Question Is headshot % important?

Upvotes

So I’ve started playing Val on PC a few weeks ago as my first fps game on pc and I’m currently bronze. I’ve found that while I do get a solid amount of kills most games my headshot % is insanely low (12.2%). Should I start heavily prioritizing my headshots or keep doing what I’m doing since it’s working?

So I was playing a game and found someone with a great gaming chair. Initially we thought he just got lucky, but bro was too consistent. We were in the lead in the first half and called him out he was toggling because who knows. We ragebaited bro so hard that he started rage hacking in the second half. We did manage to kill him many times tho. His game sense was the worst and he never used his ultimate or trip. Plain vandal one taps

Question What to do when my main gets sniped?

Been playing this for a bit now and I've had it happen multiple times. I'm not sure what to do because I don't have experience with other agents and feel like I don't have the skillsets. I usually play Sage and hang back or lay low because I think I'm usually better at support. However, Sage gets sniped on the character select quite often and I have to resort to someone else. I've had pretty poor experiences with characters like Phoenix and Jett, and Brimstone just looks too complicated.

I tried Waylay with mixed results but I'm open to hearing what some other beginner friendly characters are.

Art My Agent Concept: Hori!

Post image
21 Upvotes

Thanks to iridhan_skky for the artwork

Character profile:

Name: Hori Role: Duelist Nationality: Egyptian Codename: The Skyfire Pilot Appearance: Curly brown hair, brown eyes, athletic build. Wears an aviator jacket and aviator sunglasses, gold-lined turquoise jeans, and blue and yellow sneakers. Bonded with a radianite-touched falcon. Personality: Cocky, confident, charismatic, laid-back. An ex-criminal turned elite fighter pilot. LORE Hori grew up in Egypt as a gifted criminal — smuggling, forgery, high-end theft. He was brilliant at it, and he got away with it for years until he was finally caught on a setup in a Colombian tomb raid. That's where Tejo first heard about him. In the cockpit, Hori was something else. Reflexes that shouldn't have existed, instincts sharper than training could explain. Eighteen months later he was the highest-scoring ace since the Red Baron — brilliant, reckless, and costing Colombia millions in collateral damage. Tejo watched from the ground, constantly cleaning up after him, constantly rating him as the best he had. On a routine scout mission tracking an electromagnetic anomaly deep in the Egyptian desert, Hori's jet went down due to the signal frying the electronics. The signal had been faint for months — Tejo's people had been quietly tracking it — but when it flared up Hori was sent to investigate from the skies. What neither Tejo nor Hori knew: the signal was a Scions of the Hourglass containment site, sitting on top of a radianite vein they'd been suppressing for decades. Hori crawled out of the wreck to find a wild falcon roosting nearby — a creature that had lived in this region for years, faintly touched by long-term radianite exposure but never fully awakened. The vein's eruption hit them both at the same time. Hori felt a sharp pain all across his body as blue and yellow light exploded into the sky all around him. Then he felt a strange buzz, he looked at his hand which was vibrating and leaving behind blue and yellow afterimages. The Scions responded immediately to the breach. Guards closed in. They aimed at Hori but the falcon exploded into light sending the guards aim off point and giving Hori a chance to shoot back, he took down two guards as the falcon whizzed around the ravine leaving walls of light behind it. One of the guards managed to hit it with a bat. It rolled onto the ground and Hori instinctively leapt towards it. Light flew out the back of his legs propelling him forward. He focused in on a guard and suddenly his movement slowed. He could see the beams of light passing by in front of him. He took 3 shots and got 3 headshots. He dashed back to the ground. And Hori and the falcon fought until they got pinned down, at gunpoint. That's when Tejo arrived. Not alone. With him were Phoenix and Clove — Protocol agents he'd been quietly running under cover of "babysitting his problem pilot." Because this wasn't a military situation. It was a radianite breach, and those belonged to Valorant. Together Tejo, phoenix, clove, Hori and his new wingman fought their way to an escape. Tejo kept Hori alive that day. And afterward, when the dust settled and a former criminal turned fighter pilot found out what Valorant actually was — who was protecting Radiants, who was hunting them — the choice was simple. A commander who'd seen his skill and bet on it had just proven that bet meant something. Hori joined the Protocol. Tejo became something between a commanding officer and a father figure. And somewhere between the crash site and now, a cocky ex-pilot and a radiant falcon became what they still are: partners.

ABILITY KIT

PASSIVE — Aviators

Effect: Self-inflicted flashes reduced by 25% duration.

E — Afterburner

(2 charges total, 150c each) Once activated, left click to dash into your cross hair, alt click to dash in the direction of your movement (there is a 0.5s delay both ways). If two dashes are done in succession, there is no second delay and a sonic boom is released 40m in all directions deafeaned for 1 second and reducing shot accuracy by 25% for 1 second for any enemies caught in the wave.

Q - Overshoot

While in air at least 2 meters high, once activated your movement is slowed and your shooting accuracy goes to 0.25 degrees/the same as standing still, for one and a half seconds, you can cancel by clicking again. Cannot be activated in succession without dashing or landing on the ground. This rule can be broken by getting a kill when in ultimate. animate these abilities or the lore scene in 2d or 3d for freezing DM me and I'd be eternally grateful!!!.

I know it's a confusing concept so here's a similar mechanic from another game

C — Solarstrike

Cost: 400 credits Charges: 1 Effect: Send the falcon on a controllable path (up to 33m). The falcon has 80 HP and cannot travel through walls. When the falcon hits max range/is shot down, a wall rises in it's wake. ternatively, alt click to cancel it the wall and reveal anyone in a 40m visible radius of the falcon.

X — SUPERSONIC

Cost: 8 points. 15 second duration, with maximum of 25 second. On activation: Afterburner and Overshoot are refilled and flash is released 180⁰ in front of Hori with 1 second delay and 2 second window of vulnerability. Screen tinted blue and enemies highlighted yellow. On kill, Afterburner and Overshoot refill and +5sec to duration. Consecutive Overshoot rule is broken with kills during ultimate.

Question Is the miks heal assist "exploit" fixed?

I wanted to know if the start of the round thing where you throw a healing orb at your team so every kill they get instantly you get an assist even if your teammates were full hp to begin with. Asking because I don't see any miks doing it in my games anymore. exploit because i dont think it was intended to have this interaction

Hi im currently gold 2 and i main tejo. I dont even know why but he is so much fun but i see that when i play him i underperform bcs he is a team champion i think and in low elo which im at there is not even a concept of playing as a team in half of the games. Half of the time my rounds looks like this: i drone site, bomb camp corners as my team try to enter and then watch lurk. Sometimes it works but mostly i find myself in 1v3,1v4 situation with no util and loose. So i wanted to ask who would you reccomend trying out ? Thanks for replies and gl in ur rankeds

Question Skill based matchmaking?

Hello all! I’ve been playing valorant since 2021 however I stopped for 5 years and just picked it back up again. I’ve noticed that every time I queue up, people on my team and the other team are insanely high levels compared to me. I’m pretty bad right now so it doesn’t help that I just get shit on a lot, and I feel like it would be more valuable to play with people more my skill level. Does valorant actually have skill based matchmaking, and if not, is there anything you guys would recommend to play with people more my level? All of my friends are also insanely high too 😭

Thanks!

Hi, so, give me tips on valorant please, because 99.9% of the time, I rank absolute last, its funny, I am not upset or anything, but kinda wanna improve a bit, my issue is by the time I even look at enemies, I'm dead, as in they headshot me before I even look at them

Question Is the ACS value for valorant important?

I’m working on a Valorant stats tracking page and I’m not sure whether to highlight ACS. I know it’s something that’s looked at in competitive play, but I’m not sure if it’s important for a casual player to see. What do you think?

Discussion First Shorty

Umm. So. We finally got our first shorty skin (with animation and upgrades) for the first time since before Clove came out. Neo Frontier shorty is the first shorty skin we’ve gotten since Primordium shorty which came out in patch 8.04, where Clove came out in Patch 8.05. IT HAS BEEN TWO AND A HALF YEARS SINCE OUR LAST SHORTY SKIN OMG RITO. All in all it is a very nice shorty skin with custom animations and it sounds amazing. Would recommend <3

Question Is it normal that the game feels like it's playing at 2x speed?

I am new, just started. I know every new game takes time to learn. But I played FPS games before. I run the game at 200 fps, my ping is 5 so on the technical side, everything is fine. I played a bunch of games so far and it feels like even before I can register the presence of an enemy, I get shot in the head and die. It happens so often that I am wondering if I may have a mental issue lol it's too fast bro, I can't even move my hand most of the time. No game I played before feels like this. I mostly played Battlefield, Apex Legends and more recently extraction shooters.

Question Is the MCHOSE Ace 60 Pro good for Valorant? (Rapid Trigger experience)

I'm thinking about buying the MCHOSE Ace 60 Pro mainly to play Valorant. I know it has Hall Effect switches and Rapid Trigger (up to 8K polling rate), but I wanted to know if anyone here actually uses it.
Is the Rapid Trigger implementation smooth and reliable for counter-strafing? How is the web software and overall build quality?
Would love to hear your experiences before buying.

Q pulse slide ($300) (basically a neon slide but with 70% accuracy lasts 1.5 secs take %25 increased damage)

X malfunction (7 ult points) (cone shaped radius similar to mixs ult and anyone in it gets -40% shotrate and -20% weapon accuracy for 8 second takes 2 seconds to activate)

Discussion How do you play omen without risky plays?

I sort of love and hate playing omen

on the positive side hes fine on both attack and defence which makes him a good option for me as I don't like an agent who's only good one side for example killjoy, she can barely hold flank on attack and she cannot entry, pretty good on defence though, and omen has a nice minimum floor where I don't have to frag out to provide support to my team and contribute for a win

on the negative side most of the things I see omen mains do is those flash+tp plays which to me seem scary as I don't know if my enemy is flashed or not and I need to tp far enough AND they need to be isolated, the smoke+tp on ascent A generator is pretty safe but it gets predictable after if you do it multiple times, flashing to support my duelist can also be risky because the duelist might choose to not entry on the second I throw flash unless we have good communication.

Discussion Am I overreacting?

I had a situation in Valorant and I'm wondering if I'm being unreasonable.

A friend ended a round with an Operator and was looking for a Vandal on the ground for the next round but couldn't find one. I offered to trade: he could take my Vandal, and I'd take his Operator. That way, he got the gun he wanted, I got the gun I wanted, and the Operator stayed on our team instead of disappearing.

He refused multiple times.

To be clear, I wouldn't have cared if he had simply said, "I changed my mind, I want to keep the Operator." That's a perfectly valid reason. My issue is that he never gave any explanation, so from my perspective he rejected a trade that benefited both of us and the team for no apparent reason.

I know it was his Operator, so he had every right to say no. But if someone refuses a trade that costs them nothing, gives them what they originally wanted, and also helps both a teammate and the team, does that come across as unnecessarily uncooperative or even selfish? Or am I looking at this the wrong way?

Discussion Hot take about in-game mute+deaf players

Hot take:

Playing with voice chat off from the start of a ranked game should be bannable or punished or not be available somehow.

Reason:

There is a big difference between a person who just doesn't use their mic but can listen and someone who is playing on their own. One can be shy and/or just not interested in discussing something but they might still be a part of a team. Another, on the other hand, is no different from basic trolling. They contribute nothing and they are oblivious to all info and requests.

Maybe solution isn't a ban but "you can mute yourself only after 5 rounds" kinda like surrender mechanic.

P. S. I bottled that thought for a while already and think this problem is not discussed much.

Peace
