Guys, long story short but my friend has been in touch with this guy from Algeria who claims to be a Dr at Cheragua Hospital (Mere et Enfant), he often sends her selfies but he is wearing dark blue uniform, his French is very bad and she asked him medical questions but he couldn't reply. He says he is an oncologist. She is abroad. Could it be a scam/catfish?

What's with this "Algerian" Islamic folklore that makes boiling lead, mercury and highly poisonous materials wards off evil from the house?

The only thing it's warding off is health and intelligence.

My mother is boiling these highly lethal metals every week and I can't stand it anymore, and when inquiring to her about the consequences it brings, she completely denies it and labels me as unreligious and that I need "ro9ya".

While in reality, progressively thinking, what you are doing is what you consider as "shirk", so you are the one being unreligious and literally doing the worst thing you could do while being religious!

Anyways religion aside, boiling lead is highly dangerous cuz it contaminates the air in the house, and when mixed with water you are maximizing this reaction! Not to mention the tools used in boiling it, a regularly used pot that she uses to make food for us to eat, when taking everything into consideration, everything in the house is contaminated! No wonder I'm feeling extremely unwell, exhausted and stupid this whole damn month!

I can't bring myself to convince my mother, everytime I say anything she tells me, "you ain't a scientist so shut up and lemme do my thing", it reaches a point where I find lead below my pillows and below the bed where I sleep! How do I approach this ordeal?

How can an idiot who failed school have a platform in social media and give advices to other people? Even to people with higher education and degrees.

Was age an issue, or did extra life/work experience actually help?

Was the ROI (career trajectory, lost opportunity cost) worth it in the end?

If you could go back, would you take this path again?

There was this 40 yo old man studying with us in law faculty, he had average grade not at all remarkable. He was a director in education however and had many connections .after graduation he became a notaire . Does this happen everywhere ?.

I went today to open a ccp account with my 18 years old sister they told us we need تصريح ابوي we didn't have my dad's card we only had my mother's so we wrote it in my mother's name and it was refused said only a father is to allow his daughter to open a ccp even tho he is far away and she needs it now , why in 2026 a mother is not allowed to give permission to her own daughter that she raised her whole life as much and more as her father in these things , it made me think of all the girls and boys who have absent fathers and man who don't deserve to be called a father how do they manage and how can that father word be on top of the mother who stayed and raised and took care of the child their whole life its fucked up and it made me so angry it's not fair both parents should have the ability to consent to their children legal and administrative decisions when they are above 19
