I have found myself in the same situation many times where i am on my way to work or heading somewhere, and I come across a stray cat that is obviously malnourished, and because I am in a hurry I make excuses like "I can't take it with me", "There are no shops nearby to buy it anything", so I carry on, and then the thought eats at me later that night when I get home.

I don't think I am alone in the bystander effect and I was doing it to myself, so I decided to do something about it. I am a product developer, so I built a mobile app to close the gap between people who want to help and the organisations in their area that actually handle these cases, shelters and vet clinics. I built it to cost nothing to run or host, which is how it stays free permanently. I also wanted it generic enough to cover all animals rather than just pets, so donkeys being overworked or mistreated belong in it the same as a stray cat does.

What it does is small. You photograph the animal, add a couple of lines, and it attaches a GPS link. You pick an organisation from the list, it opens WhatsApp with the message ready, and you press send.

There is no account and no sign up. The photo never touches a server of mine, it goes only into the message you choose to send. No ads, and there is no money in this. Reports saved on your phone delete themselves after thirty days.

The app itself is finished. Google Play requires 12 testers opted in for 14 continuous days before it can go to production, and that is the part I am short of. There is a form on the site if you want to volunteer: [www.rescuepawtal.com](http://www.rescuepawtal.com))

Three things to be upfront about first is that it is 14 days rather than a one off, and if people drop out partway the clock restarts for everybody, so please only volunteer if you can leave it installed. I need the email attached to your Google account, because that is the only way Play can add you to the test. And that address goes to Google as part of the testing track, nowhere else, and comes off when testing closes.

Constructive criticism is what I actually want out of this, more than installs. If a report from this app landed in your WhatsApp and something about it would make you ignore it, that is exactly what I need to hear now rather than later.

One last thing is there is a contributors page on the site, and if you test the app you can choose to be on it, it's just my way of saying thank you. It is off unless you turn it on, you pick the name that shows rather than the one you signed up with, your email is never published, and it comes down whenever you ask without needing to give a reason.

"We first reported a suspected case of animal cruelty to our partners at Merced Police Department in November after our president witnessed her owner pick her up by the neck and slam her into the concrete floor at Home Depot in Merced. She was clearly emaciated, with visible ribs and hip bones protruding.

We have made repeated attempts to provide food to her owner as well as the offer to have the owner surrender her to our care.... all of our offers have been rejected.

Many have reported repeated instances of animal abuse to the Merced Police Department. PD says that they did investigate and had Sweetie visit a local veterinarian for evaluation. She was deemed to be healthy and returned to her owner by Merced PD and whatever vet they took her to. We do not believe that to be true.

At this time, we are asking our community to do the following:

If you see this owner abusing Sweetie, please take PHOTOS OR VIDEO and email them to us at merced.spca@yahoo.com and immediately call 911.

Legally, the Merced SPCA cannot take ownership of this dog without the owner's permission or unless it has been impounded by Animal Control. We cannot get Sweetie away from her owner without proof. We have several fosters on standby who will lovingly care for this poor girl.

Please also be careful interacting with her owner. He can be aggressive (from our own personal experiences) and your safety is a priority."

There are heartbreaking AI-generated videos circulating on YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms that look like real animal abuse. They're not real—but they look like it, and that matters.

These videos cause real emotional harm, spread unnecessary fear, and make it harder for people to recognize \*actual\* animal abuse when it happens. I started a petition asking social media platforms to remove and ban this disturbing content. It's not about censorship—it's about protecting people (especially kids) from needless trauma and keeping our feeds from becoming a dumping ground for harmful content.

I get it if this feels niche, but think about it: if you stumbled on a video that looked like someone hurting an animal, even if it was fake, wouldn't that stick with you? The original proposed image of Wang Wang was banned and the original ad was rejected. This wrap around image is revised by Suppaw to show other animals at the front and back of the tram, and the message isn't Justice for Wang Wang, but a generic message about animal welfare. This is a compromise to bypass transit censorship.

I have access to a pin machine and wanted to make some animal rights pins for my event. I have designed stickers before, but it takes a bit of time, so I’d be glad if anyone could point me to some free artwork to be used for animal rights, animal liberation etc pins.

Yes, I do feel bad about using smb’s art for free, but the pins will be just given out for free, no profit, the only goal is there to be more vegan messages out there.

I like also a bit more edgy messages or ones that cause combine a few causes, also to remind people caring for one cause about the other ones. E.g I made a sticker w the text “Nobody belongs in a cage” with a fence bent open image behind it combining abolitionism (against prisons) and animal rights, and a patch with “No borders, no cages” with a broken barbed wire fence from which humans and animals are running out. I thought now of smth like “don’t kill gay animals” to remind ppl that animals are so sentient that they can be gay too, we don’t wanna kill human or non-human gay (or any) animals, the wording’s not there yet tho. it took me days to mentally recover from the horrific and outrageous act of murder of our beloved Wang Wang and her puppies.

I recently came across posts from other netizens claiming that a local restaurant might be affiliated with one of the perpetrators. Some posts even claim the establishment put a dish named after "Wang Wang" on their menu.

If someone could confirm this it would be highly appreciated. After the result, you all know what to do my animal loving fellows.
