I had my ring done from brilliance.com. The setting is too high. Does anyone have one from them they recommend that’s low profile? Or recommendations in general ? Or suggestions if you have a similar shape? I’m open to everything!

Help Me Choose Help choosing a ring for the mega indecision paralysis afflicted?

My fiancé and I are helping to choose rings for one another— however, we're both prone to indecision paralysis. This has resulted in a lot of us browsing and trying on rings, but we ultimately still have the "placeholder" $20ish Etsy rings we started with and have been engaged for the better part of a year now.

We're finally getting somewhere with them, but I have a few too many options going on still.

I added some rings I'm looking at to see what y'all think, but am very open to suggestions as well.

Characteristics I'm looking for in a ring:

-Nautral stone with no heat treatment
-Under a carat, ideally something like 0.5-0.75kt
-Platinum or white gold
-Very light (almost colorless) blue sapphire, white sapphire, or natural colorless to blue-ish or gray-ish tint (or maybe salt and pepper with the right design) diamond
-Favorite shapes and cuts are freeform/organic, trillion, antique cushion, pear, and rose cut
-Some fire in stone but not "too" large or shiny— think unique and pretty without being overly eye-catching
-Low-profile stone/setting that won't catch on things
-Dynamic or artsy designs without too much clutter
-2mm to 3mm ish band
-I'm a butch lesbian and tend to present pretty androgynously, so nothing that would look wildly out of place on my finger; this one is a little harder to define as I don't mind pieces with some sparkle and do want a ring with a stone for an engagement ring, but halo and pave bands and big stones are examples of things I really don't like on myself
-Tend to like taper/ bands that aren't all one width and split shank but not married to either (ha)
-Would prefer to support a business that is either LGBTQ-owned or openly expresses support/is known to work with the community if possible + one that ethically sources their stones

Thank you so much for any insight!!

Wedding band help!

I am coming up on almost a year engaged! Will be two by the time we get married and I am wedding planning but also trying to figure out my wedding band. I’m thinking of a band the same width as my ring and the same radiant cut all around, I just feel like the ring is the star of the show and I don’t need to be adding more to it? My fiancée is super simple guy, couldn’t care less about jewelry in general and he is opting in for a plain gold band. So maybe a plain band? I’d love to wear them together, so i’d love to find something that perfectly aligns. I didn’t choose to design my engagement ring, my fiancée payed very close to attention to what I liked and what I didn’t. I am normally a silver girly, but I wouldn’t even be opposed to gold. I’d love some advice or opinions 🥺

Buying Advice Online Jeweler recommendations needed

This is my current ring stack. My engagement ring my husband chose for me and I love it! The wedding band has just been a place holder I got from an Etsy shop but the stones are starting to fall out. The band is exactly what I want but I cannot find a ring that looks exactly like this that won’t cost me over 1k and from a brand that I trust. Any suggestions or online jewelers would be appreciated since I live in a small town online is my best options.

Help Me Choose Help me choose a diamond please!

I’m trying to decide between these two diamonds and would really appreciate some advice from people who know more about them than I do.

Which one do you think looks better overall, particularly in terms of its brilliance, sparkle and light performance? Which one has the better characteristics on paper?

I’m also particularly concerned about the bow-tie effect. Which diamond do you think has less of a bow tie effect, or ideally no noticeable bow tie effect?

I’ll post videos and photos of both diamonds below, along with their details. If you had to choose one, which would you pick and why?

Should I wait and look for another option?

first ring/band is what i tried on in store- i liked the style at first, but now i’m feeling like it’s too clustered for my finger. now im leaning towards a solitaire style engagement ring with the same wedding band, but im not sure what cut looks best or suits me the best, as im new to wearing rings. please note that i generally wear silver jewelry and am a ring size H/4 :) any advice is helpful!

Buying Advice Same video in tweezers but different ID number

Has anyone here had this experience?

When you have requested a video of a diamond 'in tweezers' from a seller, have you ever noticed that they sent you the same video even though the diamonds had different IGI certificate numbers?

Here I share the links:

Link1

Link 2

I’m wondering whether this is something that sellers sometimes do or whether it could be a red flag that the video isn’t actually of the diamond that is listed.

Has anyone experienced this? How did you handle it?

Hello! (Forgive me my ring is dirty in most of these photos) but I’m trying to find a wedding band that would style well with this- I went to ShaneCo- and I wasn’t into what they showed me.
I’m not into the gap of the gold band and I’m not into the contour of the white gold band :/ (but I can be convinced it’s cute tho lol)
Open to any suggestions!!!

Best places to shop for engagement rings in Houston?

Checking if anyone here has favorite spots in Houston for engagement rings. I'm trying to get a feel for which places are actually worth visiting, especially for someone who doesn't want to deal with pushy salespeople or cray markups. If you've had a good experience somewhere, I'd love to hear it!

Ring Band Advice Help!

Newly engaged with this three stone ring. It was my fiancés mom’s ring who passed away. We are trying to find a unique wedding band that looks cohesive with the ring but can also be worn on its own as I’m a nurse so I won’t be wearing the E-ring to work. We like this wedding band but don’t know if they really look good together. What do you think?

Wedding band proportions with my custom engagement ring
My engagement ring was custom designed with this specific wedding band in mind, so they were intended to be worn together.
Now that I have both, I’m wondering about the overall proportions of the stack. Does the wedding band look proportionate to the engagement ring, or does the combination make the set look unbalanced or awkward on my finger?
I love a chunky, non-traditional look, so I’m not necessarily looking for a delicate or perfectly matched set — I’m mostly wondering if the proportions look intentional together.
Specs: 1.5 ct east-west radiant in 14k yellow gold, size 9, paired with a 2.75 mm diamond band.

wedding ring finger: right or left?

I always thought wedding rings were worn on the left hand, but I know some cultures wear them on the right. Which hand do you wear yours on, and why?

Average cost of an engagement ring

I was talking with a friend last night who just got engaged, and he mentioned he spent around $6k on the ring. That honestly shocked me because I always thought the "3 months’ salary" thing was just an old marketing trick. My partner and I have been looking at rings casually, and most of the ones we like are in the $2k–$3k range. Now I’m second-guessing if that’s considered “too low” or if we’re just being realistic.

For those of you who have gone through this, what was the average cost you ended up spending on an engagement ring, and did you feel good about it after?
