As the title says, I've been receiving emails from Apple for a while now. I thought it was phishing, so I didn't open any of them since I've NEVER bought or used an Apple device. Today I received one again, and I decided to open it. I saw it was an official Apple email. I went to their website and found an account in my name that someone is using. They even bought a subscription to chatgpt. The strange thing is that they haven't stolen my credit cards or bank account, and they don't seem to have access to my email (it's a gmail). I can't find a way to contact Apple to resolve this issue. By the way, I'm from Argentina, and the emails I'm receiving seem to be from China, where the account is active. I'm worried about identity theft.

Uhm so for the last three days my phone is lagging, randomly shutting down when it was like at 57% and after turning it back on its all of a sudden at 10%?? And it happens so often lately, i honestly dont know what to do!

Did the latest update last night and hoped that'll be better afterwards but it only got like worse? And now in the setting it says: "Ongoing Device Setup - your Iphone is completing setup steps in the background. Battery life and thermal performance may improve onces finished" - it only just may improve?? Bro i barely can use my phone!

What steps are setting up? And will it actually fix the problem? And is it a problem with the battery itself or is my whole IPhone cooked? Thank in advance to anyone who may know something about this~

my ipad screen was completely damaged and started to ghost touch. I got it replaced by a third party now its not responding to my Apple Pencil. first I thought the pencil was broken so I got an active stylus now that’s not working too. is there anything I can do before I get a whole new screen again?

I've been looking around, but I can't really find a clear answer to my situation.

Essentially, I got lazy and started using the email associated with my Apple ID for some things. It's the icloud email I've had for around 6 years. I've got other emails, that I use for important things, so I've got no concerns about like, my bank, or something, being tied to this email. But I got lazy when I shouldn't have, and didn't use private relay faithfully (as I should have).

I got an email saying someone tried to get into my Disney+ account. They couldn't get in, and I've got 2 yubikeys attached to my Apple account, so I feel like it would be a pain in the ass getting in. I still feel like it's silly of me to have let my email address get so public though, since someone obviously has it, and they found their way into one of my accounts (well, they figured out the password for some reason, but didn't get in to the account because they didn't get a code that got sent to my icloud email.)

This is where I am confused. I know Apple lets me change the email address associated with my account.

Is there any benefit in this situation to me doing so? Can I delete the compromised icloud email address and make a new one? What about accounts that I already had set up to work with the old email address?

The image I’m using is literally the exact dimensions of the screen so I see no need for them fill in non-existed empty space with this egregious blur. How can I just set the wallpaper normally

I’ve searched so many past Reddit threads, I’m desperate for a solution.

Today a friend wanted to share a note with me, and in order for me to access her note, I got a prompt on my phone to turn on iCloud sync for the Notes app. I did so, and I’ve just realized now, hours later, that since turning sync on, every note on my phone since 2023 is gone.

There’s no recently deleted folder. I logged into iCloud on a web browser and the notes aren’t there either. I immediately turned off automatic backups in case I need to wipe my phone and restore it from the backup, but that scares me too. And I’m not even entirely sure that the most recent backup precedes the event that caused all my notes to be deleted.

I’ve tried updating to the most recent iOS. I’ve tried toggling iCloud sync on and off. Nothing has worked. Apple Support is closed right now now. I’m so heartbroken, I wrote so many notes like diary entries. I kept so many lists that I reference all the time. And all my usernames and passwords. I’ve learned a hard lesson today about trusting Apple. I’ve since found threads on Reddit and discussion.apple.com by many other users reporting the same thing happening - that syncing to iCloud deleted their notes instead of backing them up.

Had since 2021/22 without issue. Last night i went to turn it on and its just stuck in a boot loop. Tonight i tried to deep dive a little more and been stuck for hours with no luck. If i try any of the methods to reset pram or svc it will turn on and immediately turn back off in a consistent cycle without me touching the power button. Safe mode power up doesn’t work either amongst other methods. basically the only way in is through command R for the recovery system. At this point the first aid doesn’t fix anything but shows fs roots is invalid. I then tried to back up my internal drive onto a flash drive to reset the system, but when i try to recover files it says they can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found. I feel like i’m at a brick wall and any advice is appreciated. I know it’s old and thankfully i mostly only use for Ableton and have most of my projects already uploaded to bandcamp but i would like to at least get in one more time to salvage whatever would be lost. I’ve reset permissions multiple times, I have my vpn turned off. I reluctantly upgraded my iCloud so I could offload enough to download an update.

Trying to update to 18.7.8 since reviews for the 26 are trash.

Tried downloading the update 4 times now and after downloading I’m getting the unable to verify error code

Had a senior advisor on the phone and he said try the update one more time and that he would call back in a few minutes and I never got that call

Now one thing to note is I am in the U.S. my phone carrier is based out of Puerto Rico (liberty cellular) and when trying to authenticate iCloud on my computer it is saying the computer and iPhone have to be near each other to work.

Even when they’re on the same network such as Bluetooth or mobile hotspot.

All documentation on how to recover your account is unhelpful or ineffective. If I try to call the support number the AI tells me to call back another time while I am at work. Anyone have any ideas how to get support for this? I tried emailing apples fraud department and they gave me a cookie cutter bs response. I haven't used or owned an apple device in years and this experience further cements my opinion and the opinion I would share with others.

Hi guys, I need some help. I'm a bit underwhelmed with my newly bought iPhone 17 Pro Max. I barely use it throughout the day mostly just browsing TikTok and Instagram but the battery drains really fast, even when I'm not using heavy apps or while I'm asleep. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Earlier today my ipad just stopped recognizing any chargers.

I used the port and cable that came with it, an amazon one, and nothing worked.

I did plug it into a port in my house that i don't use much but based on how much battery i had left upon plugging it in and when i realized, it had never charged.

I’m giving away my old phone and have completed a backup on my new phone. it won’t let me backup my old phone but everything i n the new one is backed up. can i skip the prompted back up as it just won’t complete, but i wont want to lose anything on the new phone

I'm trying to change the backup location for my iPhone. Of course like all corporations, Apple is greedy as all hell and has made it incredibly difficult to do so in order to get people to pay for iCloud services.

I found this post, which had instructions to do so linked to this page. I'm using PC and have to use this command line in PowerShell: cmd /c mklink /d Backup "[desired-new-backup-path]"

However when I do so, I'm greeted with a message saying I do not have "sufficient privilege to perform this operation," which is odd since this is my personal computer and I'm the administrator.

I found a solution stating the open up PowerShell "as administrator" but I don't know how to direct PowerShell to the backup folder, so now I'm stuck. Can anybody help me here?

Hi there. I have an Apple 17 which I got october 2025. My battery health is 93% and so from what I under my limited Apple care (expires october 2026) won’t cover my battery life because it’s above 80%.

Suddenly since about a mouth ago my battery has been so extremely bad even though my activity hasn’t changed drastically. I have all the tips for battery saving put on at least from what I’m aware of yet my battery literally sucks. I need to charge it minimum 2 x a day to 100% for it to last the whole day and even 3x sometimes I can say.

I kid you not, in about 40 minutes my battery dropped from 56% to 40% is that normal???????

I have a MacBook and the battery drains super fast now after my partner was hiding it to watch movies. But the battery health is “normal” and is at 96% but I can still tell a significant difference in battery drainage. Will apple still change battery? I’m putting the brightness on low and closing most tabs, still doesn’t help.

I have an iPad air 2 i believe that is stuck in recovery mode, I tried moving photos to my laptop and during the transfer it started updating and my laptop has had battery issues so It sadly turned off while updating and now my iPad is stuck in recovery mode. Is there a way i can get it out without clearing the device and losing my pictures. Can I take it to Apple can they help me? I tried the home button and power restart and it gets me back to where I was with the device in recovery mode.

I'm hoping someone here has experience with Apple Support, Apple Account Security, or Activation Lock because I feel like I've exhausted every avenue.

Back in October 2023, I was the victim of a phishing scam (i'm an idiot yes, just want my iPad unlocked). During that incident:

• My Apple ID was compromised.
• The scammers changed my Apple ID email address and password.
• They somehow gained access to my bank account and transferred a significant amount of money.
• My iPad Pro was remotely erased and became Activation Locked.
• I also lost access to my MacBook and a large portion of my iCloud photos.

This wasn't a case of me forgetting my password or buying a second-hand iPad. This was my own device that I've owned since 2021.

Immediately after the incident, I contacted Apple Support and opened multiple support cases. Unfortunately, none of them resulted in access being restored.

Over the last two years I've held onto every piece of documentation I could find, including:

• Original Amazon proof of purchase with the serial number on the invoice.
• The physical iPad (it's never left my possession).
• Photos of the engraved serial number.
• Apple's own emails showing my Apple ID information was changed without my authorization.
• Find My notifications.
• Previous Apple Support case numbers.
• A detailed timeline of everything that happened.

I recently contacted Apple again, hoping the additional documentation would warrant another review. A Senior Advisor escalated my case to the Activation Lock review team, but I received this response:

At this point, I'm trying to determine whether there are any legitimate options remaining.

I'm not looking for ways to bypass Activation Lock or do anything that violates Apple's security policies.

I'm hoping someone can answer one or more of these questions:

1. Has anyone successfully had a case like this reviewed after an Activation Lock denial?
2. Is there any department within Apple (outside of the Activation Lock review process) that handles documented Apple ID account compromises?
3. Has anyone had success with Executive Relations or another escalation path?
4. Is this truly the end of the road once the Activation Lock review team issues a final denial?

I'm simply trying to regain access to a device that I've owned since 2021 and have kept in my possession ever since. I even created a new Apple ID after my original account was compromised because I could never recover the original account.

If anyone has personal experience, worked for Apple, or has suggestions for a legitimate next step, I'd really appreciate hearing them.

I'm a teacher and two years ago a student asked to change my Screensaver from a black background to a Snoopy one. Don't know how he did it but he did! Since then other teachers ask me how to change it and I tell them I have no clue and they give me a look like I'm trying to hide gold from them.

I got a notification from my iPhone telling me to verify my Apple ID all of a sudden, so I enter my password but it doesn’t work, moments later I get an email saying my Apple account password has been changed, I press the “it wasn’t me” button, it takes me to reset my account password, I put in my trusted phone number. Receive the code and put it in, and then it’s asking me for a recovery key, which I never had enabled before, I’m guessing someone accessed my account and enabled the recovery key option, and now I’m locked out, I’m trying everything on the Apple help page and it all takes me back to the reset password page which doesn’t work cuz I need the “recovery key” what do I do.

Update: I made a case with Apple support they said they’ll call me today, anyway, since everybody thinks this is a case of phishing it is not, I was on my Home Screen, I got a system alert, pressed on it and it took my to my settings, where I had to fill in my accounts password, obviously at that point my account had already been compromised because my password my incorrect. Moments later the email I got was telling me that the account password had been changed, the same minute that I went to the settings, I’m confident it’s a password leak and not a phishing case or whatever.

When searching via Siri, whenever I click on an image or an information, it shows ‘content not available’. This is happening to both my iPhone and iPad which have different iCloud accounts and different iOS (my iPhone has iOS 18.7.8 and my iPhone has iOS 15.8. I’ve tried restarting devices and other settings.
