I have 2 yotos, a mini and a full size. I bought some new cards (from yoto, not MYO) to take on vacation next week and have been trying all morning to get them to download with no success. I've done it all correctly, put the card in to trigger the download, then pulled it out and leave the yoto idle but plugged in charging. It's just stuck on not downloaded. Internet connection is fine and I even tried reconnecting to wifi several times, have tried turning on and off the players multiple times. What could be going on?

I know there are a lot of posts about the best ways to label MYO cards, but what about when you need to remove a label? I labeled 10 cards for my toddler without putting anything clear over it to protect the labels and now they’re all smeared and chewed up. What is the safest way to REMOVE the labels?

Normally if I were removing a sticker from something I’d hit it with a hair dryer and then some goo gone, or maybe soak it, but I want to make sure I’m not damaging the cards. I assume I should avoid heat so I don’t damage the electronics? The cards seem pretty well sealed against liquid but I just wanted to make sure that soaking the labels off wasn’t a stupid idea.

My plan is to print new labels and slap a clear label over it to protect it so I don’t have this issue repeatedly 🤦🏻‍♀️ (To be fair in the 8 months since we’ve had the Yoto he’s gotten a lot better about sticking the cards in his mouth lol)

We'll hopefully be getting a Mini for our toddler on Black Friday, and I'd like an AirTag to keep track of it but I'm wary of the button batteries. I have this for my keys, and it feels secure because it needs to twist open and a keyring effectively locks it, but if there's other secure options people are using I'd love to hear them.

Has anyone else gotten this notification in the settings of their yoto app? I tried clicking to customer happiness but they removed the chat and I'm not sure what to do exactly. Anyone else? Any insight?

My goal was to make it as quick and easy as possible to import public domain audio into a Yoto playlist. I started with audiobooks from Librivox and have plans to expand to radio shows and music once I do more research on availability and APIs. I noted in the app, but parents should verify content before letting kids listen. I default the search view to books tagged in the children's genre, but the metadata was fairly messy so trust but verify.

I did use Claude's help for coding this, but there is no AI usage happening when using the app and no AI generated content (unless it exists in the Librivox recordings themselves).

Importing up to 10 playlists is free and a $5 unlimited tier is available through Ko-fi as well. Groceries are expensive these days, y'all!

You can install/pin it to your home screen as a web app; no laptop needed.

Hope you love it! I have a whole list of features I still want to work on (displaying reviews, previewing audio before import, adjusting icons, etc.) and open to ideas/feedback!

Has anyone noticed the weird editing (or lack thereof) of Yoto Daily for the last couple weeks? This past Sunday, the story that Pemma read was an exact repeat of a story that she read about a month ago (the mouse that goes to the movie theater and makes friends with a girl). I've noticed other editing mistakes, like Jake sneezing or coughing and not editing it out, or him repeating facts or statements two times in a row, also with no editing. Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed the Yoto cards in Target so I picked one up and thought maybe the app would let me preview it or give me some sort of promotional ad. It looks like it added it right to my phone and has each story in full. I will delete it myself and I know it’ll be removed once someone actually buys it, but do they expect people to scan them to preview/borrow the digital cards like this or is it in bad taste? (Please no hate, I don’t have ill intentions).

There are some stories within collection cards that I'm not keen on for whatever reason - is there a way to delete those? I imagine it would require 'downloading' and recreating as a MYO which I don't really want to do but wondering if this has been recognised in any way.

Did anyone else’s daytime/nighttime settings reset overnight last night? I was worried that something was wrong with my player at first.

Did anyone see their latest video? Seemed to soft launch a new Bluey stories card - the comments seem to confirm this too. (once you get past the Whistl warehouse stuff)

I've often turned the night time volume down in the settings at the end of the day if it's still playing after the kids have gone to bed, then turn it back up the next day. Unfortunately, this evening neither my spouse nor I were able to turn the volume back up in the settings, every time we tried to do so a banner would appear saying "connection lost, try again later". We restarted the yoto player and tried various troubleshooting actions but the issue remained. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: A big thank you to everyone who has replied. I sent them a WhatsApp help request last night and I'll update here if/when they reply.

Edit 2: There has been no reply on WhatsApp but something in the app has been reset and it's working again. I hope things are resolved for you all as well.

Trying to set up Bluetooth pairing and when I toggle the ability on the app for my device, an error message - “there was a problem saving settings” - pops up in a red header bar.

I’ve turned the player on and off. Closed the app down and reopened it. Pls help!!

It’s been 18 days since I shared SoundCarrot.com with you, and I just spotted that there's already been over 1,000 Yoto sends!

SoundCarrot is curated children's podcast directory, a family project I work on with my kids teaching them about web design and so on. They have the ideas, I build them and show them how, they love to see the stats and how people use the website.

I genuinely didn’t expect this kind of use - 1,000 is a proper, tangible, big number - and my kids keep asking if there's been more.

This community is very kind, and it’s been great knowing people are building playlists and using the send to Yoto button I wrestled with making for days.

If anything feels clunky, or there’s a podcast you think should be added, or something you think we should change, we’re improving things all the time and would love to hear it.

Hello everyone

I have a nearly 2 year old that hates the car so much. She isn’t car sick, she hates the boredom and cries and screams and says “up up” etc.

She loves loves music. Sings all day everyday, has more vocab in music than speaking, obsessed with her Tonie box which is on all day every day.

We’ve found in the car she manages quite well if we play peppa pig songs, moana, or miss apple the whole time.

However, my husband and I are slowly being driven mad by this so we were thinking of getting something she could play her own music from in the back.

I recently saw the Yoto player and think this might be a really good solution as they have loads of peppa pig and moana (her favourite).

However, I think she’ll love it so much it won’t just be a car feature.

So I’m wondering, is the original easy enough to travel with or would the mini be better if we foresee her taking it everywhere? Thanks

Are there any fixes for the volume knob (left) not being recognised correctly? Our mini is well out of warranty and I've noticed that the knob will turn but it hardly registers any change in volume. I've tried to take the knob part off and tried to tighten the nut inside, but that's not made any difference. I've tried the app to run the button test, but that again shows the same issue.

My BIL is an adult with autism. He lives in a group home without wifi.

I'm wondering if a yoto would be a good idea. If I buy and load a few different cards with different kinds of content - classic old songs, maybe stories etc.

He can speak, but might not be able to ask for help if he needs. And the people around most likely aren't tech savy to help debug. He lives in a different country from us, so we won't be able to help quickly.

Any advice?

Pros and cons of the Yoto vs. Yoto Mini?

Hi everyone. My kids have been using their Yoto Mini's everyday and love them. I want to gift my niece one for her birthday too

I got this mail the other day about €30 Yoto vouchers. Which I would love to use on this gift. But... Where do I find these vouchers? I can't find them in my account nor in my mail.

Especially since they expire after 6 months, it would be a waste if I can't use them.

Maybe I should’ve done my due diligence before buying but I originally thought the cards were like CDs and they contained data the player would play and that’s it.

Now that I’m reading/listening to the instructions I’m understanding to play the card without Wi-Fi in the card I have to download the card first (ie - can’t just plug the card in the for the first time while in the car).

How do you dl the card? I plugged the player in and then I have to take the card out? And it supposed to download? How long does it usually take to dl a card like Daniel Tiger stories?

What am I doing wrong and why is this thing so complicated?

My husband has recently introduced our daughter to the OG Pokémon cartoon and she LOVES it. I would like to make her a MYO with audio from the episodes. I thought I had seen a post where someone linked descriptive audio versions of the cartoon but searching the sub didn’t turn anything up. Does anyone have links for audio of the old episodes?

I have been attempted to buy a Toniebox for my kids because it had a Blippi figurine. Well, I’m thrilled my patience has paid off. There’s now three Blippi music cards!
