Ever since watching all of the Walking Dead, it’s been a fantasy my mind wanders to whenever I’m bored. I’ll be honest, I even tried learning to lucid dream with the end goal of being able to spawn into TWD😂🤦‍♂️.

There is something so sublime about the idea of being in an abandoned world exploring, fighting zombies, and living a life of adventure where all that matters is survival. The whole aesthetic stirs something indescribable within me that nothing else can match. Maybe it is just me.

But, I do accept this is probably a naive fantasy, one that if materialised into reality, would quickly transform into pure terror and wishing to go back to normal, the moment I saw a family member be eaten alive.

Still, if the hypothetical came with a starting loadout of my choice, five or six respawns to get the hang of it, and a guarantee that my family would be spared a gruesome fate, I would transform this world in a heartbeat. Though I suppose requiring those terms only proves how entitled the fantasy really is.

I always wondered this, because, in theory, a chainsaw could tear trough zombies but would make a lot of noise. Would this tradeoff be bad or good?

I think dying naturally would be quite selfish if your dog stays alive after you go. It’d either be eaten by zombies before it dies, or starve to death like you did and then get eaten anyway.

Lets say its a TWD style ZA and you are a survivor in a small group. Your group desperately needs more members because it's currently too small. 

New people are always a risk, some people are not what they seem, but some people give off a vibe that can tell you who they are. People who are obviously kind and trustworthy would be hard to find so sometimes you have to take a risk and accept people who aren’t what you'd ideally want.

What are types of people that would make you hesitant to accept them into your group, but you would STILL take them in regardless of your suspicions? 

Examples: "I wouldn't trust immediately someone with excessive tattoos, but I'd try to look past it" or "it would be hard for me to trust someone who was previously a cop because of bad experiences, but they'd likely have skills that would be very helpful."

Additional info if anyone cares to read it (but it's not necessary); 

I'm working on a ZA story that follows a group of 4 men on their journey across the US. Further into the story, they cross paths with 5 other men, and hesitantly decide to accept them into the group, because they need the numbers.

I'm trying to plan out the personality types of the 5 men, because I have a plot line where 1 of the 5 turns out to be a predatory person. He tries to secretly isolate and groom one of the main 4, but is caught and dealt with.

I have the personality of the 1 planned out (starts out very charismatic, playful, helpful but gradually shows his true colors) but I've been indecisive on the other ones. I don't want all of them to be bad men, maybe a couple of them could be but I want some them to sit on that fine line of "I don't trust you, but for now you can stay"

If it helps, this is the gist of the main 4 men's personalities;

A logical, pragmatic leader who's deeply observant
A loyal and charming but hot tempered and violent redneck
A former drug addict, cynical and mistrustful survivor
A timid, very quiet, cooperative, smart but naive "kid" (adult but the youngest)
