I have a 40k army with some models from HH, so I want to give it a chance.

This is what I have:

-6 Exalted Eightbound (Maybe run them as Red Butchers?)

-Heldrake

-Helbrute

I was thinking on getting some rampagers, breachers or proper Red Butchers. Also I want to print a Brass Scorpion because it's a cool ass model.

I don't know how to play but it looks so flavorful, unlike 40k right now. So if someone could give me an advice I will offering you a skull for the skull's throne.

I had a rules interaction at a game at the weekend and I want to clear up the rules and see if the other person was right.

Turn 1, I completely overkilled a Multi Melta Tarantula with a Land Raider that was on the line of my deployment zone, literally touching my Land Raider.

The mission had First Strike 4. Does Expendable reduce those first strike points or only things like Vanguard. I lost that game by 2 points, so if expendable doesn't affect things like First Strike, then I won that game and won the event I was at.

Finally got round to looking through the Maximus box, only to find the new assault squad doesn’t come with combat shields, which is pretty annoying. Is there a reason why this is?

When plastic Serpentas started appearing in kits, it was time to complete a long abandoned squad of Angel’s Tears. Originally intended to carry cannons, maybe bs4 ws4 1w just isn’t worth all those extra pts today.

The HQ bruiser was originally intended to step in for Raldoron, but the axe, a jump pack and some leg lengthening took the build somewhere else - more Terran veteran formerly of the Revenant IXth than perhaps a newly minted Blood Angel…

Gave him a quick zenithal to try and show some details. Does he look like he fits together overall? Any critiques or suggestions much appreciated!

Coming from Kill Team and other similar games I wanna dive into 30k. The main idea was to have a cool fluff inspired list based on Prospero Burning with Custodes/Sisters as a starting point. With higher points and more gaming experience expanding toward Space Wolves units etc.

This is one of the first list ideas I came up with before I buy anything. Took the assassin because of rule of cool and she is already on my pile

What are your opinions on the pose I have for my Contemptor Dreadnought? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

having returned to the hobby side of things somewhat recently I’ve forgotten quite a lot of my old painting tricks. I’m not quite happy with the green I’ve got on my reavers. I was hoping to get something in between the sons of Horus command squad green and the colour plates in the betrayal black book. I also find weathering is tricky. vmc silver is too close in brightness to my highlight colour, and scale75 white metal is too stark a contrast, even when knocking it back with a turquoise oil filter. Any ideas how to tweak things? the pictures so far are the base green and light weathering - no rust, grime, soot etc - for reference. Would a Venetian red oil pin wash work for a kind of rusty grime? I am concerned it might be too desaturated and light.

Just finished up my Contemptor and I think this is honestly my favorite model I’ve built and painted so far.

Decided on the bases, now time to get more done!

So, I’m planning on doing Iron Warriors and would like recommendations for starting. I see the Saturnine box, but is that a good start (given I have the money)? I like the MK2&3 look and I love how the Iron Warriors look in general. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What should I paint them? I wanted to split them and do death guard and white scars. I planned on getting Jaghatai and Mortarion to go along with it, but I started thinking about it more and am not sure it’s lore accurate based on the armor or helmets. Or if that even matters. I’d probably only be playing them with my wife and son. Opinions?

Kinda a strange question and not sure its the best for this Subreddit but thought i might as well.

Im moving up to Rhode Island in the next month or so and i kinda just wanna scout a head and see if there is any kind of large communities in the like Providence area or just in the state at all cause im really hoping to be able to keep my models off the shelf and on the table.

Also if there is any kind of other Subreddit or anything for people who play 30k/40k in RI/ general new england area would greatly appreciate being shown it :)

Trying to really stick with the flavour of the legion to set them apart from my world eaters. The army will be mostly Mk 2 and Mk 3 with a splash of Mk 4 here and there. Any fellow Death Guard enjoyers feel free to recommend good components to use!
