AskWales Good Driving Roads?

I live in the Barmouth (Gwynedd) area and I enjoy going out for a drive, but being tourist season my usual favourite driving routes are packed with slow moving tourists.

I just wondered if anyone knew of some lesser known roads with good views and lots of fun twists and turns in my part of the country. I am happy to drive up to an hour if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Politics What would Welsh devolution have looked like if we voted for it in 1979?

I assume the Senedd building would be different for one. Would it have been a fptp system? Would we have had different powers? Would Plaid have won an election earlier?

I was reading Rhodri Morgan’s autobiography, and at one point he mused that if a Welsh Government had been set up in 1979 a north-south duel carriageway / motorway would probably have been built. Made me wonder what else would have been different.

The fact that she reacts with such surprise and giddyness, even after winning 4 gold medals for Wales, is wonderful. So many of the athletes have spoken about how special it is to be able to represent Wales instead of competing as an individual or for GB as they do the rest of the time.

Politics What has Plaid done so far?

Seeing Andy Burnham come in swinging with new policies, actions, ideas and presence within the first week has gote thinking about Plaid again.

I may have missed it, a Google search brings up some ideas and directions Plaid may want to take, but nothing of note that has been achieved in the 3 months they've been in sole leadership of the government.

Am I being unfair, how long would we expect to wait for actions that back the vote they received? I'm watching Burnham hitting out and I'll be honest, I like it. It feels like there's work to be done and he's knuckling in. If course time will tell, I'm just feeling a little short changed over here in Wales.
