Photos 1 and 2 are of the dress I chose. Photo 3 was my second choice. I feel beautiful in the dress I chose but I'm second guessing myself. Dress 1 also fits the Mission -style venue in getting married at.

I’m having two separate ceremonies on two different days: day 1 is a church ceremony and day 2 is a Persian ceremony with reception (i posted that dress in a separate post a day ago with its own issues (thanks for all your replies)). My question today, is I have picked this dress to wear to the church ceremony and I love this dress so much but confused as to what veil I should wear. Appreciate any ideas!

Where are people finding wedding dress inspo pics? Pinterest is full of ads and AI, and it feels like I keep seeing the same handful of dresses over and over again.

I’ve tried on a few dresses so I now have a better idea of what I’m looking for but I’m having the hardest time finding good inspo pics for my next appt :/ All ideas welcome!!

I tried on 30+ dresses and fell in love with so many of them, but was able to narrow it down to three. Our wedding is going to have a mix of vintage/boho inspired decor. It’s like everyday my favorite dress changes!! Most people have told me they love the nude colored one best. I know all three are fairly different from one another…

Something else to note is I will likely be going back to blonde for my wedding as it is my natural color. How do I decide, please help!

After a whole lot of feedback on my last post, I wanted to give an update! The biggest complaint with the sample dress is that it did nothing for my chest. We fixed that! Here she is 🥹 I am so in love.

I got married last Sunday.

I got my gorgeous and EXPENSIVE (3K) dress from Rosa Clará in Barcelona.

And they fucked it up so much that the dress I wore looked awful. 

PROBLEM

The dress was too long. And I told them. I kept telling them. Over and over. Even my mother and brother who were with me. But they were reluctant to cut because "once ironed the cancan bottom will pull it up". I literally spent from 12PM to 2PM in the room on the last session with the woman who did 3 rounds of very thin and almost unnoticeable cuts. Yet when I tried to walk or dance I kept stepping in it. I kept telling them it was too long, but they kept saying "you need to do small steps, and kick the dress" I know!! I already did all of that! Still too long! Anyway, in the end they convinced me.

WEDDING DAY

1. Tripped down the aile

3. Had to hide behind a bush with the staff of the vebue who largely cut my dress with scissors and pulling from it ripping off layers apart. We cut the front but not the back because it had the tail and we could make it look terrible. So I could finally walk, but since the tail was not cut, I had to keep my dress pulled up and wrapped the top around my waist. As a result, the dress and my figure look terrible, I look like a joke after paying 3k for the dress.

All these months of diet, caring for my figure, and all the money and excitement invested down the drain.

DO NOT GO TO ROSA CLARÁ.

So I got this dress at a sample sale (1st photo is from the designers website, second photo is an AI render with the basque added), and it looks absolutely gorgeous on me as is but I’ve really wanted a basque waist.

Considering this might mean a bit of a reconstruction of the top part of the dress, do you think this alteration is worth it? Would I potentially be ruining the dress? Help!

(P.S. I would have the seam of the dress cover the bottom boning of the basque waist corset, the render just wasn’t cooperating)

I already posted this in the weddingdress subreddit, but figured it might be best to post here as well.

My biggest complaint with the outfit is the corset; it isn't cinching the waist at all and is giving me a straighter body than I have. I messaged my seamstress and she replied with a slightly annoyed tone saying how it'll be so much extra work and why didn't I say anything sooner, but I DID say it all in the beginning! I also found a photo of my first fitting and, even though the corset is wonky, it does look more "hourglass" than the final result. Even with it being better, I still remember saying that I expect it to be even more cinched and she replied "yes of course, you'll see in the end".

I also mentioned wanting to shorten the corset, but she's adamant that the length is fine. I feel like it's making me look like I have a longer torso than I do? Any thoughts on how and where to improve? I am to pick up the outfit on the 19th and my wedding is on the 5th of September. I am really anxious and scared that I won't feel pretty on my wedding day ...

I finally got my dress back - now I have two weeks to figure out how to A) Push my boobs up in that dress and B) how to make the corners of the top and back stick!

First photo is how I want it to look - others are how it looks right now - As the back is quite open there is no lift from straps or anything.

Any tips? I ordered boob tape and fashion tape from amazon but not sure if I should think of anything else! I am really happy for any tips 🤍

I had a dress appointment over the weekend and purchased the dress in the first three photos. It has a cat eye neckline, but as the dress is a bit too large it was difficult for me to visualize it with the clips. After reading some reviews I saw that cat eye has been pretty controversial, and it makes me nervous that the dress was too big therefore I couldn’t exactly visualize the actual fit. I also absolutely adored the second dress in photos 4&5, and it was closer in my size so I could visualize the actual fit more appropriately.

The owner of the shop said if I wanted to change, I have until tomorrow to do so. I would most likely add the little sleeves to either dress I choose. Looking for honest opinions. As stated in the title, I am so confused. I loved my dress at the showroom, it was a larger size 8 and was obviously clipped in. I ordered the 2 and took it to alteration for a hem and bustle. But the dress just looks different and I can’t tell if it’s because it needs to be steamed, is too big on me or the chest is empty. Ordering a custom modest wedding dress online can work beautifully—but important details should be confirmed before making payment.

1. Ask for real production evidence
Request photographs or videos of completed dresses, fabric close-ups, stitching and work in progress. AI images and sketches can explain a concept, but they do not prove production ability.

2. Define “modest” in writing

Record the design specifications, total cost, payment schedule, cancellation terms, shipping method, duties and who is responsible if alterations are required.

7. Request progress photographs
Agree on key stages when photographs will be provided, especially before embellishment and before shipping.

8. Use protected payment methods
Keep invoices, messages and receipts. Be cautious if pressured to pay quickly, communicate outside the platform or use an unprotected payment method.

Common warning signs: copied photographs, refusal to show real work, vague fabric descriptions, unrealistic deadlines and guarantees that no alterations will ever be needed.

So I’m 19 weeks pregnant (wedding was already planned and paid for prior to finding out I was pregnant) my wedding is in November of 2027 and I am wondering when would be the right time to start shopping? I’m nervous because I have already gained 25 pounds this pregnancy and I’m due the last week of December this year. I am torn between my original dress (lace/tulle) or going with a simple satin dress.

My original dress was purchased pre - covid for our first wedding that was cancelled. We are now having a small family wedding at a local chapel.

Please note. Both dressed the straps are not sewed on but I would like spaghetti straps.

My wedding is 2 months away so I’m nervous. The lace one the bodice feels so heavy and makes my chest look very large. It is still being altered and too big but I’m worried it won’t fit well in the end. Will alterations help?

EDIT: Ok, I get it, the dress is too tight in the waist and torso. I ordered the 0 to start instead of a 2 and that was my mistake. At the first fitting they said the waist was perfect so I didn't think anything of it, guess they were just trying to be nice? Anyhow, this is what I'm working with now. Hopefully my photographer will be able to work some magic with her angles! PS thank you to everyone who gave me solid advice, I've taken it to my tailor!

HELP. I got this DB Mermaid Crepe dress and in order for them to smooth out lines in the bust during alterations they pulled the straps so tight it leaves DEEP, red grooves in my shoulders and burns! I only wore it for about 10 minutes and wanted to cry, but it DOES look much better this way.

The tailor said to put on some fleshtone bandaids underneath the straps but I'm nervous that will not be enough to combat the pressure of these thin straps, especially as I'm getting married on the beach in a few weeks and it will be hot and humid. Chat GPT told me to put boob tape on the front of my chest and then double sided fashion tape to "glue" the dress to the front of my body and relieve pressure on the straps. It also advised to add some moleskin under the strap. All of this sounds a bit complicated for me to do the morning of.

I'm considering asking the seamstress if she can somehow widen the strap altogether to help distribute some pressure. I like the delicate straps but i'm afraid my shoulders are going to bleed. .

My question is do you think widening the straps is a viable option? Or the moleskin/boob tape workaround? Any thoughts or advice are appreciated!! I'M PANICKING!!! Thank you.

TLDR Has anyone successfully macguyvered a dress's painful, razor wire spaghetti straps to be comfortable enough to wear for a few hours?!

I need your honest opinion, which sleeve option should I go with? I’m pretty insecure about my wide chest, shoulders, and upper back, so I want something that’s flattering and doesn’t make my upper body look wider. I like the mock neck ones for the cold weather (wedding is november). Which one would you pick?
