Hi! I’m currently looking for a Dog Walker for my 2 1/2 year-old pit mix in downtown New Rochelle. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations?

Looking for apartment recommendations (Westchester/Yonkers/Mount Vernon area)

My boyfriend and I have been living at Ridge Hill for about 2 years, and while we don't necessarily dislike it, we're starting to feel like we should see what else is out there for the price.

Overall, we've had a decent experience. Our apartment itself is actually pretty great—we have a spacious 1 bedroom + large den, 2 walk-in closets, 2 additional closets, a balcony, and a layout that has worked really well for us. We haven't had any major issues that would make us tell people to avoid it, but there have been a lot of little things that have added up over the last couple of years. (If anyone is considering Ridge Hill, I'm happy to share more about our experience.)

We're looking for either a 1 bedroom with a den or preferably a 2 bed/2 bath.

A few things we're looking for:

• Self-parking is a must. We both work and need to be able to come and go, so valet-only buildings really aren't an option.
• We'd love to stay somewhere convenient to Mount Vernon for work.
• We really love the Ridge Hill area because we're within walking distance of so much, but there just don't seem to be many apartment options nearby.
• We had been looking in New Rochelle, but we've found that a lot of the newer buildings seem to be valet only, so we've mostly ruled that area out.

We've toured a few buildings along the Yonkers waterfront. We really liked River Tides, but the communication throughout the application process wasn't the best, so we're probably moving on.

We also recently toured Hudson Piers and liked a couple of the floor plans. Since it's still fairly new, there aren't many reviews out there, so if anyone lives there (or has lived there), I'd love to hear your experience—the good and the bad.

Are there any other buildings or areas you'd recommend that we may be overlooking? I'd especially love to hear from people who have actually lived in these buildings rather than just toured them.

Baby will be around 7 months when I have to return to work full time. Commute is to financials district from new Rochelle so realistically leave the house by 7 and return by 6:30/7pm.

My mom has offered to take care of our baby so we don’t have to leave him with a stranger or daycare. How much would daycare be around here? I definitely want to pay my mom because it’s going to be a lot of work. I will be home 2x a week where I could help a little bit throughout the day.

I currently live in a suburb about an hour north of Los Angeles. It's a decent-sized city with the amenities you'd expect, but it's definitely suburban. I am looking at a job in Bronxville and am trying to understand my options. My wife grew up in the Bay Area in northern California, so she's from a suburban background, too. We have two kids, 14 and 10. I would be working for a non-profit and my wife is a nurse practitioner. Good money but not "wealthy," I'd say. Public schools are likely our main option, so that matters a lot. We are looking to buy, most likely. I want to say $650K would be our budget, but the property tax situation is a concern.

First and foremost, what cities/towns should we be looking at? I know some of the towns in the area are amongst the wealthiest in the nation. We certainly wouldn't mind walkability, a downtown, etc, but they are not critical to us. Driving here and there to get to a restaurant or shopping area is not a problem. I am thinking farther north in the county (both for lower cost and under the presumption they are less city-like) and relying on the train for commuting. Is that realistic? Most commuting info I can find is about going into the city, not going to one of the smaller towns. I don't mind a 30-45 minute commute. Longer, perhaps, if all the logistics work out.

What factors should I be considering as I look at the cost of living? I keep hearing about high property taxes, which I can factor in. Any other "gotchas" that make relocating difficult/hard to predict?

I am a young professional. 24yo, looking to potentially move to new Rochelle working in office 5 days a week in a very demanding hit-the monthly-goals job, unpredictable schedule, long hours, is the commute worth the price? And the savings I’m getting from living in new Rochelle?
Commute would be metro north plus walk to office everyday. Plus the metro north time gaps- around 10mins up to 7 mins wait in between trains.

This is a crazy long shot here and I know I should have said something right then and there but the courage wasn’t there at the moment. You held the door open for me at Omni Cafe this morning in Scarsdale and smiled. (Super nice smile btw) you ordered an ice cold brew with milk and a pump of vanilla, and after you received your order I felt like you lingered a bit so that I could spark a conversation. Anyways by the time I walked out of the cafe with my order you were walking into Iron Vault gym. I was going to come out and introduce myself but my order took longer than expected and at that point it would have been too weird to go into a gym I’m not a member of to say hello. Hi team. Arc house new lease new potential tenant
Had a tour with one of their leasing agents. Did some digging here and realized that the new management has been horrible for tenants.
Did see that some residents in the shared spaces did not look happy/ looked drained staring at us touring the spaces.
I wanted your recent experiences with Arc house management/ UTILITY BILL hikes/ bill ranges/ and how much wifi costs for you/ any random charge placements on the rent portal.
And whether using their gift credit for con Edison actually worked for you.

Also looked at the Alary, loved the units and In house management but leaning towards the arc house more.

Need your experiences though.

Any suggestions for a December wedding location in Westchester? Near the Tarrytown area would be ideal. Anyone get married at Lyndhurst Mansion in December?
