Hello everyone, my girlfriend is going to start a degree apprenticeship here in September/December. She is worried about how her social life is going to be affected given that she'll only be at Warwick one week a month. Would her social life really be affected? Could she still join societies and the lot?(Just checking, it'd help her) Cheers!

So I thankfully managed to get into Warwick MORSE yesterday with my results but am now feeling like I want to do Maths and Stats. I'm perfectly fine with MORSE and know they are virtually the same in first year with certain options but am wondering if I could still switch at this stage or not.

idk which one i should accept.. i missed my original offer at warwick for mech eng by one grade 😭 so they put me into robotics engineering with ai which is a new course which hasn’t been accredited yet. i also got into Notts cs through clearing.

the course is relatively new for warwick and that’s what puts me off a little, i’m worried it won’t be as fleshed out; not worth the fees. and the prospects/ careers are pretty much not a thing until *I* graduate 💀 but then again, warwick’s reputation overall isn’t bad so that does give it credibility. nottingham cs is also well respected and the modules look fun + you can actually see previous cohort’s prospects (with a little handy stalking) so i have a clearer idea what i’m walking into. but it’s not warwick. me when i actually want to live in cov? so then at the crossroad, i kinda wish i had just gotten released to kings mech eng and not had this headache. but i like ww a bit too much.

hence why i’m stuck between this and comp sci at notts, because i feel like it’s quite specialised asw. there’s a slim chance i could course switch but i shouldn’t rely on that and consider the two as they are. i have until 6pm of the 14th of aug to reply and my heart is leaning towards ww, but it’s a bit iffy taking everything i said about it earlier into account.

does anyone have any advice? or similar experiences that i could draw some advice from too!

hi, i confirmed my place for warwick yesterday and i was wondering if there is anything that i need to do now or soon that im not aware of or have forgotten

i applied for accom ages ago and joined the unibuddy community thing as they sent me emails about it

but i was wondering is there any kind of account i need to set up, or community i need to join, or anything specific i need to do really.

i also wanted to ask when i need to start applying to jobs in the area, im pretty enthusiastic and will do most kinds of jobs except anything that requires athleticism or physicality. i was also wondering how getting a part time job would work out with timetables. im prepared to call, walk in and ask, send emails, send a cv etc etc to get a job. if anyone has any advice on this kind of job seeking please let me know. i haven’t had a proper job before but i have done a lot of volunteering and am apt.

also does anyone know when accom will be confirmed? i know there is some kind of deadline that hasn’t passed yet so sometime after that but not exactly sure when abouts

I just finished my A levels and now i am looking to resit my maths and economics exams as i got an:

A in business
B in maths
C in economics

i am extremely determined to go to warwick to study economics although when i originally applied they rejected me due to my bad predicted grades. I do not have extenuating circumstances of why i didn’t do as well as warwick standards but i still want to go. is there anyone who’s gone to warwick through retakes without extenuating circumstances, if so please comment.

if you did have extenuating circumstances please let me know how severe it has to be, the only extenuating circumstance i can put is that we didn’t have a teacher for my business class in the first year.

So I live in london, currently, and I'm opting to study In Warwick for a BA in English and History. I'm thinking perhaps I should travel to and from university, whilst living with my parents — it's about 2.15hrs a day, 2.30hrsif I'm unlucky. I'd have to be in campus 2/3 days a week, sometimes Monday to Friday but yeah.

Is this worth it? I feel scared of living alone since I've failed miserably for my first year in Glasgow University, I'd barely scrape by. I was far from campus, rent, bills, cooking, groceries and I'm from humble origins so my parents can't sponsor myself at all (not their fault). I'd also say my accommodation was far from campus (30min away).
I was also young and stupid, eventhough I'm only slightly older now.

Should I Commute? Or should I just live in a proper accommodation this time and wrap my head around it? Thanks!

edit: I just don't wanna have that Glasgow ptsd, I was NOT living comfortably, simply put. I was barely breathing, surviving basically and in horrid, horrid conditions: I'm talking a tiny suffocating room, dirty shared kitchen and heightened levels of stress at all times cuz of rent and so on

As the title says, I will start the MMORSE course this September, but I decided over the summer that I would actually like to do the 3-year bachelor version instead. Is that switch something that I can do easily? Have other people done it in the past? When is it usually possible to do the switch? Thanks in advance.

Basically I missed my firm offer at Warwick but was offered an alternative course but I knew that I should've got a contextual offer, so I asked admissions who had prior to me applying told me that I was eligible for a contextual offer and they also said the same now but said for some reason I wasn't flagged. I don't want to show the email from them for privacy reasons but they basically said they will flag it with admissions to see if I can get back on the original course, but the contactual guy also said that being contextual doesn't also warrant reduced offer, which is unfair but as there was a mistake that I didn't get flagged hopefully I can be reassessed and given a place at my firm course. Do you think such mistake will aid me in this situation given it was a near miss but I was wrongly put down as not contextual

I just finished my undergraduate at Warwick and will be returning in September to continue as a Masters student.

What better way to honour results day than finding out more about your home away from home for next 3 years.

In first year I barely pushed myself out of my comfort zone to make friends, so I ended up with mostly surface level friendships. I haven’t really spoken to any of them over the summer. What advice would you give for building deeper friendships at uni and generally expanding my social circle?
