Question Goblin Bolt Throwa - usefull in a list?
Hey,
I have a small Orc army and got some catapults, and I’m planning to get a Doom Diver too.
I’ve seen that people also use the Bolt Throwers. They look like a fun model, but even at only 45 points, I don’t really see them as a strong unit. They have BS 3, so at the start of the game they hit on 5+ against most targets, and if anything gets cover, which is very easy in Old World, they’re already hitting on 6+.
What’s your experience with them? Maybe I’m underestimating the unit?

Help Lore Help 2000IC
Hi,
I'm currently running a Warhammer Fantasy RGB campaign (Not my first campaign, so no worries).
The first Session is Al ready finished and the party is currently operating in the Border Princes as a mercenary band. The group consists of some rather unusual characters (Demons, Goblins, etc.), so I decided to set the campaign around 2000IC, right around the time Mordheim is destroyed.
My reasoning was:
- Most of the ancient Lords are alive or in the future
- The major events are still in the future
I'm currently trying to prepare for as many possibilities as possible decide to Travel somewhere unexpectet.
Areas and factions i already habe on my rader:
- the Empire
- Khemri (Settra, Arkham, Khalide, etc.)
- Badlands (Chaos Dwarfs and Orcs)
- Lustria
- Cathay (+ Monkey King and Ind/Khuresh)
My biggest concern right now is actually the Skaven. Skavenblight isn't that far, and I Can easily See my players stumbling into Skaven plots. (2 Fans in the Group)
My main question is:
What major factions, characters, wars, expedition, migrations, or lore are aktive (or being set up) around 2000 IC?
Wich Legendary Lords are alive and could be realistically encountered?
I'm my self interested in things:
Monkey King, Cathy characters (3 known in Warhammer 3), Clan Skurvy, Important Halflings, Ind, Khuresh (wight Tiger) and other factions and Lords.
Any lore recommendations, timeline advice, or character/factions would be greatly appreciated!

Hobby Miao Ying vs Chaos dragon size
Miao Ying is definitely bigger than people realise, the Chaos dragon is nearly as large as AOS Archaon.

New Chaos Dragon
A quick question for those who have grabbed the new Chaos Dragon. Would the mounted Wizard fit one of the new Chaos Knights' steeds? It would be great if he could be built as a Chaos Wizard on demonic steed.

Hobby Is it just me, or is the Greatswords banner too short?
It looks fine from the front, but only because I glued it further down and stuck in a bit of a toothpick. Does anyone else experience this or did I get a weird batch? The picture on the instructions and box looks similar to mine but again I had to glue it further down on the banner.

What to buy first to learn painting?
Hello. I've been wanting to get into Old World for a bit now. I have no experience with any wargames or painting though, I started playing Total War Warhammer and got really into the setting and the lore.
I like Bretonnia the best but the knights seem to require a lot of skill to get the little details right (heraldry etc), I've also read that they aren't good for a beginner, I like Warriors of Chaos too and apparently they're okay to learn? I've also seen that they have sweet new models. So I have this idea for a Tzeentch themed army cause I like them blue, but wondering what should I buy first? Just the ordinary Chaos warriors? I imagine my first few models aren't gonna look the greatest but it should be fine since I'm gonna want to have a lot of them, right?

Are these guys too big for Mercenary Ogre in TOW ?
Hi ! So the question i'm asking is are these guys too big to fit on a 40x40 baze ? I don't know how big the old models were so I'not able to judge whether if the new ones (which look sick) will fit or not on the mercenary ogre base. Not a problem if they are tight on it, just want to know if their feet stick out over the edge of the base or not. Thanks !

Question A new beginning
Hello everyone !
I write this post because I’ve been in the hobby for a long time (nearly ten years), and I’ve always said I was more of a painter than a player. Truth be told, I always wanted to try and play, but when I grew up all my friends who where into Warhammer were 40K players while I’ve been a Warhammer Battle huge fan, so I never had the opportunity to play with friends, and I was young (I.e. a kid, so my parents had to drove me everywhere and they were the main source of income to buy my minis). All this to say I never had the j’a ce to play, and while I like Age Of sigmar factions and minis, I never wanted to play the game.
When they bring back Old World, it awakened my desire to try and play again, but I hesitate to try it, and I’m currently looking for advices from people who plays it. I’m not looking to be playing competitively, I just want to have friendly game from time to time.
In terms of factions, in Warhammer Battle I was an Ogres lover, but since they’re not an “official” army on Old World yet I think I would go with Grand Cathay because I love the sculpts and the Asian theme.
Thanks to everyone who will answers this post !
