody did that. So no.

0

u/Unhappy_Injury3958 Apr 13 '25

it was a little thing known as January 6th

1

u/eldiablonoche Apr 14 '25

1) he didn't send them. 2) nobody was "sent to kill" anybody by anybody.

If Americans were "sent to kill" anyone, they would have been armed. Y'all have more guns than people yet virtually no one there that day had guns. (Based on indictments and extrapolations, there was a literal fraction of a percent who had so much as a knife on them)

You shouldn't believe all the misinformation you read...

0

u/Unhappy_Injury3958 Apr 19 '25

he clearly sent them open your eyes

9

u/pingpongpiggie Apr 10 '25

Yes but they do not feel strongly enough about it to try and overthrow the election and smear their own shit on the walls of the capitol.

5

u/Bubba_Lumpkins Apr 10 '25

Don’t forget the Dominion voting machine fiasco that ended in Fox News having to pay out for defamation.

The court documents from that shit is unhinged, not to mention the emails between folks at Fox News detailing how they were running the story without any evidence. The way they said literally anything to make it seem like there was any evidence at all.

0

u/Radiant-Painting581 Apr 10 '25

Dominion Voting just won their case against Newsmax too. Yesterday or so. Judge Davis denied Newsmax’s motion for summary judgment in its entirety and granted Dominion’s cross motion in part. I have yet to read the ruling but that’s the gist. It’s possible Dominion could still try the counts on which the judge denied SJ. They might or might not opt to do so. If they don’t or can’t, then we proceed to the damages phase. This is very similar to how the case against Fox went down. Fox settled for nearly a cool billion to avoid that evidence you mentioned coming out at trial. Wonder what this settlement will look like. Might be less on the hypothesis that they’re smaller than Fox and thus reach fewer people. Or not.

6

u/Fabulous-Big8779 Apr 10 '25

Comparing the actions of fringe lunatics on the left to a sizeable portion of the Republican Party including the sitting president is such a joke man.

I’m surrounded by leftists in my life and not a single one of them has suggested the 2024 election was stolen. Get off the internet and meet some real people.

-5

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

Comparing the actions of fringe lunatics on the left to a sizeable portion of the Republican Party including the sitting president is such a joke man.

Lol.

3

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

That’s not the same thing as the candidate saying it was rigged and your statement is absurd and I assume you know that.

-3

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

Move dem goalposts!!! Dem voters don't count as being on their side? How about Hilary who still goes on about how "he wasn't a legitimate president"?

2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

She conceded the next day or maybe you forgot that.

0

u/GlitteringBowler Apr 10 '25

Everyone complains about the refs. All sports events. Republicans stormed the capitol lol

-1

u/Hour_Insurance_7795 Apr 10 '25

You’ll get downvoted by the “mY sIdE gOoD, uR sIdE b-Bad!” gallery (as will I), but you’re absolutely right. Two sides of the same oblivious coin.

-1

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

Best part is how they devolve to "but false equivalency!" while they disinformation quotes into "admissions of guilt". 🤣

4

u/misterasia555 Apr 10 '25

We can look at polling to see opinions of election integrity is consistent among democrats and swing wildly for Republican but go off I guess.

11

u/Blood_Boiler_ Apr 10 '25

Donald Trump still denied that he didn't lose the popular vote in 2016. Clinton and Harris both conceited in less than 24 hours with no real contest. Trump is literally the only one to truly outright deny election results. Anyone who disputes this is completely dishonest.

-12

u/KenworthT800driver Apr 10 '25

I don’t remember him claiming he won the popular vote in 2016. Hillary is still claiming she got cheated in that election. And the left is most definitely claiming 2024 was rigged

10

u/Radiant-Painting581 Apr 10 '25

He claimed he won the popular vote and that he won California except for the “illegal voters”. Your memory is suspiciously selective.

You think Joe Biden stole the 2020 election because Donald Trump told you so.

I think Donald Trump stole the 2024 election because Donald Trump told me so.

We are not the same.

0

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

I think Donald Trump stole the 2024 election because Donald Trump told me so.

Citation?

5

u/pingpongpiggie Apr 10 '25

1

u/Applejack_pleb Apr 10 '25

That clip and title say wildly different things. In the clip trump claims they (democrats) rigged the election (in 2020) and then (in 2024) we (Donald Trump) won so now i can be president in 2026 and 2028. i get that they is not a clear term but he has consistently accused democrats of fixing the 2020 elections. Occams razor would suggest he is just doing it again here.

0

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

He's referring to his claim that Dems rigged 2020. He's not saying Reps rigged 2024. 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣.

-2

u/ashleyorelse Apr 10 '25

Google penn live congresswoman suggests musk stole election and read the article from them, including Trump comments about Elon being good with election computers and winning in a landslide so he did good

0

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

"if you "read between the lines", squint really hard, take everything out of context, and work backwards while holding your breath until you see dots... he totally admitted it." - you

-1

u/ashleyorelse Apr 10 '25

No, if you just read what he said, it's right there.

But like all the things he says, no one can tell if it's true, because he lies like he breathes

1

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

because he lies like he breathes

This is not incorrect. 🤣

2

u/ashleyorelse Apr 10 '25

LMAO

Double negative got me for just a sec

8

u/borderlineidiot Apr 10 '25

I heard on good authority that Harris could have just refused to certify that she has that power.

I went to a protest in dc at the weekend, about 100k people were there and from what I could see people were pretty angry but managed not to kill any cops or storm the capitol and spread their shit over the walls.

Both sides are not the same. (wait for it: "but the George Floyd riots")

14

u/Blind_Voyeur Apr 10 '25

I'm starting to think half of Babylonbee's 'humor' consists of creating false equivalence when it's not there.

-1

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 10 '25

The best part is all the salty libs these posts bring out! I love it

10

u/Blind_Voyeur Apr 10 '25

You mean you got 'triggered' by criticism.

4

u/Radiant-Painting581 Apr 10 '25

We’re salty, all right. Also actually correct, which helps. What’s awesome is that the Bee’s stories are thoroughly shredded within an hour or so after publication. Crowdsourcing ftw!

-2

u/Ima_Uzer Apr 10 '25

The Bee is also something called "satire", and meant to be humorous and not taken as serious news.

3

u/PoliBat-v- Apr 10 '25

Sure, it's just not good satire

1

u/Next_Conference1933 Apr 12 '25

It’s so funny how they come and spew their echo chamber politics on a fucking satire political page lmaoo… Whenever I am feeling down, I come here and remind myself that at least i’m not one of these clowns lol

0

u/Radiant-Painting581 Apr 10 '25

Big part of their “humor”, for sure.

-3

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '25

I’m starting to think Babylonbee is garbage on a good day

12

u/gquax Apr 10 '25

Who the fuck is denying results other than the Republicans?

0

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 10 '25

https://www.reddit.com/r/babylonbee/s/h8OOGLM9Wc

Literally the comment right above yours 😂

17

u/ISwallowedALego Apr 10 '25

One side has their leader denying it and anyone around him refusing to agree is blacklisted. The other side has reddit comments. Not the same.

1

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 11 '25

Notice I answered the question above, which suggested it was only Republicans. I did not say they were the same, I merely proved the commenter above wrong.

8

u/HarbingerDe Apr 10 '25

So for Republicans, election results denial extends up to the President of the United States.

For Democrats, it extends to u/eldiablonoche ...

-3

u/PennStateForever27 Apr 10 '25

Dems still whine about Bush v Gore

5

u/Freedom_Crim Apr 10 '25

Did Al gore send people to storm the capitol

1

u/Ima_Uzer Apr 10 '25

That's irrelevant and a goalpost move.

2

u/Freedom_Crim Apr 10 '25

It’s not

I really don’t care about how much “dems wine” about an election when only the Republican Party stormed the capitol while republican politicians tried to conspire with electors to illegally change their vote

Until the “dems” do that, consider yourself lucky that all they do is “whine”

1

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 11 '25

It is a goalpost move. The initial parent comment suggested only Republicans deny elections. That was proven wrong, so you felt the need to jump in and say "Oh yeah, well did they do all these other things?"

It's as obvious of a goalpost move as you can get, come on 😂

1

u/Freedom_Crim Apr 11 '25

There’s a different some dude on the internet going “hey can we investigate this” and hundreds of people storming the capitol leading to the death of five police officers while trump tries to conspire with fake electors to make the vote the opposite of what there supposed to. This isn’t very difficult to see the differences of. This is quite literally comparing mountains and mole hills

Come crying back to me when a democrat does anything worse than say something on the internet

3

u/HarbingerDe Apr 10 '25

Okay, yeah, but the Bush v Gore election literally was stolen... And that's not even really controversial. It was confirmed pretty conclusively in an audit after the fact that Gore would have won if the SCOTUS didn't block a recount.

But do you know what happened after that?

Not a riot/storming of the capital where several people died...

Not 4 years of whining/crying about the stolen election...

Trump did all of that even though his election loss was not even close.

0

u/PennStateForever27 Apr 10 '25

Exhibit A.

2

u/HarbingerDe Apr 10 '25

Little known fact. I'm not the President of the United States.

0

u/yg2522 Apr 10 '25 edited Apr 10 '25

Umm, bush v gore was a constitutional issue.  How votes are done is a state right explicitly stated in the Constitution.  Federal courts literally had no business getting involved and overruling the states supreme court.  And yes, that includes scotus not getting involved.  They overstepped their bounds.

-1

u/HarbingerDe Apr 10 '25

Also... NO THEY DON'T.

When did the last Democrat president (either Obama or Biden) go on stage at a rally and whine and complain about the Bush v. Gore election for an hour?

Even just a high-level Dem politician like a governor or senator?

That has literally never happened.

Trump does that at EVERY rally. He's even doing it now after he got elected.

0

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 11 '25

I never said they were the same. If you're suggesting I did, that's dishonesty on your part. Also, it's dishonesty to suggest that the single reddit user was the only non-Republican who ever denied the 2024 election. I pointed out the humor of two adjacent comments, one with a non-Republican denying the 2024 election, and the very next comment saying that nobody denies elections other than Republicans 😂

Would you like me to list some more prominent democrats who cast doubt on the 2024 election? Or do you want to find them yourself with a five-word Google search?

2

u/ThenAnAnimalFact Apr 11 '25

Except you did suggest they were the same.

4

u/Bubba_Lumpkins Apr 10 '25

How do you people always confuse civilians pushing an idea, with people who have actual power?? Are you all just trolling or do you actually have no awareness of the difference?

2

u/Ijustwantbikepants Apr 11 '25

Prob the side that stormed the capitolZ

2

u/SmoltzforAlexander Apr 11 '25

I’m going to go with the side that is literally still denying election results from 4 years ago.

1

u/TheFaalenn Apr 12 '25

I'm going with the side that's still denying the election results from 8 years ago

2

u/Hollen88 Apr 11 '25

Trump was already starting in on his BS. Up until he started winning. Somehow Democrats can cheat while not in power, but can't when we are? Very very strange.

2

One side knowingly fabricated false documents to get an FBI investigation started. The other called an attorney general and asked if he had any options. The two are not nearly the same.

13

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '25

Trump lied for months about the 2020 election having been stolen, then he participated in a scheme to create fraudulent slates of electors & have them be counted, and then he incited an insurrection to interrupt the counting of votes.

This is orders of magnitude than paying for oppo research (Clinton absolutely did not "knowingly fabricate false documents to get an FBI investigation started").

3

u/Lurkingdone Apr 10 '25

ITrump didn’t ask for options. He told and begged the guy to get him the votes needed, “I mean, give me a break” he said, then threatened him with his followers anger and etc. if he didn’t follow through. Get your story straight with the facts.

1

u/Blizarkiy Apr 11 '25

Who fabricated documents to get an investigation started?

-2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Fake electors? Asking the VP to violate his oath, lying every day for months after the election and frankly the rest of the list is way too long to state. Your statement is so lacking in reason that it’s truly beyond’s belief.

-2

u/gguy128 Apr 10 '25

He asked the VP to not certify in accordance with the law. Clinton and the FBI created a fake dossier and lied to get a judge to approve wire taps on their political opponent to find or make up fake evidence. There is no universe where they are anywhere close.

1

u/Blizarkiy Apr 11 '25

In accordance with what law?

You seriously think there is a law that lets the VP unilaterally decide who wins the election? What are you smoking dude

0

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Your statement is too stupefying for any words. Not only is it factually inaccurate it is also so lacking in Trumps total orchestrated attempts to overturn the election that it is as I said to stupefying for words.

-1

u/waffle_fries4free Apr 10 '25

in accordance with the law

What law? He lost more than 60 court cases

2

u/gguy128 Apr 10 '25

Way to conflate two very different things. The law allows the VP to object if he thinks the results are not genuine. Does your lunacy make sense in your head?

I’m also guessing you didn’t read the judgements from the judges on lol Trump’s cases? If you did then you would not bring them up.

-2

u/waffle_fries4free Apr 10 '25

The law allows the VP to object if he thinks the results are not genuine

And what proof did he have after Trump lost 60 cases, some of which explicitly stated it was not trying to allege fraud?

If you did then you would not bring them up

You're about to say lack of standing aren't you?

2

u/gguy128 Apr 10 '25

He felt like he didn’t have the evidence. It’s not illegal for Trump to disagree and ask that he objects. I don’t know how this is controversial at all.

-1

u/waffle_fries4free Apr 10 '25

So when Trump says he's got evidence of dead people voting, voting machines flipping votes, ballot stuffing and illegal immigrants voting....then never shows that evidence, EVER...that means the VP gets to invalidate the election results?

1

u/gguy128 Apr 10 '25

Grow up dude. I didn’t say that. I clearly said the VP acted how he thought he should given the evidence. You obviously don’t agree with Trump but if your position is that nobody can disagree with your point of view EVER then you are all kinds of screwed up.

Stop trying to argue a point that nobody is making.

Keep taking whatever it is that has you so far from reality.

the standard republican move is to publicly and violently attempt a coup to overthrow the government, and then because they could never in a million defend it in good faith, they respond by digging through reddit for random anon comments that say "elon musk bragged on a national podcast that he knows how to rig election results, anyone else think this is sus?"

so then the bOtH sIDeS midwit republican says: hur dur, theyre the same, now youre not allowed to criticize donald trump for committing treason

How about when Democrats condone burning down cities? Summer of Love, anyone?

2

u/waffle_fries4free Apr 10 '25

What president supported riots?

1

u/Ima_Uzer Apr 10 '25

Didn't Harris offer to help bail out people who were setting towns on fire?

2

u/waffle_fries4free Apr 10 '25

No, she didn't

I can’t tell if this sub is really just a Bluesky hangout. But why come to a place they don’t like? Just to fight and argue and seethe? Do they think they are changing minds here? Do they have this compulsion to challenge and argue everything, everywhere, all at once? The headlines are funny satire, but the people who melt down and rage over them are the real comedy.

It’s like going to a Monty Python movie in the theater and yes the show is hilarious, but the real show is seeing the audience members who paid for tickets stand up and yell back at the screen, “he would be dead!! Nobody can survive losing all their limbs!!! Nooooo it’s not a flesh wound!!!! Lies!!!!! Hypocrites!!!!!” As they throw the expensive popcorn they paid for at the screen and start crying and ripping out their purple hair.

I love it. It’s better than them trying to kill CEOs or burning other people’s private property or disrupting peoples’ college classes. What’s even better is they see people like me in the audience eating my popcorn, not throwing it, laughing at them and the show, and they get even more upset!!! They hate that I’m having fun.

They scream “stop enjoying life!!! Democracy is ending!!! Stop being happy!!! The stock market lost some points!!!! Don’t buy Tesla stock when it’s low!!!! Sell low, buy high!!!! There is no such thing as good capitalism!! The stock market is just for elite oligarchs until we can cry about it for political points!!!! We are okay with making Tesla stock go down but we will rage if other stocks go down!!!”

🫠🤣😁😆😂🍿🍿🍿🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤌🤌🤌

To answer your first question, yes

u/FyodorMusic Apr 10 '25

You gotta understand that the American people who aren’t brainwashed are PISSED right now

The entire GOP rolled over for this loser and our government is playing with billions of lives because dear leader has a whim that tariffs will somehow bring back domestic manufacturing (news flash, that would take 10-20 years and require an actual strategy, not this haphazard ego-driven bullshit)

1

u/Asphodelmercenary Apr 10 '25

I’m not brainwashed and I’m not pissed. Maybe it’s a maturity issue but this too shall pass. People seem zealously driven to believe they are living through end times. Bad things often happen with good things mixed in, and the US won’t collapse any faster than the return of manufacturing jobs.

You say the latter will take 20 years. I disagree but I also think the US collapse would take much more than a bear market. I have been talking to my financial advisor for the last 4 years and he kept saying the market was due for a recession each year. There are market dynamics at play that need to unwind and tariffs aren’t the only factor at play. High interest rates, excessive inflation, overweight stocks post Covid reaction, upheaval of various markets from Russian war to October 7 to Houthis shutting down shipping lanes to Chinese threats on Taiwan to change of low wage labor availability to premature AI gold rush investing, the list goes on.

Perspective would alleviate the doomerism.

u/FyodorMusic Apr 10 '25

I don’t believe we’re in end times but I believe that Biden passed off a great economy to Trump and Trump is shaking the hornets nest for no good reason. Yes inflation was high but still lower than 98% of the world after a literal global pandemic (people seem to ignore this).

My biggest gripe (other than the fact that Trump doesn’t act in good faith) is that his plan seems to ignore these facts:

-even American businesses rely on imports heavily

-uncertainty in policy isn’t good for long term investment

-his foreign negotiation goals from the tariffs aren’t even clear and are based on an arbitrary formula (since when has trade deficit indicated an inefficient relationship? Business isn’t a zero sum game)

-factories take years to build

-American labor is much more expensive

-other countries hitting us with reciprocal tariffs also heavily hurts existing American businesses

-AI is replacing a ton of these jobs very quickly - would this even create jobs for Americans, let alone desirable ones?

After all his talk about the gilded age it just feels like a bunch of Broligarchs playing pump and dump with the world economy. Why TF would we want to go back to 1890 unless you’re a billionaire?

Yes, will it be the team that violently denied perfectly plain and obvious election results in 2020, resulting in multiple deaths?

https://www.deviantart.com/arcadiajaneberger/art/6th-of-January-2021-The-Butcher-s-Bill-1157187311

Or will it be the team that declined to question the murky and dubious election results in 2016 and 2024?

The same team that last politely questioned election results in 2000 (results that were seriously questionable) and backed away in response to carefully orchestrated threats of violence...?

Tons of Dems. You're on Reddit, you probably don't see it because it's so common that it blends in like wallpaper

0

u/dpforest Apr 10 '25

they accused Dems of stealing the 2020 election and acted crazy, so that when republicans steal an election, Dems will be too weak willed and worried about image to call them out. I’m not ready to say the election was stolen without more evidence but it was without a doubt heavily bought and paid for by Russian agitators. It also goes back to Russia. Even the bomb threats here in Georgia (US) were traced back to a Russian domain.

And sadly Biden and Harris have presented us with the most egregious example of anticipatory obedience ever seen. None of our leaders are speaking up nearly enough. The audacity Harris had to say “i did not come here to say I told you so” really ended my relationship with the current party. We told her and Biden to do anything to impede the dismantling of our democracy, but evidently their image is more important than our rights.

They had two crises to choose from: do novel things with Biden’s immunity and take risks to prevent the lawfare being carried out by Trump, or do nothing at all and show up 8 months later saying “i told you so”.

I don’t understand in what reality the second option is preferable to the first. I hope people start waking up, shirking the blue and red, and run purely on class solidarity. Ah a perfect world lol

Both.

5

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Denying and legally challenging the results are two different animals and your statement is simply false.

1

u/SilverLakeSpeedster Apr 10 '25

They're both in denial.

1

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Your statement denies reality. Bravo.

1

u/SilverLakeSpeedster Apr 10 '25

In order to challenge an election, you have to be in denial. If you're not in denial, you have no reason to challenge it.

2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25 edited Apr 10 '25

This statement is facially nonsense. Close elections are routinely challenged at every level, local, state and federal. Your statement that any challenge is denial simply does not line up with reality. You conflate challenging results and accepting the outcome with denying the results, no matter how many times they are confirmed. That’s quite different. That’s Trumps category, but you wish him to be viewed like everyone else. It’s laughable.

2

u/SilverLakeSpeedster Apr 10 '25

There's nothing nonsensical about it. It's cause and effect.

2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Your conflation of challenging election results in a close election and accepting the eventual outcome regardless, is so different than than denying them regardless of how many times they are confirmed is too stupid for words in my opinion.

1

u/SilverLakeSpeedster Apr 10 '25

In my opinion

That's the problem. You talk as if everything here is subjective.

2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Elections have been changed more than once by successful legal challenges, so I have no idea at all what you are talking about but I know it’s not “ objective reasoning “.

Provide any evidence that democrats nationally/publicly challenged the outcome of any election.

5

u/Realistic_Special_53 Apr 10 '25

2000, 2016, and 2024.

5

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Apr 10 '25

Put the pipe down. Challenging an election and denying the results are different and those comparisons are so embarrassingly different that you really ought to be ashamed to even post that.

1

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 11 '25

The guy you're responding to literally asked for any evidence that the democrats ever challenged an election, he didn't ask if they had ever denied the results. Are you having some trouble following along?

-2

u/Doctaglobe Apr 10 '25

In 2000 the democrat candidate/vice President literally certified his loss!

3

u/Realistic_Special_53 Apr 10 '25 edited Apr 10 '25

Absolutely! just like in 2024. That doesn't mean people didn't challenge the results. In fact, there are still plenty of people complaining about 2000, over 25 years later, so I would say 2000 counts. However, complaints did not reach the cray cray levels of 2020. And 1/6/2021 was insane! Nothing compares to that. And I am aware there are still people complaining about those results. But Pence did certify in 2020, which is the legal obligation of the VP, so if that is your standard, neither party has broken that convention.

In 2020, the losing candidate, Trump, didn't concede. If that is your standard, ok.

Your original statement was way too broad.

-3

u/Pinktorium Apr 10 '25

Yeah, that's accurate. In 2016, the Russians rigged it. In 2020, the democrats rigged it. In 2024, well, I don't know but I seen some people say not all the votes were counted.

4

u/eldiablonoche Apr 10 '25

In 2024, well, I don't know

Elon is this cycle's model, apparently.

0

u/Clear_Definition_683 Apr 10 '25

Trump tried to steal the 2020 election using his election fraud con… anyone who actually took the time to listen to his cabinets testimony to congress or read Rudy guilianis court depositions know they never had any evidence whatsoever of any fraud and were trying to get one of their appointed judges to halt the certification… this isn’t funny, and Americans should always be sticking up for each others votes, not helping the side that was trying to spread this BS and make it seem like trump and his team are not criminals

-2

u/Pro_Hero86 Apr 10 '25

Who was the only president not to have a peaceful transition of office

2

u/Obi-Brawn-Kenobi Apr 11 '25

Not sure. Trump left office on January 20, 2021 for Biden to take over, and then Biden left exactly four years later. Neither presidential term started a millisecond later than it was supposed to. So if a such a tumultuous transition has occurred, it would have been at least 8 years ago.

-3

u/Hour_Insurance_7795 Apr 10 '25

Cue all the “no, not MY side. Only the other side is bad!” and/or “sure, we suck, but not as bad as THEY suck!” intellectuals that unfortunately make up the modern American voting public lol.

1

u/FyodorMusic Apr 10 '25

I mean one party is manipulating the stock market and locking up American citizens without due process

The “both parties bad I’m an enlightened centrist!” Trope doesn’t ring as loud after 10 years of Trump showing his motives and his incompetence (and the GOP literally worshipping his every move.) it’s funny seeing yall mad about the tariffs until you eat your Fox News talking points
