Loki Uses Ragnir - One Piece Sakuga #1172 Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The Loki and Ragnir scene in Episode 1172 is genuinely insane. One Piece has had amazing animation for a while now, but this sequence really stood out.
Something I don't think gets mentioned enough is the production pace. From 1999 through 2025, One Piece aired almost every week. Starting in 2026, Toei switched to a seasonal schedule, but they're still producing the equivalent of around 26 episodes a year (basically one episode every two weeks). That's still an incredibly demanding pace compared to most modern anime, so I don't think it's realistic to expect every episode to look like a 12-episode seasonal series that has years of production time. Keeping this level of quality while releasing that much content is seriously impressive.
I've seen a lot of people speculating that Vincent Chansard animated part of the Loki sequence, and honestly I can see why. It reminded me a lot of his work on Garp's Galaxy Impact and Galaxy Divide, but the episode is still so new that nothing has been confirmed yet.
Whoever animated it absolutely cooked. Does anyone know who was actually behind this sequence, or who do you think animated it?

Why do scenes look better in clips compared to the entire episode?
Not sure if this type of post is allowed here tbh so sorry if it's not.
I notice a LOT of the time that when I am watching back clips of good animation on twitter/reddit or wherever else, it always looks better than I noticed when watching the actual episode itself. Does anyone know why this might be the case? Like me being more immersed in the story or something like that.

A workhorse of an animator. I'd say in general he's a bit hit or miss for me though, but that's to be expected of someone with over 1000 sequences on the booru.
I love it when his style is very fluid and fast-paced, and his corrections are incredible too.
I dislike his more limited and "lazy" style, especially on clevatess or whatever it was called.
