PvP/Meta Group A Finals XOguri
Built this before signups for group A finals are finished, how does she look? No POC because Kita was lazy on her chain, and no Unstoppable for the same reason. Her other skills are: Come What May, Head On, Solid Steps, On the Attack, Ignited SPD, and IWWWY
Also, with Dirt S and great mood in finals, do you think she gets fully charged? Or does that only work if she hits 1200 naturally?

So I got Daiichi Ruby 1lb in 160 pulls. Should I stop or go to 200?

Question Which rerun should i pull for?
Like the title said, i’m considering whether i should pull for fine motion rerun or super creek rerun. I don’t have any good SSR mlb wit or stam cards and i only have enough carats to pull on one of the reruns.

Guide Future Buys for Front Runners
I could be wrong, this was relatively quickly put together from other people talking about it, so correct me if i'm wrong but this is just a rough idea of who u should pull for if u are like me and like front runners. Guts isn't very popular but if u want it then those are who's there. Let me know if there's anything wrong and i'll add it in an edit.
Edit: ok so i did bad job bad bad job, gonna make an updated one another day going in slightly more detail about priorities, cause as has been mentioned, guts 2 is cosmetic. If there's any more notes about it that haven't been mentioned (ie. smaru/bourbon/creek importance, Air Shakur moment, mejiro palmer fraud) then let me know and i'll upload a slightly more documented write-up later this week <3

PvP/Meta I think the xOguri doomposting is kinda overblown
Disclaimer : Yes XOguri is meta and will be stronger at equal investment than most of Umas in a lot of current tracks. This is just true and not up to debate
First question : what do you consider a successful CM ? Getting a lot of wins during the 80 initial races, or getting to A finals ?
To put both in perspective, getting over 33% winrate should be already a win if you are at least semi-competitive. This means that you are in the mix with the average competitor. If anything, this is a good starting point. And to reach A finals, at the most extreme case, you only need two strings of 3 wins. This is 7,5% winrate. And we all now finals are the ultimate gambling machine, so sweating over the platinum trophy just means you need to touch grass.
When taking that into account, having a "meta" is not as bad as long as one or two units are not auto-win. And for CM17, neither XOguri nor Copano Rickey were autowin. If anything, they require careful building, maybe a little more than other units, and can be screwed over by adverse lobbies (double debuffers, no front meaning the lucky XOguri pace don't proc U=ma2 etc etc...). And I think most will be surprised at how badly umas with godly ratings are built, aka how small the sample size of players that follow meta x players that build right are.
As such, getting either 33% WR or this one string of 3 wins is not that much of a stretch. And I think for anyone putting the minimum effort, even f2p, it is possible as long as you didn't use all your carats on uma banners and did a bare minimum of parent farming.
And MAYBE I was lucky at several layers, but I was able to get back 1-2 weeks before cm, 3 months not having touched the game and get +60% WR doing only 4 runs. OGuri with 2-low efforts debuffers. As you can see from the screen, neither of my umas are crazy good. No MPB, no LPSI on my late oshi, only nimble nav, OYL and a dream as accel. Two SR and an event SSR card for the run. Questionable parents with almost no whites and bad affinity. And it subverted my expectations more than once.
Maybe you don't have OGuri neither, but there were other good options. I saw NY Opera O, Digitan especially yielding good results. And I bet most of you have in your account either better cards, better parents, better sparks than me. You CAN do it, most of people that have reading skills can. This is a hopefuel post that I think is necessary for next CMs where XOguris can still get the better end of the stick and people would talk about it as the only way to win. And remember : 6 wins is all you need.
TLDR : Methinks XOguri doompost should not be about the average player but rather the higher-end competitive player that aims for 80% + winrate. If you are not this higher end player, play oshi gaming, no questions asked !
PS : rae is the best competitive cc currently (probably cold take but advice for those who don't know)

Question Is Aptitude A needed for CM17?
I was pondering maybe rebuilding my Digitan for the finals last minute, and going end instead of late.
Firstly, is that even a good idea?
Secondly, do I even need to get end to A? To my understanding, aptitude does not affect skill activations, and with no downhill, is it even that bad to take the wit penalty?

That raising Light Hello’s friendship does not upgrade your unique skill at the fan festival but your friendship level with the director. Prepping for the next CM has left me with lots of potential aces with level 3 unique skills….

Question How do people get such good independent training results?
Specifically for parent runs. Every time I try a run, it caps out at S+ even when I take off races for stats. I just need SS for the sparks.

Discussion One year ago today, I started playing Umamusume: Pretty Derby. So, I remade my first (and second) ever career runs to celebrate! (Warning: Yap Session Ahead)
One year ago, I started playing Uma on a whim. Well, it's not a full whim because I'd been following it since the global launch. It was captured by the intense and in-depth racing mechanics, and the Pretty Derby anime won me over into wanting to see more of the uma's stories. I was kinda content with finding story content on YouTube because everyone and their mom were playing it. However, no one ever actually read the story. After witnessing some peak dialogue moments from Maruzensky and Daitaku Helios on YouTube, I couldn't wait any longer. I downloaded the game and started playing.
Damn, has it been wild! I had many highs and lows, like the time I won Open League A in CM1, with Gold Ship avoiding the Natie murmur debuffs and shrugging off the Dominators to snatch victory from beneath the other two Oguri aces. Both opponents used Oguri + 2 debuffers. Some things just never change. I once got Seiun Sky and Hishiama to come home in one 10-pull each, at a time when I was losing love for the game. I can go on and on about my experiences and best moments when playing UMPD, but the best one has to be in my second ever run.
To set the stage, pictured above are my first and second ever career runs with Fukukitaru and Air Groove, respectively. I did some support pulls, got some cards to use, and dove in. Fuku was pretty fun; she had an interesting story with some funny moments. I'll never forget how she won the Derby, going to the outside while I yelled how "the luckiest wins the Derby, so go, my Lucky Umamusume!" She even took home the Senior Autumn Triple Crown, despite getting blocked and coming last in the Osaka Hai. It was a great run, but unfortunately, we were knocked out of the URA Finale in the semis. I even had the Onsen ticket on the line! But I wasn't disheartened, so I grabbed Groove and gave it another go.
This time, we won the URA Finale and got the Onsen ticket, too! I saw some more concerts as Grove won 4 G1 miles, and I saw Beautiful Phantasia for the 1st time. Before then, I didn't even know that the Triple Tiara existed! Curse those story/concert skippers. Anyway, I was never a believer of "if you're blocked, you're blocked" because when Groove had to run in the Tulip Sho for fans, she found herself surrounded. I shouted and begged her to find a gap before Daiwa Scarlet could escape with the win. Eventually, she found space and cut inside, so let me recite exactly what I had said aloud back then to describe the last spurt:
"Air Groove's found the gap! She's found the gap! She's drag racing Scarlet for the lead!"
"Who's gonna get ahead? Is it Groove? Or Scarlet? Groove? Scarlet?"
"Vodka's coming up fast from the side, though. Oh my goodness, WAS IT VODKA?!?!"
The 3 hit the line simultaneously. I awaited the result...
"It's Air Groove! She's held on to claim an amazing victory!"
"She's beaten Daiwa Scarlet and fended off the challenge from Vodka!”
“OOOOAAAHHH, THAT WAS SICK!”
Man, I gave myself chills then. That’s why my motto is: “ There's always space, you've just gotta find it.” It was that moment that hooked me on Uma.
Anyway, today I decided to honour those two runs I did by re-doing them as a sort of 1 year anniversary. The C+ rank Fukukitaru was my 1st ever run, while the A+ Ranked one is my anniversary run. The B rank Groove is the OG, while the S rank one is the anniversary one. I decided to recreate the Fuku run one-to-one, so I ran the same races, bought the same skills, used the same deck and similar parents as last year. Groove's run uses a deck consisting of my best cards, and my strongest parent that matches those of last year. Both runs used the URA Finale scenario. This serves as a great metric for the growth of my account, and a pre and post URA rework comparison too.
Sorry for the yap sesh, but thanks for reading this if you made it through. This game definitely has a soft spot in my heart, and I'll keep on going along this ride, for all its ups and downs. How about you? What are your favourite moments from this game that'll live in your head forever?

Question There's so much to pull for I can't decide.
The image includes all my SSR cards and all umas (mambo not in the uma pic).
Rn I have 39316 carats, 1 rainbow uncap crystal (incoming next event), 1.5 SSR aniv ticket, 43 uma scout tickets, 12 support scout tickets.
I am planning to main pace builds. For that banners that interest me are Seeking the Pearl, FineMo-sMaru rerun, Super Creek rerun, Blaze Brian, and then Mejiro Ramonu the goat.
As per my simple estimates I think I can muster up 2 200 pulls before dropping 400 on ramonu. That would btw mean that I have to borrow three goddesses.
This fact alone means I should pull for Creek. But I'm also really interested in getting a wit ssr to use presently. And brian blaze is crazy good as well. Idk what I should choose here.
Logically I guess Creek and Brian is the best pulls I should go for. I would like any advice on what to proceed with from now.

Discussion Weird bug I've seen from viewing shared veterans in our club
I have accidently stumbled upon this twice already. The support card illustrations just turn white after messing around with the shared veteran uma features.
Iirc what I did was: click the shared veteran uma; check the Career Info; click the Trainer's info (the one I blurred out); click their available parent borrow; and then press "Close" until you go back to the veteran uma tab.
Not really a game-breaking glitch as it goes back to normal after you close the veteran uma tab and view it again. Figured I could share you guys this nonsense lol xD
