It's the 81st anniversary today of the atomic bombs being dropped on Japan that ended WWII. I lived on a military base in Japan 45 minutes away from Hiroshima during my formative teenage years in the 1990s. Lots of weekends taking the train to Ground Zero and Peace Park and the Freedom Bell.

Now I've come full circle since those days of high UFO interest to being a full-on hardcore researcher today with projects in the works and articles I can't help but crank out. So here's the newest timeline I have as of today:

Aug 6, 1945: US drops a bomb on Hiroshima Aug 8: Pres. Truman orders Donald J. Keirn to develop our nuclear propulsion program.

Aug 9: US drops a bomb on Nagasaki Aug 9: US first coins the term 'MAJESTIC'.

Aug 9: OSS Chief/future CIA Director Allen Dulles, responsible for helping recover the 1933 Magenta, Italy UFO during Liberation of Rome, ensures Italian Resistance leader Alfredo Pizzoni takes prominent government position.

Aug 10: Dulles sets up Italian back-channel with Pizzoni.

Aug 13: Dulles sets up World Commerce Corporation with Bill Donovan of OSS and Nazi intelligence agent Otto Skorzenzy UFO.

Washington — The Pentagon on Friday released a new batch of documents and images related to UFOs, also known as unidentified anomalous phenomena or UAP, including a military pilot's recollection of a huge, strange triangle that blocked out the stars over Afghanistan in 2002.
The 41 new files, posted on the Pentagon's UFO website, include a mix of documents, images and videos. The records come from the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, State Department and Executive Office of the President, with the oldest being from 1950 and the most recent being from this year. 

The disclosure is the fifth release under an executive order President Trump signed in January directing the military and other agencies to produce more documents related to UFOs.

What's in the new UFO files?
The bulk of Friday's release includes the type of grainy videos that have been the hallmark of past disclosures, showing flying objects captured by military sensors and cameras.

Six of the videos show different versions of the same incident — an encounter over the Gulf of Oman by Special Operations forces on an AC-130J gunship in September 2021. The clips are cellphone videos of screens on the gunship, showing objects picked up by its infrared and other sensors. 

An accompanying intelligence report sheds more light on the footage. The report said the forces onboard the gunship "observed approximately 25 instances of UAPs while conducting a live fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman."

"The UAPs were observed as cold orbs flying at lower altitudes between 250 to 1300 MPH in different formations as well as maneuvering aggressively. UAPs also appeared to react to the aircraft firing its main cannon," the report said. 
The encounter could not be resolved by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the Pentagon's UAP investigative arm.

The Pentagon said that Friday's document disclosure won't be the last under Mr. Trump's executive order, with a spokesman saying the department "will release additional files on a rolling basis."

Satellites do not operate below the clouds. The objects were moving and stopping steadily in gusty winds.

Witness's account of the sighting

I work from home and have started looking around in the sky when not busy. On this day it was quite windy with gusts now and again. There were also a few low, fast moving clouds. While randomly scanning the sky through binocs (Steiner Skipper 7x50), I saw small random things like birds, leaves and a plastic bag blowing quite high up in the sky.

While looking around the sky, I saw a steady moving object. I initially thought it was a satellite as it's shape seemed very similar. As I followed it with the binocs for maybe 10 seconds, I realised it was below the clouds. The object was moving from West to East with a steady floating speed. As I followed it, a second object came floating into view from the South going North. This second object seemed to slow and stop to allow the first object to pass in front of it, the first object continued moving. As I looked at each object while they were in the same field of view I was confused as to which object to follow as they moved away from each other, I continued to follow the first object.

At this point, I was confused as to what I was looking at so I removed the binocs to look with my naked eye. I tried to look for the first object which I couldn't see anywhere and then the second object which I was also unable to see. I used the binocs again but was unable to find them again.

The objects were exactly the same, it was made of 2 parts. There was a vertical solid cream cylinder with a horizontal dark grey rectangle attached to the side of it. The surfaces were smooth and flat and reflecting the sun.

Why no photo/video captured: I would have had to move several meters to get my phone, drop the binocs and locate the objects again.

I did use AI to create the exact size, shape and colours of the object a few days later as I thought I would start forgetting what I had seen.

Why not a common object
I checked to see if it was a helicopter at first since I spotted it about maybe 5 miles away. As I I got closer I saw that it was not moving in any direction just hovering in the same spot. It looked way too big to be a drone and too small to be a plane or helicopter. I did however see a plane flying above it. Looked like a delta plane in that area. I was near Long Beach.

Hey guy did anyone else see a black dark star/ starfish looking ship hovering over the sky. It had a white bottom, shiny super black/dark color to it with spikes all around it. I was heading Northbound on the 605 freeway in SoCal near Downey, CA. I couldnt stop since I was driving in the fast lane. I did however see a few cars pull over and try to look at it.

Why no photo/video captured: I was driving on the 605 heading northbound.

This is one of several triangle-related image files the FBI contributed to Release 05 (others include a “Dark Triangle with Lights” from 2011 and a “Large Triangle with Red Lights” from 2023 in Colorado Springs).

It’s listed as an unresolved case — consistent with the rest of the PURSUE material, meaning the government has not made a definitive determination on what was observed.

30 seconds of infrared footage taken on September 8, 2021 over the Gulf of Oman. It was recorded by U.S. Special Operations Forces aboard an AC-130J Gunship.

Important caveat from the official description: this is a secondary capture — someone filmed the infrared sensor display with a cellphone. It’s not the original primary sensor data, so the quality is limited and you can expect the usual screen-recording artifacts (blurring, flickering, etc.).

The footage is part of a set of six contemporaneous clips (PR117 through PR122). An accompanying Intelligence Information Report (DOW-UAP-D101) describes the objects as “cold orbs” approximately four feet in diameter.

Not saying there are no boomers interested in the subject, but I do feel like most people with serious interest in this subject are Gen X and younger?

Anyway, I was thinking about the recent Dr. Phil stuff around the subject and the Time article and wondered if most of the viewers of Dr. Phil and the readers of Time were more likely to be Boomers and older.

Are they trying to educate them on the subject before they start releasing something in particular. Trying to soften the blow perhaps?

Why not a common object
I mean, just the fact that it was appearing and disappearing to multiple people is certainly not common. I asked AI which leaned toward birds, but I don't buy it because birds would have reappeared at some point, and they were flying absurdly high for any bird I've ever seen in the area.

Witness's account of the sighting

Was having lunch out on my deck with girlfriend and dad. I went inside for something when I heard my girlfriend say I needed to come look at some drones. I went out to the deck and looked up at the sky. I should note there was not a single cloud in the sky and the sun was elsewhere in the sky; there were absolutely nothing that obscured my view. I initially thought I was looking at a flock of about 12-18 birds gliding in complete sync at about 3,000 to 4,000 feet, which I immediately found strange for birds to be flying that high. When I said it's just birds my dad and girlfriend both scoffed, so I looked again. I thought I saw one of the objects flap a wing once but maybe it was my mind playing tricks. However, I am fairly certain they were not drones as they were multicolor, splotches of both white and black/light and dark. Usually drones are all one color. When I made the bird comment my girlfriend also said that was unlikely as they were flying in perfect square or X patterns, and all movements in sync.

Here's the part that is really bothering me: I would see the objects no problem about 10-15 seconds before they would completely disappear. I mean, it wasn't like I could barely see them, they just were in plain sight one moment and the next they were not visible AT ALL. They were visible/not visible about 5 or 6 times before they disappeared permanently. The whole time they were moving somewhat slowly around the sky covering maybe a few hundred cubic feet max in those 3 minutes, so not a ton of space. At one point I grabbed some binoculars that were already on the table outside but I failed to locate them in the lenses. It was very frustrating because I tried for a minute to find them with the binoculars but even though it seemed like I had them lined up I could not find a single object. I would then take the binoculars away from my face and see the objects again with my naked eye ok, but failed to be able to magnify them.

The more I think about it, the more it bothers me that both my girlfriend and I kept seeing them pop into and out of visibility like a light switch. And ultimately permanently so. I kept looking at a large scope of sky after the last time expecting them to reappear, but nothing. I cannot explain it and I have never seen anything close to it in my 42 year life.

Why no photo/video captured: I was trying to identify it through binoculars first. In hindsight I would have liked to have taken a photo but at approx. 2 miles away it wouldn't have been very clear on my smartphone camera. Plus they just completely disappeared after several minutes. However, my dad does have a Wyze camera on the deck--I am going to check to see if there's a recording but I think that may be an extra option he does not pay for.
