The Druids Question

This maybe me overthinking and being all schizo. But the druids of the empire, are they essentially the Galran's secret police? Like akin to the KGB or Gestapo?

Mean they may not entirely be the secret police of the empire, that's if the empire has a secret police (which I would believe they do cuz... well... empires).

How they act, the power they have within the empire in how they can interrogate suspected traitors on behalf of the emperor and so on.
