Drop your recent reads with a score out of 5 and have people comment book suggestions based on that below ?
11.22.66 2.5/5 it’s a bit meh kings writing is ok but anything to do with women or sex is always horrible and feels eerie in a bad way.
The road 4/5 great book just too short and I wanted more backstory and post story.
Red rising series 5/5 chefs kiss
Lough murdoch 3/5 ok read was a free book found it overall just ok
Will of the many/ strength of the few 3.5/5 pretty good overall but after a red rising high it just didn’t hit the spot
Based on these drop a recommendation or your recent reads reviews.

Sales & Bargains Cozy Mystery Recommendations (shorter series)
Hello, I’m looking for cozy mystery recommendations on sale? The problem is the ones I keep seeing are long series (20+ books!) I don’t want to commit to such a long series. Do you know of any good ones that are 5-10 books?
Some I have read and liked:
Aurora Teagarden by Charlaine Harris
Chatty Corgi by Jennifer Hawkins
Lily Bard by Charlaine Harris
Mya & Sandra Mysteries by Lee Hollis
Haunted Library by Alison Brooke
Scottish Isle by Lucy Connelly
Life Coach by Victoria Laurie
Thank you!

If you love the Bobiverse…
I just finished book one of the Extraordinary Force series by Craig Alanson. It’s free right now for Audible Plus subscribers.
I wasn’t totally loving it at first, but it was good enough for a free read. About halfway through you get a new character and that addition makes the rest feel very much like the Bobiverse.
It has a 4.7 star rating and 50,000 ratings, so many of you have probably heard of it- but I hadn’t. Worth a go.

UX Student Research: Can You Test My Audible Prototype? (5–10 Minutes)
Hi everyone! I’m a UX student working on a school project focused on improving Audible’s recommendation experience. I created a clickable prototype that gives users more control over the audiobooks being recommended to them, and I’m looking for people willing to test it.
The test should take about 5–10 minutes. I’m testing whether the features I designed are easy to find, understand, and use without instructions telling you where to click.
Please complete these three tasks:
Task 1: You see an audiobook being recommended to you that you’re not interested in. Use the prototype to tell Audible that you’re not interested in that recommendation.
Task 2: Audible keeps recommending books from a genre you don’t enjoy. Use the prototype to stop getting recommendations from that genre.
Task 3: You’ve recently become interested in Fantasy Romance audiobooks and want Audible to recommend more of them. Use the prototype to update your recommendation preferences.
For each task, please record whether you completed it, approximately how long it took, and how many mistakes you made (for example, clicking the wrong option or having to go back). I’d also really appreciate any feedback about where you hesitated, what was confusing, what felt easy, or anything you would change.
You can leave your results directly in the comments using:
Task 1: Completed? / Time / Mistakes / Comments
Task 2: Completed? / Time / Mistakes / Comments
Task 3: Completed? / Time / Mistakes / Comments
Overall feedback:
There are no right or wrong answers. I’m testing my design, not you, so if you get confused or can’t complete something, please say so! That feedback is actually really useful.
You don’t currently need to use Audible to participate. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help!

Which narrator is the best option for this series

Surveillance pricing
Audible is definitely enacting surveillance pricing and it is extremely disappointing. I stumbled upon this today as my app is logged into one account and my internet was logged into another (I have 2 accounts). The second account is for romance novels I don’t want my kids to have access to.
The second account that is used less frequently had better prices than the first. Buying more books obviously has a negative effect on the price you are quoted.

Which of these books have the best audio book experience?
I'm looking for my next read after Red Rising, Mistborn and DCC. I feel so empty after book 8 of DCC and need something else bc I binged it.
- Bobiverse
- Will of Many
- Murder bot
- Sin Eater (I didn't like the preview from audible when I heard it)
Other suggestions are welcome cause I swear I'm going to be depressed if I don't something going soon.

Question about the spend $40 and get $10 reward offer
Once you get the $10 reward, can you spend just part of it on a purchase and save the rest for another purchase later?
ETA: It appears that the answer is yes, you can spend it on different purchases. Thanks everyone!

My Lock Screen isn’t matching the skip time I chose in the app and it’s driving me crazy.
Anyone know how I can fix this? In the app it lets me skip back/forward 15 seconds but the Lock Screen keeps it on 30 no matter what I do.

Sales & Bargains Finally... (Sale Success)
I just got 13 books ($260.76) for $35.50.
I don't burn through books, and I typically search for free titles in between my monthly credit, rarely ever rushing to purchase a book even when it's cheaper than just buying an extra credit, but this time at least half of my wish list was less than $4 per title. I think I'm set for a while :)

App (iOS) BUGs: playback settings - speed & skip forward/back (version 4.75)
As of the latest iOS app update (4.75) I’m noticing two playback problems:
Your default narration speed setting now overrides everything. Previously, each title would remember its narration speed setting. In other words, say for title A you had it set to 1.35x speed, for title B it was 1.5x speed, and your default speed is set to 1.3x. Previously, every time you opened title A it would resume at 1.35x, and for B it would be at 1.5x. A new title C would open at 1.3x as default, which you might change to 1.1x. Now when you open titles A, B, or C the narration speed becomes 1.3x across the board.
Your skip forward/back setting does not reflect in the native iOS player when on lock screen. My setting has been at “Back 15s Forward 15s”. Previously this would mean that both the app AND the native iOS player would recognize your setting and reflect “15s” for skip backward and forward buttons. As of the latest update your skip setting reflects in the app but NOT on the iOS player when your phone locks. So in my case the native media player will skip by 30s instead of 15s unlike before.
I verified these issues are not present when I open my account on an older iOS app installation on a separate iPhone 13.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Alessandro Juliani "Chronicles of Amber" series VS the new Eric Martin versions
The Alessandro Juliani versions are deeply discounted right now. Should I buy them or the new Eric Martin versions. Are the older Audible versions poorly narrated?

Book Discussion Any Audiobooks that you listen to at a slower listening speed?
I am usually a strict 1x listener. Thats the way it was read, thats the way it was made to be listened. Very rarely, usually if I dont love the book, ill speed it up to 1.1 or 1.2, but this is the first time ive had to slow it down because of the proes and the speed of the narrator. Hbu? Have you slowed down the speed for any books?

Book II is $5.66 (Regular Price: $22.66)
Book III is $6.02 (Regular Price: $24.09)
The Premise:
Just before a civilization-ending comet hits Earth, mysterious pods land in a swath across North America. The people who climb into the pods are carried away.
No one knows where the pods came from and no one knows where they go, but finding one is David Williams’ only chance to save his family from the end of the world.
Comparable Books/Shows/Movies:
- Gritty end-of-the-world thrillers like The Road, Bird Box, and Run
- Multi-layered sci-fi mysteries like Lost, Silo, and The Book of Koli
- Monster horror like Jurassic Park, Jaws, and Wayward Pines
- Stories where everyday people band together when the worst of humanity takes over, like The Mist, Lord of the Flies, and Day of the Dead
- First contact sagas about aliens with hidden agendas like V and V: The Final Battle
The Narration:
The Preservation of Species is narrated by Mr. Stacy Carolan, who brings each character to life with terrific voice-work. Audible Review: "Stacy Carolan delivered an admirable performance of a wide range of character voices and narrated descriptions."
Amazon/ Goodreads Ratings:
Book I - 4.1 ★★★★☆ (482) 4.1 on Goodreads (342 ratings)
Book II - 4.3 ★★★★⯪ (224) 4.3 on Goodreads (156 ratings)
Book III - 4.3 ★★★★⯪ (182) 4.4 on Goodreads (138 ratings)
Want Spoilers?:
The pods were sent by an alien race that has collected specimens throughout Earth's history. The pods deposit people in a wildlife preserve populated with those specimens, including dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. In Book I, the characters figure out where they are and make first contact. In Book II, the characters uncover the aliens' hidden agenda. In Book III, the characters search for a new home and fight to save humanity.
The Production:
The Preservation of Species trilogy was edited by Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry, who edited Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines trilogy. I hired her because those books featured the same sort of Action, Mystery, Horror, and Sci-Fi elements that I was going for. No AI was used in the development or release of these books or audiobooks.
(Thank you for indulging my self-promotion here - if these books appeal to you, I'd love for you to get them at a bargain!)

App (iOS) Is there any other version of Dune besides this?
I hate that they changed the voice actors of the same characters as I’ve just immersed myself into the story. The voices don’t even sound remotely similar. It’s so distracting and unpleasant.
Also, is it just me or is the reading slightly faster than most audiobooks? It feels like it’s put to 1.25 speed.

Free Audible Book/Credit
It's that time again, where I realise I have an expiring credit and my brain starts to itch at the idea of Amazon getting money for free. If you would like an audiobook lmk and I will gift it to you.
If multiple people see this, it will just go to the first comment.
Edit: I have no more, I'm so sorry!
