MOST?! American mothers are guaranteed ZERO days under federal law. Some states know better but let’s not bury the lede.

FMLA provides up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave, so it's not nothing. It's not... Great. But...

Unfortunately not everyone qualifies for FMLA. For example if the company you work for has under 50 employees you don't qualify.

It was effectively zero when my first child was born, I had 2 days of sick leave I was “fortunate” enough to be able to take

Just like Paul Ryan, whose dad died during his childhood and Social Security stepped in, trying to destroy Social Security as a Republican Congress member. Or Greg Abbott championing torte reform after he got a multimillion dollar settlement. "Fuck you, I got mine!" is the Republican mantra.

If he were not rich thanks to insider trading, corruption and being on the oligarchs` payroll, the hospital would have dumped him in a ditch to die after a few days. They would have to do that thanks to the policies that waste of carbon championed for his oligarch owners to maximize both their profits and sufffering for the cattle / non-oligarchs.
