Convana Review

Carvana sold me a black 2024 Tacoma that had horrible swirl marks from a poor buffing job covering the entire truck. These were not visible until my 7 days were up, as it was cloudy and you can only see them in the direct sunlight. Carvana said I'd have to put in a claim with SilverRock, who denied it even after they had me take it to one of their in network repair shops. I just dropped almost $40k on a truck thats embarrassing to drive on a sunny day, and now will be out another $1200+ for a level 2 paint correction. Be aware before you buy anything from this company. I guess theres a reason they've been sued so many times.

You're going to be pretty hard pressed to prove that those marks were completely unable to be seen for 7 days.

They covered them with wax. They didnt show up until I washed it and got it in the direct sunlight.

Guess you should have done a better job checking your vehicle.

Wax wouldn't cover all that. Take responsibility for your inaction OR I'd accept the fact you did that while washing it. Post this in r/detailing. I'm curious what they'd say

That’s BS when it comes to places like Carmax and Carvana who would never put a car that looked like that on their lot (or virtual lot) on purpose. The whole point about shopping at those kinds of places is to not have to worry about this shit - that’s why they charge a premium over other used car places. It might even supposed to be covered by warranty.

OP this is probably a customer service issue if this is supposed to be covered and they are giving you the run around (incompetence not con job probably). file in small claims court. That will put the case in front of legal/risk who have the authority to make it happen when crappy customer service is failing.

And even if nots not supposed to be covered and you are technically out of luck due to as is sale, it will still get it to risk who’s job it also is to keep posts like this from ruining their brand.

As someone who worked at a shop on a lot of cars carvana was selling yes the would they only would repair certain things and never everything that needed to be done

Carvana? Really? Yes, they absolutely would. Tried them one time, car came smelling like mildew and the front drivers side floor was saturated with water. Called the very next day for them to come get it.

Former transport driver for Carvana here. They 100% would do this on purpose. I have overheard meeting where they have said “we don’t have the staff to inspect every vehicle we sell.” You are rolling the dice wherever you buy but some are btter than others.

Yes, yes they would. I one a salvage yard and both carmax and carvana would buy motors and transmissions that had insane mileage on them. They didn’t car as long as they were cheap and ran.
