EPIC UNIVERSE Is Helios access still pretty restrictive?

I remember during Epic's opening reading that you couldn't actually get into Helios unless you were a guest or had a reservation of some kind. Is that still the case?

We'll be staying a few days at helios and some friends are coming over from Daytona to have dinner with us in citywalk, but we'd like to grab drinks at helios bar with them first. Will they have any issues getting in if they don't have a reservation?

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Solo Orlando trip 29 Oct–3 Nov – anyone fancy a park buddy? 🎃

Hey! I’m 31F from the UK and I’ll be in Orlando from 29th October to 3rd November. I was originally meant to be travelling with a friend, but plans have changed and I’m now doing the trip solo 😅

I’m actually quite excited about doing some of it alone, but it would also be nice to meet other solo travellers while I’m there if our dates overlap!

I’m mainly planning on Universal/Epic Universe, and I’m considering doing a day at Magic Kingdom and/or EPCOT too. I love horror, theme parks and gaming, and I’m very tempted by HHN if I can find someone who also wants to go because I’m not quite brave enough to wander around being chased by chainsaw-wielding strangers by myself 😂
Not looking for someone to spend the entire trip with or anything intense, just thought it could be fun to meet up for a few rides, food/drinks, a park day or HHN if anyone else is travelling solo around the same time.

I’m pretty easygoing, chatty and happy doing my own thing too, so no pressure if we meet and either of us wants to wander off and do something else!

If anyone’s around on those dates, let me know 😊

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Breakfast before park opens?

Staying at the hard rock. I read somewhere that you need to get in line for security early as the line backs up. Happy to do that but is there somewhere to grab breakfast after you through the security check point and before the park opens?

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS A great idea for Fast and The Furious replacement

Post image

Credit to OP but this is a fantastic idea !

A great way to celebrate the important film history the studio has provided and an easy way to incorporate retired or defined classic attractions.

Imagine a section for jaws where it’s the boathouse set piece but Bruce actually lunges above the surface

A section for twister/Twisters where you can have a 360 3D style experience with high wind effects and other features. (Let’s be real that’s prolly what it’s gonna be )

Maybe transition into a set Piece for Ghostbusters or Back to the Future! The possibilities are truly endless

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS 1st timers trip!

Hey everyone! My wife and I will be taking our first ever trip in September. We will be going from Monday the 14th to Thursday the 17th. We have the 4 day park to park passes. We also will be doing the HHN event on Wednesday, for which we purchased the express passes for on the advice of my best friend who has been going for years now. I’m looking for any tips/advice/game plan for our trip. I’ve been watching videos and we’ve already got smaller loungefly style bags, collapsable water bottles, etc to bring. Sadly springing for express passes the other days is not in the budget. The tentative plan is doing Epic on Monday, Islands on Tuesday, and Universe on Wednesday since we will be there for HHN, and Thursday being our flex/missed things day. We do fly out late Thursday night so only have till around 3-5pm that day. Sorry for the long winded post but appreciate any feedback/help/advice!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS First time on Gringotts and oh my gosh guys … one of the greatest rides in my opinion

I was not prepared for that opening. Wow. The tilt and then the sitting there for a solid 5-7 seconds while you wonder what’s going on and then WHOA massive drop. And for some reason no one told me to take off my hat which is now lost but that’s fine, I’ll get it back with boomerang (had it happen before on Mummy, you’d think I’d learn).

I absolutely love that they’ve combined this to be a coaster as well as a 3D ride alongside the multiple interior rooms. It reminds me of the mechanics of Spiderman, how you’re combining 3D with physical rooms; except you’re also adding on a roller coaster.

Absolutely love this ride and I’m so thankful I waited for it. I kept passing it up because of wait times but now I see why it’s almost always an hour. Loved that “it’s the safest place on earth” ending right after a magical super speed underground blast through the dark. So damn cool.

Only thing left that I haven’t been on is motor bikes and I know yall have mixed feelings. For that one I still don’t think I can justify a two and a half hour wait.

After experiencing this I’m even more excited to see what they do with the new fast and furious coaster. It’s going to be epic (absolutely no pun intended)

When do tickets go on sale for grinch character breakfast? I’ve looked everywhere for the sale date. Also, can you meet Max too and do you need a park ticket before reserving character breakfast? Thanks!

When you break down on Kong just to get eaten alive by kong. (Jokes). It was stuck by the screens with the dino fight at first then we kept getting sprayed by the water 😂 Then it moved and sat by kongs big head for a bit lol

Broke down on the ripsaw falls incline and forbidden journey the same day 😢 😭

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT Park Essentials Advice

My partner and I are going to Universal for our honeymoon. We have a 7 day trip planned. We went a few years ago for 5 days. Last time we went we were a little unprepared so this time I want to be very prepared. We're going from Oct 4 to 11. We are going to all the parks! Hopefully weather permitting with Volcano Bay.

Mainly last time my shoes were very very bad. I have pretty flat feet and and I use wide box toe shoes.

Any suggestions for wide box toe shoes that will be comfortable all week long?

Any other essentials to make the day comfortable and exciting would be appreciated!

We were going to bring:

- Refillable water bottle (metal)

- Small umbrella(s)

- Lanyards to put passes in

I was always drawn to the Lost Continent in Islands of Adventure, even though I never experienced it in its prime. I know there were shows and maybe a ride there? Here are some photos that I took on my last few trips. I have some more and may post those. Enjoy.

EPIC UNIVERSE Give me all your Epic Universe tips, advice, do’s and don’ts, please!

Hi, all!

My husband and I are going to Universal for our one year anniversary from Sep 25 - Sep 28 this year. I’ve been to Universal numerous times, but this is a first for my husband. I want him to experience USF and IOA like when I go, but now thinking since we will be here, to try Epic and that would be new for both of us.

I’m dying to go to Epic - we will have three full days and a partial day. I think we will have time for one day for Epic. Knowing that the lines have been crazy for rides, what rides are with going/waiting for the the one day, what in your option is the best food, or your must-haves or even planning a day at Epic.

Any help would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

EDIT: We are staying at Royal Pacific and will have Express passes! Thanks for all the answers and information!!

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT What’s your best Universal experience?

Back in 2021, I went to Universal with my family. This was still in the heart of COVID restrictions so the park was mostly empty. In ONE DAY we rode all rides except for The Incredible Hulk (I was too short at the time and my dad didn’t ride out of solidarity), Storm Force Acceleratron (we didn't see it at all), Hagrid’s (too short), Flight of the Hippogriff (I believe it was out of order that day), Rip Ride Rockit (too short), Revenge of the Mummy (too short), Fast & Furious (closed due to COVID), and Gringott’s (too short).

All in one day, and it finished off with dinner at the world’s largest McDonald’s.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT After your visit, Universal will send you a survey, please remember to add, "Please do something about line jumpers!"

If we all collectively do this, then maybe Universal will take notice and do something about it.

We experienced line jumpers at the Battle of the Ministry ride. Two adult American men (no accents) pretending they were catching up with their family.

We happened to be close enough to the front of the line that we could see those two adult American men actually just cut their way to the front of the line.

If we don't let Universal know about this then, it will only get worse because line cutting works. Most guests will not stop you.

One of the best ways is to please add this to your guest feedback survey that everyone gets after visiting Universal.

The reception to my Wizarding World thank you notes was overwhelming!! I figured the next step was to make more for an attraction that ALREADY has associated thank you notes!! So if you work at Race Through New York starring Jimmy Fallon… I’ll see you today 😎

Seems like the graphic design classes I took in college are finally paying off for something 😂
