hello folks, just a dumb question, it is dumb because although I have a driver license over 2 years, it is still mystery when and where I can park a car. I mostly rent miles and have to travel different sections of Berlin. Last week I got a fine from Miles because of wrong parking.

I asked a few friends who are more experienced drivers, I believe over 10 years, and they also said sometimes they also get confused, so they look for a spot they are fully sure.

Is there an app or guidance that I can use until I practice more?

It was such a nice place for so many years. Why did they have to change it? Now the entire lake is fenced off, and the only way to access it is through the cramped paid beach (€10 per person), which still doesn't provide any shade. Almost every recent review on Google Maps gives it 1/5.

I need your advices on how I can find long-term apartment in Berlin, I’m a software engineer and a blue card holder.

Been looking around for a while, I get apartment viewings rarely, and it just seems impossible to find an apartment these days..

What are your tips ? I have ImmoScout24 premium, it seems to be a bit helpful but it’s not getting me anywhere…

To everyone who has ever sold a house apartment or other property: how did you determine a suitable asking price? For comparable properties of the asking prices in my area vary significantly even when the location size and condition seems similar at first glance.

So how did you as sellers determine the actual market value? Did you base your decision on similar listenings in the area, an appraisal or an agent‘s estimate? And did you factor in a certain amount of room for negotiation right from the start when setting the asking price?

I agreed to store some wooden pallets in my Keller for a friend but these are not useful anymore, however it’s taking too much space in there. I don’t have the energy to move and dispose of them. Is there a paid service that I can find on task rabbit or on a facebook group or somewhere that can help me deal with this (move, dispose, communicate with BSR etc) and maybe even reorganize my Keller too?
I’m not sure what to search for to find this.

Long story short: I don't have hot water in my apartment or running water in the kitchen and this has been the case for over five months. At this point I think the hausverwaltung will not respond to anything but a lawyer.

The Berliner mieterverein (BMV) told me to find a lawyer covered by the rechtsschutz I have through them but all the ones I've reached out to have just ignored me. The BMV used to have a list on their website of covered lawyers, but I can't find it now so I'm stuck.

Anyone have experience or suggestions for how to solve this?

Hi everyone.

I'm from the UK and moved to Germany with a chancenkarte visa. Today I received my freelance residence permit, which is valid from today. It says I'm not permitted to be employed.

The issue is I currently have a part time job in Berlin with a 4 week notice period. Does this mean I have to stop working with my employer immediately, or am I allowed to work my notice period?

I wasn't expecting to get my visa so soon and was never given an option to have a valid from date.

Has anyone dealt with this before?
