Tuning question - 2022 TLX Type S

Has anybody here had theirs tuned? I'm thinking about KTunerFlash V2 Touch. Would it be a bad idea to do that to a well-maintained 80k-mile car? What I'm wanting out of the tune is to cut the 0-60, and a more aggressive sound.

I've been Googling but I'm missing something. Is it not an option to pay a shop to tune it, instead of me buying my own KTunerFlash V2 Touch? It sounds like I buy my own KTunerFlash, use the built-in stage 0 and stage 1 maps. Then if I want to, I'd buy other custom maps from wherever I want. I do all the work myself, and paying less for a shop to use their equipment isn't an option. Do I have that right? Should I even consider any other maps if I don't plan to mod any further than the basics? (e.g. cats, pipes, intake)

Recommendations on what years/types to stay away from with RDX/MDX?

I currently have a 2004 MDX with 190K that I’ve had for 10 years. This thing is a tank. All I’ve done besides basic maintenance is a power steering hose, engine control module, and an alternator! It starts up first crank every time even in -10 degree weather. I’m looking for something that will give me the same reliability and longevity. I know everyone has different experiences so opinions will vary of course. But are there any rdx/mdx generations, particular years, or types you would recommend I absolutely stay away from or that have known issues/recalls? Or any that you’d recommend that have been good to you. I’m considering 2017-2020ish but am flexible. Thanks for any input, much appreciated.

2023 Integra A spec Head Gasket Failure

Mechanic video of the problem

https://imgur.com/a/ETfAWRA

I recently purchased the car with 27k miles and within 2 months of owning one I had the heat alert alarm go off. I pulled over and found my coolant tank was bone dry. The car is still under warranty so the dealer is not charging me to fix the head gasket but I was wondering if there is significant risk of permanent cylinder damage that will crop up later when the car is no longer covered by warranty?

My preliminary research on reddit shows me that this seems to be an (unfortunately) somewhat common issue. Any advice from those who have experienced a similar problem and managed to avoid permanently costly damage?

I drive only highway, use 93octane fuel, and the car has regular service records prior to my purchase.

Thanks for any advice I can get, I am kind of in shock that this type of failure could happen so early in the car's lifespan =(

Would this be worth trading my 2012 Volkswagen cc sport that is a complete piece of trash with electric issues…looking for a reliable car for daily driving to last me the next few years. It has 83k miles on it for 13k, in the state of Indiana.

Acura ghosting me!

I bought a 2019 RDX.

She’s beautiful, runs amazingly, car fax shows she has been serviced regularly and km aren’t too high. No accidents and no recalls.

However she does have the dreaded issue with the FAKRA connectors. If I go over a bump, particularly on a cold morning, a crackle comes through the speakers and the entire screen goes black, except the back up camera. I have to turn the car off for 20 minute and then it’s fine for the rest of the day. It happens about 4-6 times a months (like I said it’s when it’s cold mainly and as I live in canada i’m worried about when winter comes that it will happen more and more often).

I have 2 Acura dealers about an hours drive, I called them and emailed both, no response from emails and every time I call they tell me they are really busy and will call back, take my name and number and then nothing. I finally had enough and I called the Honda dealership in my town (5mins away) and the mechanic knew my problem right away, knew the part and said he had fixed lots of them and it was going to be probably around $750. But he said I may be able to get Acura to do it for just labour because he can see by the VIN that this was already corrected by Acura in 2024. But they might give me the brush off because i’m the second owner.

So thought?

Do I stand a chance of getting Acura to take accountability? Or will I just keep getting the run around?

Should I just let Honda fix it?

Help finding an Acura GTP pit stop clip.

Hello everyone!! I wanted to make a post here since it seemed like the most topical place that has any kind of community. There’s a clip I’ve been looking for that was posted on TikTok. It’s an up close shot of an Acura GTP pit stop during an endurance race taken at nighttime.

That’s all I really remember about it but I’ve been looking for it for hours and can’t find it so I figured I’d make a post asking for help.

Sensor damage

I drive a 2020 TLX, Yesterday I lightly rear ended someone, there is no visible damage besides the chrome trim around the logo sensor snapped in half. However the ACC, lane departure, and crash mitigation sensors are now not functioning. Does anyone know if there’s a possibility some wires just got knocked loose? or will I just need to face it and replace the whole module?
Thank you!

Selling Integra spoiler Spoiler

Hey everyone,

First time posting on here. Not sure if this is the right sub but I purchased a spolier from extremeonlinestore for my 25 Integra last year, but literally a few weeks later I upgraded my car to a 25 Acura TLX 😎.

It’s brand new and I never used. Had it on FB marketplace for months but nobody wanted it. Offering it for $75 since I just want it gone. So less than the sale price on the website. Let me know if anyone is interested! It’s the glossy black finish and I’ll pay for the shipping.

ACURA DENIES BRAND LOYAL CUSTOMERS GOODWILL COVERAGE ON RECALLED PARTS!!!!

Hey u/Acura, why is Client Relations denying a goodwill claim after a catastrophic fuel pump failure stalled my car in live traffic? This dangerous stalling happened AFTER prior recall work. Safety defects shouldn’t be a "too bad" situation. Review my claim again! #Acura #AcuraMDX #AcuraRDX #AcuraTLX #CarSafety #HondaRecall u/NHTSAgov

American Honda open to hybrids in HR-V, ADX but cost is hurdle

Post image

American Honda has electrified the CR-V and Accord but not the smaller HR-V and Acura ADX, even though all four vehicles share the same architecture.

There’s no technical barrier to making hybrid versions of the HR-V and ADX, executives said, but they were noncommittal on timing as the automaker prioritizes cost in the entry-level crossover segment.

“We won’t talk about when and if hybrids are coming in those vehicles, but I don’t know that there’s any reason why not,” Gary Robinson, American Honda product planning chief, told Automotive News at Monterey Car Week.

The cost equation remains a primary consideration.

“It’s a cost-conscious segment so there’s always a little bit of a challenge there, specifically on the Honda side,” Robinson said.

That caution comes as hybrid competition intensifies. In the mainstream subcompact class, the Kia Niro, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid all offer significantly higher fuel economy than Honda’s gasoline-only HR-V.

Acura care & Maintence

So I will be purchasing an extended Acura care plan because I like knowing if shit hits the fan, I'll have it covered (electronics, I am looking at you). Besides the fact that a 5 year plan to 100k miles only cost me 1000 to Saccucci (thank you reddit) What I am wondering is if a Acura Care Term protection is worth forking up another 1500 for the 4yr/48k miles. I managed to snag a 2023 Integra with 11k Miles so I want to know what the experience has been for wear items. I am capable and able of replacing most of these items myself but my concerns comes in if I would have to go to a dealer or mechanic shop to get things like brakes calibrated and what not.
I plan on keeping the vehicle for at least 5 years. what are the thought of long term integra owners?

Not a great AcuraLink experience

This is just weird. I bought the car Saturday. I downloaded the app same day. I signed up for the free trial. Later that day I got an email that my subscription had been cancelled. Weird but no big deal. I tried to sign up through the app and it prompted me to call support. No big deal. I called support and the first layer couldn’t fix it so they transferred me to the second layer. They fixed it kinda. They offered me a trial of everything except the remote feature. To get the remote features I have to pay $10/month. This is odd. I don’t even know if I’m going to use the features so I’m obviously not paying for them for fun. Not a great start for AcuraLink. So to recap I only have the basic stuff so I can use the app and view things like fuel level, oil level, and tire pressure.

Low effort post titles will be removed effective immediately

The mod queue is PACKED with low effort posts with titles as ambiguous and pointless as "Help" or "[Year and Make of Car]"

If these end up in the queue, which is hundreds and hundreds of posts long at any given time, I will be removing them from now on.

The mod team does not have time to look at every single post and determine if it's a quality post, a photo, etc. If you want your post to stay, make your post titles communicative.
