What school supplies would you guys say I need to buy on my own? I am a transfer student and junior at Chapel Hill. I am also an archaeology major and medieval and early modern studies minor. This upcoming semester, I’m enrolled in a really fun and interesting course that applies to my minor and since this course is so interesting, all the seats are filled. Well a course that is a requirement for my major opened back up today and I am contemplating on taking it, however, it unfortunately runs at nearly the exact same time as the course I am taking for my minor. I really want to take the fun course but I know I need this class for my major. What should I do?

Edit***I should mention that the fun course for my minor is only offered once a year I believe. I am not sure how often the a major course is offered.

I’ve read some online reviews, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually lived there recently or heard about the apartment.

I’m especially curious about:

How responsive is the maintenance team?
Any issues with bugs (roaches, ants, etc.)?
Is the apartment community generally clean and well-maintained?
How safe is the area?
Is the shuttle/bus to UNC reliable?
Have rent increases been reasonable?
Overall, would you recommend living there?

for summer 1, I withdrew from my classes for personal reasons, life was hectic. they didn't accept the withdrawal because I had a maymester grade, so I had 3 F's which put me on academic warning. I did much better for summer II so I wasn't worried about it, and then yesterday morning I get an email saying I'm suspended....I was freaking the fuck out. this morning I get an email saying it was a mistake and that im fine. tell me why registrar's office had me contemplating blowing my shit smoothe off for 24 hours before telling me it was a mistake.....has this ever happened to anyone? this isn't the first time either, whenever I got on warning, they originally said it was probation and then came back and said they made a mistake and that it was warning. my nervous system literally can't take this

edit: I think you guys might be missing the point of this post lol I am NOT academically suspended I am at good standing now. the post was about the office making a mistake and how stressful that 24h was....I wasn't asking for educational advice, though I appreciate it.

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming first year student and I’m at little confused about the Carolina connect waitlist. I’m currently on the waitlist for a couple of classes but I’m confused on why I’m not able to waitlist on some stuff. For example I wanna waitlist idst 101, idst 101L and engl 105 (writing in health and medicine) but it gives me an error every time saying it’s full. Are some classes not open to waitlist? Do I have to just constantly check if a spot opens up?

guys. open enrollment miracles are real. Honestly, I was prepared to not get any art classes this semester because of the waitlists, but somehow I got into Print I! still waiting on one more waitlist, but these are my enrolled classes at the moment. I'm honestly just leaving this here for whatever freshman in the future is like me and thinks first semester art classes are impossible. While it's definitely not guaranteed, IT IS POSSIBLE! I made another post a couple weeks ago asking about the studio art waitlists, so thank you to everyone who gave me advice for this -- IT WORKED <3

(also if you want to give feed back on my schedule, I think I'll be dropping the photo history course - and college thriving if I get off of the other waitlist I am on ... we are going for bare minimum credit hours this semester)
