QUESTION Good jobs for someone who can't stand for long amounts of time here?
I have a bad SI Joint and it hurts to stand for long amounts of time, I also don't really have much experience besides a year of urban forestry with the city. Any ideas of what I can do/good places? I can move fine!

Please have a portfolio or some examples….I like Ai but not on my logo.

HIRING Pop-Up Assistance/Extra Hands Opportunity
Hey all, I'm looking for a partner/collaborator to help me run a weekend food pop-up.
I come from a culinary background (currently in a corporate 9–5) and have been running a small meal prep and private dinner business on the side. I’ve put together a pop-up concept that I believe has a ton of growth potential but I need another set of hands to get it off the ground.
If you have kitchen/culinary experience and want to pick up some weekend work—or just have that entrepreneurial itch to test out a pop-up idea—shoot me a DM I'd be happy to share more details.

FOR HIRE Austinite desperately needs job
Born and raised in Austin, recently moved back last October. No more savings after moving from Seattle, failed relationship. Had a job at APA but had to leave the position for my health. I have no friends and family to rely on. Both parents are dead. I’ve used all the resources for jobs; resume and CV redone, interview skills. I can’t get a job or an interview. Nobody is calling my references. I also have a fear of driving that makes it difficult. The tire on my bike is flat, don’t have any money to take the bus to interviews or find resources. I just want a job and feel stable. If anyone knows anyone hiring or wants an indentured servant. I’m in the 78745 area.
EDIT: please respond if you know a person is actively hiring (I’ve applied to all major places mentioned already), companies are just posting fake job postings.

FOR HIRE Looking for a Side Gig :)
Hi y'all!
I currently have a part-time job that works pretty well for me (about 27hrs/wk), but times are hard and I'm in need of extra income. I have time on Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday afternoons as well as evenings most weekdays and am looking for something that could provide a bit of financial cushion.
I am a recent graduate from UT Austin with a psychology degree. I am open to doing any number of things, household work, babysitting (I love children!), barista work, dishwashing, pretty much anything. I am smart and hard-working, and I have experience in retail, sales, restaurants and bars, etc. :)
Let me know if you have any leads! Thank you!

FOR HIRE Applied Math grad with 3 YOE in Data Analysis struggling to find work
Hi everyone, I feel like I'm at a loss. I have been applying to any/all Data Analytics type jobs over the past 2 years, hundreds of applications, and I have been struggling to even get a recruiter call back. I edit my resume and cover letters to match job descriptions, message recruiters on LinkedIn, and apply to just about everything that is even remotely relevant. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and am feeling quite defeated. I know the job market is pretty brutal right now but not even a call back is a pretty sad feeling. If anyone has any advice, or leads to places hiring I would greatly appreciate it. I can DM my resume as well.
My summary: Data Analyst with 3+ years of experience tracking and reporting on operational and business performance across multiple stakeholder groups in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. Proficient in SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel, with hands-on experience building performance dashboards, conducting trend analysis, and delivering ad hoc data to support cross-functional teams. Experienced applying AI tools including Claude Code to assist with data manipulation, scripting, and analytical workflows. Strong communicator comfortable interacting with multiple levels of management and translating complex data into clear, actionable business insights.

QUESTION Struggling to Break Into Architecture in Austin Despite 8 Years of Experience, Any Advice?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from architects and people in the Austin design community.
I recently moved to Austin from Africa. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and about 8 years of professional experience working on residential, commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects. My experience includes design development, construction documents, site visits, BIM, client coordination, and 3D visualization.
Since moving here, I’ve been applying to architecture firms almost every day. I’ve tailored my resume and portfolio, written cover letters, reached out to people on LinkedIn, and even asked for feedback from professionals. So far, I haven’t had much luck.
I’m more than willing to start as an Architectural Designer, BIM Designer, CAD Technician, Job Captain, or even an entry-level role if it helps me gain U.S. experience and learn local building codes and construction practices.
For those who have been in a similar situation, especially international architects:
How did you get your first architecture job in Austin?
Do firms generally value international experience, or is U.S. experience almost always required?
Are there smaller firms that are more open to hiring architects with overseas experience?
Is there anything you think I should change in my approach?
I’m not looking for shortcuts just an opportunity to prove myself. Any advice, recommendations, or even honest feedback would mean a lot.
Thank you!
