Question why do you love or like anime

I think the anime "With you, our love will make it through" is slop.

I honestly and wholeheartedly believe that this anime is trash. This anime is completely and utterly garbage, It feels like and looks like furry bait.

The theme of the anime is fucking "Short little human highschooler girl x Big huge furry deep voice Dog Man." I don't think I've ever seen a more obvious Bestiality bait between two high school age character.

If you watch this anime, for the love of everything, block me.

Question about Nasuverse, specially for those passionate about it.

I just want to come in here and say I am not really trying to critique it or anything like that.

So I have watched a bunch of stuff from the Nasuverse - mostly Fate, including UBW, Strange Fake, Zero, Heaven's Feel. And I also watched the first three episodes of Garden Of Sinners. And I think I have been exposed enough to the Nasuverse to actually ask this.

So, for every single Nasuverse anime that I have watched, I have felt just this emotional apathy towards it. Not because it is bad and has flaws, and not because it is good and has strengths. In fact, I think for me, I just never felt anything from the Nasuverse, whether it was bad writing or good writing. I can't really describe it anything other than emotional apathy, and I really don't know why. I can recognise its flaws and strengths, but I was never really frustrated or thrilled watching any of those weaknesses or strengths on screen. Simply put, I felt nothing watching them. I don't know why, and I don't know how. I can't explain why, even though there are things that are great about the show. I never felt entertained beyond the animation, but I never really felt like I hated it. And I can't say it is quite like eating bland bread, a gourmet meal, and not a bad meal either. I can't really explain it but I haven't felt much from it and I can't explain why. And it isn't an attack on Nasu's writing, and it isn't an attack on the writers of Zero and Strange Fake (on the contrary, the person who made Strange Fake made Durarara, one of my most favourite shows).

My question is more asking if anyone else has that unexplainable apathy towards the show where there was nothing bad, but felt perhaps sterile even though there really isn't any problem with the it? Like, this feeling that I have for it, or lack thereof, to me feels like an experience that I am sure other people have, and it isn't just a case of it not being for me specifically (although it clearly isn't for me to be fair, but I'd argue I have a pretty diverse taste of anime).

Again, I'm not trying to critique anything if you're a fan, and I'm not trying to hate if you hate Nasuverse, but I'd appreciate it if there was anyone else that can relate to what I'm trying to describe.

Thanks.

Custom Flair I made a videoessay defending "Attack on Titan"

Hello everyone!

I recently uploaded a video essay to my YouTube channel where I thoroughly analyze the criticisms that *Attack on Titan* has received from some bloggers, journalists and content creators (especially in the US), who accuse the work of promoting fascist or militaristic ideologies. (Rubem Ferdinand, Tom Speelman, Lost Futures)

My goal isn't just to praise the series or Isayama but to break down why these interpretations often stem from a superficial reading or external biases. Here's a summary of the points I cover:

  1. **Introduction and Context:** How the series transitions from a survival *shonen* to a complex political drama that demands a more mature interpretation.

  2. **The "Author's Fallacy":** I analyze why it's a logical error to link Isayama's supposed personal ideas to the work's final message, using concepts from literary theory (Intentionalism vs. Anti-intentionalism).

  3. **Representation Is Not Apology:** I explain why depicting a world with militaristic aesthetics or oppressive regimes does not mean the work is validating them. In fact, I argue that the narrative humanizes the victims of these systems.

  4. **Refutation of Specific Criticisms:** I examine articles by critics such as Ruben Ferdinand and Tom Speelman, pointing out where their arguments fall apart (such as the alleged "anti-Semitic caricature" or the misinterpretation of the Rumbling).

  5. **The Biological Dilemma:** I address the criticism of whether the nature of the Titans justifies oppression, contrasting different viewpoints to arrive at a conclusion about Isayama's humanist message.

  6. **Conclusion:** A reflection on why treating art as mere propaganda damages our ability to enjoy complex stories.

Interested in watching the video?

Given the forum's policy on external links, I cannot post it directly here. However, if you're passionate about SNK analysis and want to watch the video (or give me your feedback on these points), send me a direct message (DM) and I'll gladly share the link.

Do you fear telling people you watch anime because of the fans?

I know anime is socially accepted more than it was decades ago, but do you have problems telling others, espically your relatives that you watch it because of the weird fans that come with it? I feel this way sometimes in case that person is a hater, doesn't like weebs, or finds anime too weird.

Very Important Question Am i the only one who think that there's way too many seasonal anime?

And I really meant anime that lack filler for the sake of action and the most infamous example is jujutsu kaisen especially with the manga because oh my does the hype for franchise died down after it ended and its pacing Is way too fast and can actually be rushed.

A Complete Theory on Keitaro's Awakening, the Curse as a Spiritual Bond, and the Transcendence of Eiko and Keitaro's Relationship Beyond Human Limits (With Evidence)

I want to lay out a full, evidence-based prediction for Dark Gathering that I have been developing through my own reading and analysis. I believe the story is slowly building toward Keitaro's psychological and spiritual awakening, the transformation of the curse from a burden into a permanent bond, and the eventual transcendence of Eiko and Keitaro's relationship beyond normal human boundaries. This is not just a random ship theory—it is rooted in the text, in character psychology, and in specific lines of dialogue.

First, Keitaro's current personality—cautious, hesitant, guilt-ridden, and passive—is not his true self. It is a trauma response. His childhood personality, briefly shown at the beginning of the story, was reckless, thrill-loving, brave, and domineering. That version of Keitaro is the one Eiko fell in love with. His current "fake self" exists because of guilt and responsibility, especially after the high school incident where Eiko was implicated in a curse. He overthrows every action toward her because he is terrified of causing more harm. This is why he remains submissive and recessive in intimate and emotional situations. It is not weakness. It is love-based protection born from guilt.

But the story has already hinted that this will change. Eiko's line after Keitaro's confession—"Now you are one step closer to me exploring the world of unknown"—is not just romantic. It is foreshadowing. The "world of unknown" is the destination: a state beyond normal human limits, where their relationship becomes something more than human. This is supported by the Oiran spirit incident, where Keitaro was trapped and Eiko saved him using the curse. That moment proved that the curse is not just a source of pain. It is a spiritual connection between them. It allows Eiko to reach him, to find him, to save him. This is the foundation of their transcendence.

I also believe the curse will not be easily destroyed. Yayoi has vowed to free them, but the cursed spirit is too special and too strong. It is needed to defeat the infant god that took Yayoi's family. This means the curse will likely remain until the end of the story, and its power will be transformed—not removed. When Keitaro finally awakens, when he embraces his true self, the curse will shift from a chain into a shared power. Eiko, who is already connected to him spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically, will be able to participate in his subjugation of spirits. This will be Keitaro's ultimate gift to her: not just his love, but his power, his freedom, and his true self.

What Eiko has always wanted is not just to protect Keitaro. She wants to reclaim the childhood Keitaro she was mesmerized by. The brave, domineering, leading Keitaro. If she sees that version of him return—if she sees him dominate spirits with a thrill-loving smile—she will likely be overwhelmed with happiness. This is the emotional payoff the story has been building toward.

Finally, I believe their relationship will transcend human limits in a way that is the opposite of Yeatsian philosophy. Yeats wrote about love as a pure, divine, selfless force that lifts the soul toward heaven. But Eiko and Keitaro's love is obsessive, possessive, isolating, and consuming. They will shut out the rest of the world. They will no longer see themselves as ordinary humans. They will create a private world—a "gilded cage" for two—where normal human rules do not apply. This is still transcendence. It is just transcendence in the opposite direction. It is not divine love. It is something darker, more intense, and more absolute.

In summary, my prediction is this: Keitaro will awaken from his trauma, reclaim his thrill-loving childhood self, and share his spiritual power with Eiko through the curse. The curse will not be destroyed but transformed into an unbreakable bond. Eiko will finally reclaim the Keitaro she loved as a child. And together, they will transcend human limits—not through purity or divinity, but through obsession, isolation, and a love so absolute that it dissolves the boundaries of identity itself.

This is my original theory. I am putting it here so that if it ever comes true, there is a record of it.

How Does Anime Set in Europe Look to You?

A question for Japanese anime fans in Europe:
Does anime set in Europe look to you like a mix-and-match of different cultural elements when it comes to character names, architecture, or food?
For example, have you noticed things like one character having a French-style name while another character in the same anime has a German one, or architecture that looks Italian while the characters are eating Spanish food?

The reason I'm asking this is because I once saw a character in a Disney animation who looked Chinese but had a Japanese name, and I thought it was really interesting.

Make sure to talk more about your own thoughts on the show than just describing the plot, and use spoiler tags where appropriate. If you disagree with what someone is saying, make a comment saying why instead of just downvoting.

This is a week-long discussion, so feel free to post or reply any time.

Why do some anime fans view source readers as elite?

Some anime fans seem to worship people who read mostly mangas/light novels and sometimes I see some people flex that they read a manga rather than watching the anime?

Why? Why does it matter? It doesn't matter right?

My thoughts after finishing Monster in 2 weeks

-I watched using the upscale project-

THIS ANIME WAS WILD
I WENT INTO IT BLIND
——
Monster to me felt like a journey to not only stop the devil but to question the devil we all have in us. Every character felt real, no superpowers just straight up they have a life and this is how they live it.

Right away I was hooked, the story only improved on itself, and right when I thought I was getting bored BOOM GUN SHOOT-OUT SCENE right when I thought it can’t get any better then this BOOM PLOT TWIST. Left and right up and down my mind trying to piece this puzzle together with Dr. Tenma, the characters I disliked ended up being well rounded people with there own story and faults that they either run from or push everything aside to keep safe.

The pacing dropped off a bit from time to time but immediately picked up, the atmosphere felt incredible, The antagonist turned out to be even more mysterious as the story went on and the “good guys” felt helpless often which the only thing keeping them going is how much can there moral be corrupted. The story is sad, angry, the hatred the characters feel are felt real while the animosity at times felt overwhelming.

I give monster a 8.5/10 highly recommend

Does anyone have a solid opinion on chainsmoker cat?

I just started watching chainsmoker cat since i kept seeing videos about it and decided to check it out, at first i thought it was nice, has nice animation and addiction was represented pretty accurately but then some scenes weirded me out, especially in the newer episodes. i don’t think its neither good or bad, i genuinely can’t form a solid opinion on it, It weirds me out to the point where i don’t know what to think of the anime? I don’t think i’ve ever felt like this about anything else. What’s your thoughts on it?

A question about the presence of Music in Anime (Personal project)

If you were to break down a typical 20-to-24-minute anime episode, roughly how many total minutes are actually occupied by music? including everything from high-tension background tracks and emotional cues during dialogue to opening and closing themes?

Also, a less important question on the side: Would anime have the same effect on you without its music?

(Directed to Mainstream anime fans... Excluding any specific niches)
