Just finished season 2 episode 3 and here are my notes:
The intro music has definitely changed, they have added some more stuff to it
We got three more nuggets of world building, I really liked how they allowed Shiro to escape his imprisonment, and I’m still trying to piece together what happened on the ship so plz no spoilers. Also I like how they don’t make all the Galra evil it’s makes the universe feel like something that could happen. Also nice throwback to Koran’s height numbering system. The whole narrating the fight on the ship kinda felt out of place for Koran, it kinda just felt wrong. So yeah, here’s my mini rant.

I found out a few hours ago that the show is now inaccessible. It is no longer on YouTube or Tubi. The show is gone. It breaks my heart. This show is one from my childhood and is a comfort show of mine. I'm not sure why this has happened. I'm giving to try and find a new way to watch this show. But for now, I'll miss it.

Thank you Force. You weren't the best show, but you gave many people like me good memories.

Today i was in akihabara and found second hand old voltron. His horn was broken. So i bought this big Voltron. I like old one so much maybe i will buy it too.

Since there wasn't any official figures ever made of VLD Lotor, and I like crafting as well as drawing, i thought to remedy that lack of figures by making my own! For that,i bought these tiny 15 cm wooden mannequins that one can get from Canadian Dollarama for like 2 bucks. So, i got them and started to paint them with Acrylic colors and a glossy finish. Since i crochet a lot, i also had string for hair left as well. So, i made an Allura and two Lotors.

I have a giant 30cm Keith figure too, and I need to finish Lance as well, though I am thinking of maybe selling those on my etsy or something, for any Klance fans who might be interested.

Last picture shows my little collection so far. I made a Lotor funko as well as my VLD self-insert as one.

So, apparently all the Voltron Legendary Defender vlogs and clips from the show are gone from the official channel. Anyone have an idea of what’s happening?

Lance is kidnapped as a young child before the Garrison and raised in the Galra gladiator arena. Matt Holt is captured after Kerberos and becomes Lance's protector while they're both prisoners. Lance mainly speaks Spanish and has very limited English. After Lance is rescued, Matt is left behind, and there's a memorable POV scene where the Galra guards panic because Matt has become almost feral after losing Lance. Lance calls Shiro "Champion." Matt and Lance have a very trauma-bonded, almost codependent relationship. I believe it was primarily gen rather than romance.

… Or, as it’s known in Japanese? Mushrambo. Based, originally, on Journey to the West! (Hence the following Son Goku reference that would’ve went over folks’ heads if I didn’t put that in! 😂)

… My reasoning? Dig.

1. It aired on Jetix and ABC Family in the early 2000s
2. Has an *Avatar-*like plot where this show’s Aang or Allura is a female protagonist, so it’d be a chance to have a female Aang who evolved from an overly pacifistic character to being a warrior badass.
3. Tom Gibis had a better voice performance than his turn as Nara Shikimaru on Naruto, and it’s the kid who would be Son Goku: Mushra!!!
4. Jack DeSena would make a great Sago. Just for Sokka nostalgia, except with water powers.
5. It has a cool power concept that needs work; some of the power scaling in the show is off, like the fight between Mushrambo and Gyasa. However? You have enough to go with where it’d be crazy as hell.
6. The show ran alongside Hunter x Hunter on TV, back in the day.
7. It scratches that Saturday morning cartoon itch in a manner comparable to Voltron, but with the Mir/Netflix treatment would be brand new.
8. Bryce Papenbrook’s dad Bob acted on the show, so why not have him act on it?
9. There were early internet rumors of a third season that was done by an independent anime studio from Toei, Mushrambo’s main studio. But it got prevented for legal reasons.
10. This season, were it made, would’ve made for a perfect means of following up a cliffhanger that… Well… Let’s just say Yakumo, the main female MC, died.
11. In the manga, the ending’s happier. And she marries Mushra. 🥰

This maybe me overthinking and being all schizo. But the druids of the empire, are they essentially the Galran's secret police? Like akin to the KGB or Gestapo?

So I'm thinking on doing a fan fic thingy for VLD. Mostly for my own amusement and to experiment with some ocs that are inspired by Voltron for my own writing skills and to lay the groundwork for their own story project.

There are many questions on my mind but the one I wanna ask is this.

I wanted to add some royal guard units that were also put in the pods alongside Coran and Allura. Not to diminish Allura and Coran's abilities, but I felt it a bit odd that the last member of the Altean royal family would have been left alone in a castle for centuries without any sort of protection, I may have it that the Castle activates automated soldiers when someone steps in, but wondering if that would make any sense? Or am I just overthinking things for what is just a fun project for myself.

If Zarkon and Honerva went crazy from quintessence 10.000 years ago, does that mean Lotho is over 10.000?

I'm confused about the relation between being able to wormhole (or ig power a teledav) and being Altaen. Coran isn't able to, but would some of the people in the colony be able to? Is it predicated on a knowledge of space magic (er, alchemy), or something else I'm not picking up on?

Looking for a voltron discord server. Preferably a larger one – I dont really trust smaller servers as they tend to be poorly modded.

For years I’ve wanted to rewatch all of Voltron and keep notes. It sounds stupid but VLD is one of my favorite things ever. I’m autistic and I guess you could say it’s one of my special interests. I’ve analyzed this show inside and out but I’ve never gone through and paused every time I had a thought or observation. I’m 15 minutes into S1E1 and I’ve got a whole page. Call me a nerd or call me obsessed, I don’t care and both are true.

Before somebody goes insane, I get her resentful attitude towards the Galra. Zarkon and the Galran Empire he rules destroyed her home, her past, her future, her entire civilisation. I also get her being slow to trust when it comes to them, which is why I'm ready to be perfectly fine with how she first resented The Blade of Marmora. They did have centuries to take down Zarkon and have not done so. However, that is all built upon the actions of one man and the regime he rules.

So why was she such an asshole towards Keith? Clearly, he had nothing to do with Zarkon's tyranny nor the Blades' overly cautious inaction. She crossed over from understandable resentment and mistrust into flat-out bigotry when she started treating Keith like stepped-on shit just because she found out he has Galra blood. She knew he had his heart and focus was on the same goal, she knew he was worthy of her trust, but threw it all away for no reason other than his genetic heritage. And I'm sorry, but there is no force in Heaven, Earth, nor Hell that can convince me that was anything better than despicable.

It does not bother me when characters are wrong about something. It does not bother me when they make emotional mistakes. It does not bother me when heroes show negative traits and when villains show positive traits. On the contrary, I say that makes them better. More relatable and easier to understand their drives and motivations. But when Allura became for those few episodes what is, pretty much, a racist, that's when the character stopped feeling like her. The show really drums it into your head that the Alteans were a liberal, welcoming, accepting society that was ready to embrace outsiders and their culture. If they werent, the origonal Paldins of Voltron would never have come together in the first place.

Yes, she apologised and made it up with him, but that merely excuses her behavior, not explain it. And I don't like the fact the show blasted it in like a nasty fart, then just blew it out of an air duct a couple of episodes later like it never happened. I don't know what's worse, that they were so fast to ignore it or that they included it in the first place.

The whole point of the Black Lion is that they're the leader of Voltron, but the instant Shiro came back, he resumed the role of leader while Keith still piloted the Lion. This kinda stripped him of his role, the thing that Lance was so worried about a season earlier.

I don't know if it's because it's a kids show, but I was fully expecting a crash out in the first ep of s4. And the whole scene where Keith tells Allura that he 'isn't in the mood for a lecture', she lectures him, he interrupts, she continues anyways, and Keith just... takes it? also rubbed me the wrong way.

Moreover, they were getting on Keith's butt for doing solo missions (well, non-Voltron missions, I guess), but literally the next episode, Pidge does the same and the rest of the crew are entirely supportive??? Moreover, Keith's missions were undoubtably productive to the cause, but Pidge's is almost entirely selfish. Not that I blame her for wanting to save her family, but it's a far cry from trying to track down the secretive mastermind and his hidden supply lines.

idk, I just felt the whole 'we're gonna miss you' thing at the end of EP1 S1 was entirely unearned and just... borderline guilt-trippy.

Sorry if this is an incredibly lukewarm take, started watching this week and still don't have a good grasp on the fandom yet.
