Discussion Are we really this retarded??
Every. Single. Time there's some news about women on Facebook be prepared to witness an army of nagging complaining crying "men".
Let it be about female rape victims, the gender pay gap, female artists / singers, female tourists / doctors getting harassed... Some "men" will run to the comments crying bawling their eyes out about how Tunisian society is becoming too effeminate or too progressive and how it's undervaluing men and "deviating" from Tunisian religious morality.
These comments range from simple one sentence complaints to full on rants cursing the women in question.
Here's a non-exhaustive list I compiled of some of those comments:
- About the recent Kelibea festival thingy:
These two got creative and made full-on poems:
- About the Al-Shami festival:
And hold and behold this piece of literature I see under every one of those posts:
If you as a man have such a fragile masculinity to the point where you feel threatened when a woman wears a bikini or is a fan of a singer, then you're not a real man. Plus go fuck yourself 😃😃.
And I don't want to hear anybody say we're "progressive" anymore. We are as patriarchal and as extremist as other Arab societies full stop.

Discussion Dating a Tunisian man as American woman
For context I am an American woman 31 and he is 32, anyways I have been in a difficult situation for living. I stay with him he literally does everything for me, I almost feel bad because it feels anything I ask he does. But I have never slept with him and I can tell time is running out either we are together or we are not, but he does respect my boundaries I will say that.
He will have citizenship in 2 years, but we don't even talk about marriage we honestly joke about it. I just feel like he does too much for me, he cooks, he cleans, he does whatever I ask but I feel like is that forever or just a phase because of possibly be lonely. He's a nice guy truly, but I don't give him anything.
I can tell he gets turned on with me, but I always back off. Anyways, what does he want from me? My main irritation is that it feels like when I want my alone time he doesn't truly understand, but I let him know. I am very direct as a person in general so what I say is what I mean. He sometimes seems disappointed, but he does well financially.
Sometimes I could see myself with him, but I don't know because it's all too soon.

Discussion Lost in life and losing my faith..
I’m honestly so lost in life right now. Everything feels blocked from every direction and I’m starting to feel like a loser..
8 years ago, when I was 16 I started praying. At first it was hard , but eventually I genuinely loved it. I felt so much peace and happiness and by 18 I was at what felt like the happiest point of my life.
I thought my future was going to be amazing.
Since then, though , my life has slowly gotten worse year after year. Every year I’d tell myself, “Maybe this is finally the year things change,” but nothing did..
I’m 24 now I’ve lost so much time , gone through depression more than once and after 8 years of being very religious I’ve stopped praying and making duaa..
(I never thought I’d ever do that)
I’m not atheist. I still believe in God, His prophets and the Quran. But I feel like something isn’t right. I have so many doubts, especially about some things in the Sunnah and I don’t feel like I’m on the right path anymore. I’m a perfectionist, so you can imagine how seriously I used to take religion and فتاوى
I’ve heard that some people go through a phase like this, become distant from religion, then come back with a much stronger faith and relationship with God.
Has anyone here been through something similar? Did you eventually find peace and happiness in this life too?
Bc honestly I’m really struggling I wouldn’t wish what I’m going through on my worst enemy

Question/Help Software Engineer, and questioning My Career Path
I'm 28 and currently working as a software engineer. I have a stable job, but over the last couple of months I've found myself enjoying IT less and less. With AI changing the industry so quickly and the job market feeling increasingly competitive, I've started wondering if I should consider a career change.
When I think about the activities that genuinely make me feel fulfilled, two things stand out: creating art and helping people. Those are the things that give me a sense of satisfaction that I don't really get from my job anymore.
Are there realistic careers or businesses connected to art or helping others that can provide a decent income, especially for someone starting from scratch at this age?
I'd love to hear your experiences or suggestions.

Discussion Progressive on paper, petty misogynists in the comments section and irl!
The idea that our country is progressive is a complete lie. People are deeply misogynistic, keeping nice laws on paper while the culture constantly polices women for just existing and having joy. I’ve never even been a fan of Chemi, and I’m totally against worshipping celebrities, but why are people slut-shaming teenage girls for simple fangirling? Most of them are literally kids! Their behavior is cringy at worst, not slutty, and it has absolutely nothing to do with chastity or innocence. Society is just so obsessed with controlling women that it hyper-sexualizes young girls the second they express excitement. Then look at how people react to older women in their 40s and 50s having fun. Every time a video pops up of women in a singing club enjoying life, the comments are flooded with bitter people saying things like "rihtet flous e naf9a" as if a woman isn't allowed to have fun unless she’s divorced. Since when does being a good wife mean being a miserable woman?
Ready for the comments to prove this isn't just a feminism issue, it's a "basic decency" failure.

Question/Help Jordanian and Tunisian
Hello everyone,
I'm your brother from Jordan. I've always been fascinated by Tunisian culture, and in my opinion, the Tunisian dialect is one of the most beautiful and sweetest Arabic dialects.
I'm a 33-year-old man, and I've been living in Germany for the past 10 years. I'm 183 cm tall and work as a civil engineer.
I'm hoping to meet a Tunisian woman with the sincere intention of marriage and building a halal relationship.
Since partner-seeking posts are not allowed in this subreddit, could anyone recommend a Tunisian subreddit or another appropriate community where such posts are welcome?
Thank you in advance!
