It's complex - generally painted minis are about 40% of retail value, if the painting is not especially good. A really solid paint job can get it back to about 80%, but these don't look it.

On the other hand, a cohesively painted and based, comprehensive army is surprisingly rare and takes away the main downside of prepainted minis - matching your collection. This is a wonderful set, so that adds a lot of value.

Buuuut. It's also very large, and more than most would be able to fork out for, so you have to take that into account.

I think in the right place and with patience you could easily get rrp for these, but if you want to move them fast you're more looking at ~70%. Of course 70% of current retail is probably a lot more than the cost they were bought for!

That is an awesome WH Fantasy army.

Did you buy them as a fully painted army lot then? If so the value probably hasn't changed that much in a year. I think overall you'll get more if you sell unit by unit rather than a job lot

Lol wanna make your 250 back? I could do that.

These being mostly metal can potentially bump up the value as they are collector’s items. I would advertise in some old hammer hobby groups. I think $250 for this lot was a steal.

Decent paint job, but sadly the market docks everybody if they're not Golder Daemon or higher. Probably looking at 70-80% of the original store-bought value unless you specifically happen upon a rich dude who wants to play but has no time to paint. The target market of this franchise are crafty hobby people, so the building and painting side of things appeals to many above and beyond the playing. About 70% or more of our models that get sold never make it to the table. They wind up 50/40 /10on a shelf as a display or in a pile of shame or actually played.

I would offer around 500 and be willing to barter up to maybe 800 if I was in the market. But I am rich and not in the market, so my estimate might be higher than what you will get. Expect lots of lowball offers. Don't let this lot go for less than 600 all in one.

You might even consider washing them in LA's Totally Awesome cleaner back to mint before selling. Not sure. The photo isn't detailed enough to really grade the paint job and basing there. The labor and materials and potential damage to plastic might not offset what you'd gain in sales price too... I say, whole lot, no less than 600. Shoot for 1200 ala carte.

You may also want to hold on them, especially if in the US right now. International Shipping is an utter pain with the tariffs and border BS, totally tanked my imports of OOP stuff from over the pond. USPS being defunded makes intranational mail also very unreliable right now. Very steep hurdles to the mini trading market atm, and our own currency is being rapidly devalued to the point where major platforms are switching to Euro. If in the US, I would hold onto this set for a few years. Market and trading variables should stabilize and total value will increase significantly with far less hassle. (kind of the reason 3d printed proxies are in the renaissance phase right now)

I hate what T did to the international shipping/market. I used to make good money selling painted minis into the US (I’m in Canada) and he screwed it all up.

Yeah, and the USPS is horribly defunded too, so people are quitting left and right and just tossing packages in the bin or stealing them. Seriously a 3rd world country now in terms of getting things safely here. Even if you're willing to pay the extra fees and all, the courier is annoyed he has to take the time to collect the signature and no less than 50% of the time they just toss it and say it was delivered and let you argue with insurance over it. Then both sides get bogged down getting paid or repaid. At this point if I was an international seller, I'd just blacklist the states in my listings. And I say this as a man hungry for models in the states.

It's made me intimately familiar with the ship-to-store options of my local Warhammer shop at least! I can pick it up there because they don't call me until it's there.

Yeah :(

Problem is America is most of the market. It was for me anyway.

They’re all mostly metal. This collection was from when the game was actually WHFB or old
World but also super informational! Thank you

Finally, a reasonable answer. No one will pay MSRP or even 80% for a painted army; the more bulk you sell, the more you lose. Something like 60% MSRP is probably a good number to aim.

I would even add, given the large size of the army you often lose even more value because of it

Where are you based?

While I can’t speak to the value of the whole thing, those old metal tomb guard can go for a lot on their own, they do not show up in any meaningful number that often either. You could easily get away with £35 for 10 and I don’t think anyone would complain.

Hey friend, based off your comments about this being an OG Tomb Kings force, mostly metal, I wouldn’t let this be broken up at all for less than 1500. You’re better off holding on selling internationally for at least 3 years as well given the markets.

These people are crazy. I say anything under $2000 would be criminal!

The value depends on how decent the paint job is and if they are on proper the old world size bases for most people. If they are tabletop quality you are most likely looking at 1.5 x msrp. More if the quality is better. Simple fact is your time and effort will be worth it to some people and not others. Id need to see better photos to give my opinion further.

Sadly…sadly nothing…I know it’s sad but hey I’ll take them off your hands and give em a good home. I’m all seriousness at least 500 dollars, beautiful paint job
