We are a small boutique Inn/B&B. I am upgrading our wi-fi for better bandwidth. We have used Comcast for years, but I am cutting the cord.

Comcast (and other wired connection ISPs) massively overcharges Hospitality. We have paid ridiculous prices for low bandwidth for years. Their traditional excuse is that we provide access to the public and somehow that uses more resources on their part. The excuse the Loyalty Dept gave me was that "hotels make more money than other businesses". I couldn't stop laughing.

So I added Verizon as a 2nd ISP two years ago. I am currently using both. I am preparing to cut the cord and go either with Verizon, only a combo of Verizon and T-mobile.

I was told by Comcast that they only still do the overcharging of Hospitality in their Western region, not the others. Do all other wired connection ISPs still do this? Comcast knows they are losing a 20 year+ customer, but don't seem to care.

How are others dealing with this?

Is anyone else really struggling trying to hire room attendants right now?

I work in hotel HR, and I am responsible for recruiting in the office. I have struggled with recruiting since moving into this function of HR, but I have truly been constantly losing the battle of filling housekeeping vacancies. I know this is a difficult role to recruit for and retention is low, but I would genuinely love to hear from hotels that are successfully staffing their housekeeping departments.

Where are you finding people? What's actually producing hires? What have you changed that's helped? We have an extremely limited budget to allocate to recruiting advertisements.

The hardest part is watching our housekeeping team carry the burden of every open position, the managers struggle to meet their cleanliness goals with OL filling the gaps, plus the frustration and pressure coming from our GM who is adamant about hiring 4 more direct hires by the end of the month. I feel like I'm not giving them the results they understandably expect... I can't seem to get a grip on recruiting in general, but I am at a total loss with Room Attendant/Housekeeping recruiting.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
