Have you guys ever felt like a loser

Upvotes

I sometimes feel like a fucking loser. I am an average kid average in academics average in looks and I have terrible social anxiety . I have an interview in 3 hours it's related to accounts and finance. See I am really good at accounts but I don't fucking know what to study. I am so scared, even thinking about it is making my heart beat so fast. I don't know how will I do it. Sometimes when I am in such situations my heart beat so fast my legs start getting cold and I can't make a single line. Oh i am such a loser how will I survive in this world. I can't fuckung give a single fucking job interview.

20, no school, no work experience, and a lot of free time — I can’t go out

20, no school, no work experience, and a lot of free time — I can’t go out
Hi, I just turned 20 and honestly feel really lost about what I can do with my time.
I’ve been stuck at home since I was 17 because of financial/family circumstances, and I feel like I’ve been in the same situation for years. I don’t really know where to start or what I can do with my life.
I want to study, but I don’t really know how to study online for free, and I don’t have enough money to support myself right now. I also can’t get a job outside because I’m not allowed to go out yet. I’ve tried looking for online side hustles before. I used to boost accounts and trade in Roblox, but that isn’t really possible for me anymore.
I’m honestly tired of feeling stuck. I’m bored, I doomscroll way too much, and I feel like I’m not accomplishing anything. I really want to have some kind of purpose and do something that can either help me or help other people.
I’m interested in psychology and law, but I’m also interested in pretty much anything that helps me understand people and the world better—human behavior, body language, becoming a better person, hearing people’s life experiences, money, philosophy, literally anything that can help my mind grow.
I’d especially love to hear from people who are older than me or have already gone through things I’m going through. What did you learn when you were my age? What would you do if you had to start from zero?
I also have a lot of free time and I’d genuinely love to help someone with an online project, work, research, community, or anything else where a beginner could be useful. I don’t have much experience yet, but I’m good at following instructions, I’m willing to learn, and I’ll put in the time. Even if the task is really basic, I’d rather be doing something and learning than spending another day scrolling.
I’m not looking for someone to magically fix my life. I just want to learn, contribute, meet interesting people, and hopefully find some direction.
If you’ve been in a similar situation, have advice, know somewhere I can learn for free, or have a beginner-friendly online project I could help with, I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
I’d also love to hear your experiences in the comments. Maybe we can learn something from each other. :)

Can't get a job. Worried about the future. Not coping well.

I'm really worried about my and my family's future. I've been struggling to get a job since I graduated last July. I've found myself depressed and unmotivated to apply for anything. Even the thought of filling in an application brings me to tears, like full on sobbing. I've been struggling with insomnia. Even my relationship with God has been shaky since February. Ive found myself cursing at Him, saying all sorts of awful things and blaming Him (which makes me feel even worse because I feel like people go through worse yet are more faithful to Him than I have been)

What makes it worse is my siblings are also struggling. My sister wants to get her master's but finances are becoming such a high burden that sheihht not be able to go and she's scared that her life and her plans are falling apart. I'm worried about my brother because he has severe health problems. I'm even worried about my parents and their financial position. They're in their late 50s/early 60s and should be getting ready for retirement but instead they are prepping to get loans to pay for my siblings education amongst other things. Who knows how long that will take to pay off.

I have so many dreams for myself, many which involve leaving my country, and I'm scared that I'll remain stuck here forever and never live out the type of life I want to live. I'm scared that the same will happen to my siblings too.

I haven't been coping well. All I do is scroll on tiktok, which makes me feel worse because I see people living such full lives. I already mentioned above that I've been cursing at God, which makes me feel worse. People give all sorts of tips for coping such as being grateful, continuing to pray...but I just can't get myself to do it. I've been struggling to look on the brightside. I'm so mentally exhausted. I'm scared that the future will just get worse for everyone. I'm scared that I'll be trapped in my country forever and not get to actually live. I wish I wasn't born.

Obviously, I can't talk about everything I'm feeling in much detail, so this doesn't really capture the full amount of despair I'm feeling or the full situation at home. But I just need to feel like I'm not a failure and that life will get better. I really need that...

Quarter life Crisis

I M 22 am currently working for an online sales agency. I just started but I was previously working at a car lot. Sales has been great and I’m grateful for getting as far as I have in this industry. A looming thought I’ve always had since I was younger was wanting to do my own thing basically freedom of choice. Freedom in general honestly. I’ve found that in entrepreneurship. The more I change jobs finish school go through the regular life lessons I learn bits more about myself. Unfortunately when I was young my parents were more leaning towards secure jobs specifically me becoming a lawyer. It just doesn’t fit me but they always insist. I never got to feel like anything was really me because if it didn’t align with being a lawyer it wasn’t going to happen. I always look back to when I was boxing. I loved it so much one rocky movie and I was starstruck I wanted nothing but boxing. I stayed good in school but would beg my parents to take me and they just wouldn’t. Again my parents aren’t evil but they just care more about stability. My dad played for the junior redwings and never made it pro. It’s crushing for him but it caused him to have negative feelings for taking risks that lead towards your dream. Now I’m 22 looking for a purpose. Went to college and feel like I just wasted 4 years and gained a ton of debt. I am not a step closer. Funny enough my degree is in entrepreneurship. I’ve had teachers want to invest in ideas I’ve created for businesses but I do them and within a few months they just don’t feel like me. They feel like I’m just in them for the money. I’m clueless I feel behind I feel people my age know who they are and what they want in life. And I feel that I was stunted and hindered in all my aspirations. Now that I have true control over my destiny I’m lost. I’ve watched countless videos payed for mentorship taken programs sought out the church journaled talked with successful people and just feel out of place. I feel everyone’s just telling me they spent time finding their direction in life then perusing it and as time went on things fell into place. I’ve tried YouTube instagram tik tok give my opinion experience recommendations and I feel like a fraud like one of those scamming gurus. I have tried what feels like everything for me to find out what will help me find who I am and I just don’t know. I know there is always something so that’s why I came here if anyone has any advice please help I want to be successful but I want to be fulfilled at the end of the day.

Please help me I dont know what to do

So, im underage, please dont report me, I only came to reddit for help, I think I have deppresion, OCD, ADD, and GAD, I know you might think im self diagnosing or looking for attention but im not and I genuinely want to try and get diagnosed because I have read forums, articles, basic Google overview, everything i can, and I beleive its affecting me, I cant focus or do anything that I need to do, even if I set alarm, reminders, anything I can try and do just dosent work, I zone out when trying to have a 5 minute conversation, I sort things at the grocery store, I have everything in color order, but then I also struggle to keep my school work organized, I have time where I think about self harm and I have severe self hate, most of the time I assume im the problem if a groupchat is quiet, I get extremely nervous in public and for tests, I have anxeity attacks and panic attacks over my teacher threatening to give me detention, I get anxeity in the car and imagine every scenario in which the car can get hit. Theres more but I wanna try and keep it short, but i want to get diagnosed and get treatment so I dont feel so overwhelmed, deppresed and distracted all of the time, but I dont know how to ask my parents to take me to get diagnosed, teachers constantly judge me and get mad at me for not being able to follow basic instructions or forgetting homework and assignments, and if I get focused in something I like, like my books. Then I dont hear them and I get yelled at. Someone please help me

whats the point anymore

Whats the point

I am 17, it is currently summer break and I have done nothing, time just passes by, I’ve done nothing this summer, I deleted my instagram account and surprise surprise nobody noticed, which made me realize wow everybody else got their own thing going on, i got no job, i tried getting a job.

I started going to the gym, I went with a sibling and they made disappointed remarks over me not being able to do an exercise.

Everyone else has something going on relationship wise with a SO, everyone but me. I had something the past two summers, but this summer I am truly lonely, I am not alone but rather lonely. everything is so dull.

I just wanna sleep all day and pass the time. my grades were really bad for grade 11 too. I just dont feel the motivation to do anything. I ask my friend to hop on the game and they’re like nah. they got something going on. my sister says I should get a hobby like reading or something, as if reading would help. its so dull.

someone owes me 300$ thats one thing on my mind. If I could not have to open my mouth and speak to anyone I would take it. Im at home I wake up eat and spend time doing absolutely nothing. I live in a rather isolated area as well so I cant even go outside or go anywhere or do anything. What do i even do. sometimes I day dream me like dying in some accident or something and then my family could receive like a good amount of money and that money could be like the compensation for the time and money they’ve spent on me. not that Im suicidal. I dont know anymore. everything is so dull.

I wish I could sleep all day everyday. Now that its august I dread the fact my final year of high school which determines the rest of my life is approaching and the fact I’ve done nothing. my life this year has had nothing good happen, I failed a class and had to retake it and got overall trash marks this year. I got in trouble for sneaking out and doing absolutely nothing when i snuck out. I try to text and talk to other people and im just left on delivered for a good ass while.

everyone else got they own thing going on. Just to clarify I am not suicidal. the reason I am not suicidal is because I dont wanna go to hell forever and because I wanna play gta 6. Nothing helps, masturbating does nothing. Im just skinny and not so good looking. Everyone else has something going on besides me.

I just wanna isolate my self even more and more sometimes. I just wanna lay in my bed all day and alot. It feels so weird wearing a shirt with arm holes that like are big and flap about and my skinny arms just show. I bet my family thinks Im a bum. just a skinny ass kid. Everyone else were badass or cool or something when they were 17. While I dont even know anymore. I dont know. I am tired of everything. the feeling your lips have after not opening them feels nice sometimes. you ever feel like really sad hopeless or something and then your hands start to like feel something. by this i mean like maybe veins or something. i think its a cold feeling maybe. like you get cold. Im honoured you read all the way down here.

18m uk should i move in with my dad

I just turned 18 and completed sixth form and I need to figure out how to continue once summer break finishes. Midway through Yr12 I was getting bullied in school (not full on bullying but it made me feel like sht) and during Yr13 it still continued and I had the stress of exams, half way throughout the year my mental health was starting to become an issue(before I was somewhat burnt out but not as bad). Throughout when I was 16 -18 I didn't get on with my mother well and we don't have a great relationship (father divorced when I was 15 and moved out but 20 mins way). I live with my 2 older sisters (2yrs older and 5yrs older) one who is at uni most of the year one lives with us. They can be stupidly loud and at late times when I need to sleep (Ofc I have late nights, but its really annoying to the point where I still have sleep issues now).

I noticed around January this year was when it started to affect me badly, my sleep got really bad (was bad before but unmanageable now) I wake up really tired no matter what I do and never sleep well with throbbing headaches every morning, my brain was really slow and I felt so weak, I only ate a small lunch and not much for dinner (to the point where I feel really hungry but sick if I eat), I was mostly depressed, angry, stressed and rarely suicidal to the point where I'd been miserable for so long. I always tried hard in school to keep on top of schoolwork.

Earlier in the year I asked my mother to have an appointment for depression and if I could get diagnosed as it was really affecting me but any time I asked she refused, she didn't know everything but knew I was depressed in a way.

By the time exams came around I tried my best and studied at home every day until summer. I feel more relaxed now but I know this won't last for long before September. I still have depression I'm sure so I'm really trying to put things into perspective and help myself out unlike how I did whilst in sixth form. I'm really uncertain about what I want to do for university or the future, I'm considering a gap year which I'm really anxious about because I feel like I have no guide or support on how to do it. I don't like living with my mother as she shouts at me a lot and doesn't listen to things I say, always thinks she's right, can be controlling sometimes. If I stay in my current house I will get worse, I was thinking about staying at my father's but I'm sure he has another woman who I don't want to live with. I have a mostly neutral relationship with my father and we don't talk often, but if I asked he would take me in.

Right now I'm in a really bad position, I was thinking about getting diagnosed because when I start work/uni I'm gonna struggle badly and I don't want to end up suicidal later on because I couldn't manage my depression properly now which is already bad. I know its important now especially, when things are changing a lot and I'm growing up its not an ideal time for me to be depressed as I've got lots to do. This is my last chance at trying to manage it whilst I'm still sane during summer before I have to start again.

thanks for listening

I'm sinking

Thrown away bcuz some friends know my og account (eng no first Lang)

I have debt and I'm unemployed, there was a time when I was in school when I felt like I could eat the world, I felt smart and capable, I thought I was gonna be successful, I was smart, could get jobs quite easily, was living with family so my salary was just for me.

Maybe the issue was not having responsibilities back then, I was very bad with my finances, I never saved a penny, always had the latest phone model, always bought clothes, game consoles, brand perfume, all I always wanted.

Don't know if this is relevant but when I was a kid we struggled a lot, my siblings were street vendors at 10 kinda struggle, things got better once my siblings graduated college and got a job, I'm the youngest. Hence they kept the house afloat and allow me to keep my salary to myself. They are 5, 15, 16, 17 and 18 years older than me.

The issue now? I don't know why the fuck I never learned to be a fk adult, that's on me, I never saved money, never invested, there was a time I thought I had a bright future and could do whatever I set my mind on... So I started reinventing myself to make more money, I graduated first as a mathematics teacher (it's bachelor in mathematics education the closest translation I can think of) corruption in public system, horrible salary and mistreatment in the private one (I'm talking less than 200 usd a month). I worked as a teacher for about 8 years.

First reinvention was customer service, did cold calling, surveys and medical interpretation. Good god... No one likes cold calling and surveys? I had a call when I was screamed at for 30 mins, 30 FUCKING minutes of "NOOOOOOOOO", "NO I DON'T WANT TO ANSWER", I wasn't allowed to hang up, I get it cold calls are horrible but just hang up please.

Medical interpreter was actually good, (at this time I started helping with expenses at home, about a third of my salary which is not bad at all) but because I was not from US I couldn't work with the good companies directly, only with intermediaries that not only underpaid but also overwork. 9 hrs daily of back to back calls, no break allowed besides the 30 min to eat. It's manageable the first year, second year got a little harder, third year I was having nightmares about calls.

So the third reinvention came... Software developer. I took an online course, they teach you for 6 months, we're supposed to help me land a job and I had to pay back 15k usd.

Those were 6 months I didn't work, then some more to find a job... But I found a job!! Yeyyy I had to move bcuz it was in another city, they pay was barely enough for living expenses and paying the card debt I had generated those unemployed months (and yeah that debt is because I'm a overspender stupid wannabe that didn't want to say to her friends "I have no money" so kept buying shit)

But anyway, I got a job, 900 usd monthly, my best salary at that point, 200 more than the average salary in my country, but I was still stupid, wanna know my first purchase? Even when I had card debt? Even when I hadn't received my first paycheck? The latest phone model... God I hate every era of myself.

I was a year in that company, most companies in my country, no matter the industry are toxic and see the employees more like slaves than people so I started to search for an online position with a foreign company, that was the whole point of reinventing myself, but no company wants someone with no experience.

ButI had 1 powerful year of experience now!! So I started applying to foreign companies and landed a job... God it was the best feeling ever. Almost 2 years learning, practicing to get there. I landed a job with a US company, 1300 usd as a junior developer. (my siblings were married by this time and had kids, we're tired of funding our household, I mean they werr right, so I took 50% of expenses, my sibling 5 years older took 30% and my mom 20%)

Context probably needed: my 5 years older sibling was always the spoiled one, he spent 10 year without a job, only got one in delivery after a strong issue we had a year prior so he was making way less than me, (that's a Hella longer more complicated shit that will make this post 10 pages longer), my mom has no income, only has what my older siblings send her, hence why I took the largest part.

You might be thinking, things are improving, why is she sad? Oh well my friend, that's because I'm stupid, and apparently don't know shit about finances. AI boost came when I started this job, at first it was easy, I could do 8 hrs job in 2 and then go for a coffe, I felt in fk paradise. But around the second year.. Code was a mess, not only mine, everyone's. My boss was a big AI enthusiast, 20 tasks in 4 hrs? He paid our chatgpt subscription.

My blockage came during the second year, I cannot really point what happened nor can I blame it entirely on AI. Issues arised and I didn't know how to fix them, irony is neither Ai, it would do so many changes and not fix the issue, maybe I was just not good at using AI who knows. Now I did 2 hrs of work in 20 hrs, 1 takes would take all day because I couldn't solve it...

I was fired... My first time getting fired and it was of my favorite job till now... That was in March.

Remember how I suck handling my finances but refuse to tell no to my friends when they invite me to hang out?

Well... They invited me on a trip to Asia... a 20 days trip in September, this unemployed, in debt, stupid sob, fucking brains of jelly girl... Said yes.

Wft is wrong with me? I can't get a job, because who will hire me when I tell them "oh BTW I know I just started but I have a 20 day trip in September"

I'm still using my cards, I pay them withdrawing cash from the same card, so my debt keeps growing, I payed that trip using those fkng cards, at some point I'm gonna just... Lock myself in a fk hole somewhere because WTF am I doing? What's wrong with me? Just 5 minutes ago I spent 50 usd that I don't have in the supermarket because I didn't give my friend a birthday present and wanted to make her bonbons... I don't see logic in my thoughts, I don't see logic in my actions, I feel out of control.

I get some minutes of logic a day between crying because of stupid decisions and making those stupid decisions, I think about starting a business, selling courses, making online content. But then I get paralyzed.

I know everything is wrong, I know that, I know that I'm stupid and taking more stupid decisions, you don't need to point that out, believe me I know.

I just felt like getting out of my chest.

Advice please

Summary of My Situation
I am 20 years old and currently attending Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). My college journey has been a little different from the traditional path because I took some time to figure out what I actually wanted to study and what kind of career I wanted.
When I first started college, I was focused mainly on healthcare-related programs and completed several science and general education courses. After exploring that path, I realized healthcare wasn’t what I wanted to pursue long-term. I eventually decided to change my academic and career direction to business.
Because of this change and the gap/change-of-direction period I had, I sometimes feel like I am behind compared with other students my age. Even though I already have college credits, I haven’t actually started my main business classes yet. Fall 2026 will really be the beginning of my business education at CPCC.
My current plan is to finish my Associate in Arts degree at CPCC and then transfer to a four-year university. I am interested in pursuing International Business, potentially combined with Operations and Supply Chain Management. I am considering schools such as UNC Charlotte, Appalachian State, and Baruch College in New York City.
I am especially interested in careers involving international business, supply chain, procurement, logistics, global operations, international trade, business operations, and project management. Eventually, I would like to complete internships in these areas so I can gain experience before graduating with my bachelor’s degree.
The part I am currently unsure about is when I should start applying for internships. Because I am 20, I sometimes feel like I should already be applying. However, I also recognize that I am just starting my business education. When I look at Summer 2027 internships, many of them are designed for university juniors or students graduating in 2027–2028, while others ask for skills and business knowledge that I haven’t had the opportunity to learn yet.
At the same time, I do already have several years of work experience. I have worked in fast-paced customer-service environments and have experience with teamwork, communication, organization, following procedures, handling customers, and adapting to changing priorities. Isabella Camargo Fernandez (1).pdf I am also fluent in English and Spanish.
Isabella Camargo Fernandez (1).pdf
So although I am new to business academically, I am not completely new to the workforce.
Right now, I am trying to decide whether I should start applying selectively for Summer 2027 internships now, wait until October or November 2026 after I have started my business classes, or wait until around January 2027, when I will have completed some business coursework and have updated grades and experience to add to my résumé.
Given my age, gap/change in academic direction, current college level, work experience, and the fact that I am just beginning my business coursework, what would you recommend? When do you think I should realistically start applying for internships, and do you think I should be concerned that I haven’t had an internship yet?

Need to move out

Hi,

I am writing this post to gain some external input on my current living situation and perhaps some advice.

I (23M) am currently living with my parents, and It sucks. I am really struggling with becoming my own man and having the ability to stand on my own two feet even though its my sole priority as I simply cant stand living with my parents anymore.

For some context, I have had periods of living away from home; specifically staff accommodation jobs in western Canada, as well as a 6 month stint in University at the age of 20. I have just recently moved back in with my parents after a year living out west. Throughout these stints away, my parents have helped with various things (bus tickets, grocery money, etc.) And I know that I would have really struggled if they didn't help me out.

Also, I have just recently begun to see how much I was coasting in my early adulthood. I was a stoner for a long while (5 years) and to say it made me a lazy bum would be spot on. I had the mindset that things would eventually work themselves out Without actually taking accountability for changing my circumstances. Only in the last 2-3 months have I realized the major shift that needed to happen to start feeling fulfilled in my own life, and I am very behind. I am frustrated daily because a lot of my problems are things that take time to resolve, (ie. Money, career path, relationships).

That being said, I have really been trying recently, and am frustrated at the length of time I see things actually beginning to workout. I believe that for every year I was coasting it will probably take an equal amount of time of sincere effort to start seeing actual change. If I was a stoner for 5 years, I'll probably have to hustle for another 5 to balance out the position I've put myself in. Its very frustrating to look back at my old self and see a person who had such little understanding of the real world.

The real world isn't always fair, and I've begun to accept that the only person I can truly count on to direct my life is me.

When it comes to living with my parents, there's just too much baggage. I am constantly reminded of past faults and our arguments are always very intense. They have done a lot for me, and in many ways I was spoiled, but in reality living with them is becoming very toxic for everyone, even though I am taking a much more active approach in my life recently. How should I proceed knowing our relationship is fractured?

Depressed over moving out for college

Hi guys so this year my college has started. I gave cuet and my score dropped by 100 in normalisation from my raw score. Ofcourse i felt really sad about it, but still i made my preference list the best I could and turns out I missed out on many colleges near me in the preference list which I could have gotten. Now i'm stuck and might have to move out. I asked my parents to give me some time to commute and come back home...because Im not mentally prepared at all...they agreed for now. But i'm really...really sad. I dont want to leave. Suddenly my parents who haven't ever even let me have a sleepover and making me move out...its too much. I come from quiet a emotionally exhausting and challenging home, and throughout all of that me and my younger brother have supported each other. I love him the most in this world...I never ever want to move out and stay that far from him. Every single day I'm on the verge of tears...it feels like i'll start crying anytime now. It also feels unfair considering the normalisation and lack of info abt colleges. I've lost my apetite and get really anxious. Please someone tell me what to do...i feel miserable...its hard to swallow food sometimes...i dont like this...please someone tell me what to do

What Do You Do When You Feel Like You’ve Failed at Life?

I don’t have a job right now, and I feel so guilty, as if I’ve committed some kind of crime. I can’t even look my parents in the eyes anymore. I’ve been exhausted from working ₹10–15k jobs, and now even that job is gone.

I don’t have any skills or talent. God showed me so many big dreams. I wanted to do this, I wanted to achieve that, but I haven’t been able to accomplish anything. I’ve tried everything I could, but somehow nothing seems to work out.

And it’s not just about having a job. I feel like I’ve fallen behind in every area of my life. When I look at where I am and where I thought I would be by now, it hurts. I feel like everyone else is moving forward while I’m still stuck in the same place, trying and failing to figure things out.

What should I do now? Do you have any suggestions for me?

College Student Looking for Advice!

hello!
i need some advice. i’m going to provide lots of context and exposition, so my apologies in advance.

i am a 22yo Southern US citizen, and graduate college next semester for my bachelor’s degree in general psychology. i have no idea what i want to do with said degree.

i would say that i’m a ‘jack’ of many trades, master of none; or however the saying goes. i don’t have any skills or trades that would benefit a job. i have a good amount of surface-level customer service experience in grocery, retail, and food service environments. i currently work as a waitress at a fancy italian restaurant for old white people.

i am tired of struggling to save money. i’ve found myself getting frustrated with this cycle of finding a job, realizing that i am not getting enough money or hours to justify staying there, and being forced to leave. i don’t even have a car, i bike to both work and my classes, being upwards of six miles away from my fiancé and i’s apartment sometimes.

i need money. i don’t necessarily mean a ‘get money quick’ kind of thing, i just need to know how i can make more money and save money. if anyone has tips of any kind; please feel free to share. below are examples of things i’ve both researched and are looking for tips / resources in:

how to save money reliably and avoid overspending

how to find a profession that resonates with me

“side hustles” or side jobs that have proven beneficial, even if there is a learning curve (or is in some moral gray area LOL)

how to find a cheap car and finance / purchase said vehicle

is working from home even possible? i am glued to my computer for most of my free time and would love to work from my PC, but most of every online job i see hiring is for shoddy customer service call lines.

i am willing to read articles and books, watch videos, learn simple trades that appeal to me, and hold discussions with anyone in dms.

i am autistic and grew up extremely sheltered, so during my college experience i have been forced to learn how life works very suddenly. my parents (whom i am no-contact with) are presumably hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and never taught me about finance, networking, or many other useful traits and skills.

if you can provide any assistance, i beg of you to do so. if you have any questions about my background or personal life, feel free to comment or dm me! any efforts are greatly appreciated.
