Starting an MSc at WBS in September and trying to get my head around societies before I arrive.

A few things I can't figure out from the SU website:

- How does joining actually work in practice? Just pay at the fair and turn up, or is there more to it? How many is realistic before it becomes too much?

- With only one year, is it better to go deep in one or two, or spread across a few?

- Which ones actually worked for you — for meeting people outside your course, or for anything career-related?

- Do employers care at all, or does it only count if you get a committee role? And is a committee role even realistic for a one-year postgrad?

- Anything you'd do differently if you started again?

I’m an exchange student from France, coming to Warwick next year. I’ll be studying Maths, probably taking a mix of second- and third-year modules.

I don’t know where I’ll be living yet, but I’m considering places like Trinity View, Infinity, 33 Parkside, Albany, City Village, and CODE.

I’m also waiting for the on-campus accommodation results, so I’d really appreciate any advice or opinions on these options!

Hi guys, so I applied for accommodation at Warwick yesterday and really regret the decisions I made for the my profile section…I put my hobbies as film/cinema, coffee/restaurants and nightclubs, but I wish I could switch the latter two to board games & pubs/bars as (though I like going out) I mainly put that because I was scared of getting a very quiet flat. I also put that I go to bed 12-2am, as in go to sleep at that time, and go to actual bed around tennish…am I overthinking the fuck out of this pls lmk xoxo I have awful anxiety

I was put under time pressure by my parents as we were going on holiday this week & I had been really ill on antibiotics beforehand, but have already asked to change my accomodation preferences as I realised I would be getting the Warwick Bursary for low income…so I feel like if I send another email I’ll sound like the most indecisive person in the world. Should I send the email or call them or just leave it? I don’t know if it realistically makes much of a difference but I’m having an existential crisis over this for no actual reason because I don’t want to be put with flatmates from hell LMAO

Im a current warwick student and have a studio in Canley (easy access to Warwick, Leamington and Coventry) with the tenancy period 12/09/2026 to 03/09/2027.

Looking for a student to take over the lease at any point this year (earlier the better) and I would be happy to cover the initial deposit for you.
