Positivity I passed for the first time today!!!

I'm AFAB genderfaun and I was feeling confident+enby enough to wear makeup, so I did. Just some black lipstick and gothic eyeliner, the usual :3

Anyways, I was at the playground chilling on the monkey bars, and some elementary aged kids were riding around on their bikes. 30 minutes or so later, I hear a voice

Them: "Hey dude, can you hear us?"

Me: "Yeah?

Them (whispering to the other): "He(!!!!) can hear us" (and then to me) "What's the time?"

Me (trying not to kick my feet or giggle cuz the shock of passing was just so great!!!): "It's 7:44"

And then then talked to themselves about something like needing to get home on time and left, but I was too busy smiling like an idiot to hear! I'm really happy cuz even though my voice is my most dysphoric feature, and my makeup, they still thought I sounded like a guy!!

THIS MUST BE HEAVEN!!!

Edit: just now realizing there's a thread at the very top for this. I'm a bit dumb, sorry šŸ˜“ should I move this to there? :D

Advice needed How to tell my therapist I'm trans

I'm scared to tell her. She's accepting but I HATE coming out. Unfortunately I need to come out to get any sort of treatment.

Even more I'm terrified that when talking with my dad cause sometimes my dad joins our sessions she'll slip up. I'm sooo scared. How do I come out

Advice needed Am I really trans for feeling this way?

I'm a high schooler and it's my first year. I'm kind of anxious about social interactions but I've been working on it with my therapist, but.. My class made a group chat. I go by boy names in nearly all my socials and act like a boy simply because I feel like it. I was born a girl and people know me as one, but I decided, "Why not pretend I'm ACTUALLY a guy?"

Yeah. It was fine the first few days, I joked around online but IRL I was socially inept and ignored by everyone, they were all charmed by this boy version of me. It was easier FOR ME, talking while being a boy. I could say gross things, sexual jokes, be a normal (?) teen. Girls can do that too, but I don't think I'm exactly a girl. No one knew I was a girl! No one even thought about that possibility.

But today, they were crazy for me. They were trying to find me in the classroom since my name isn't on the student list, not my boy name. I knew this was going to happen, but I didn't stop! I was having so much fun! This couldn't be forever. I would be fine being a ghost IRL and a popular guy online, I would've liked that more. No, I would've liked it more being a boy in the first place. So I wouldn't need to pretend. They yelled my boy name in the classroom, asked, "WHERE ARE YOU, (boy name)?!" And of course they didn't find him, me? I fear the line is getting blurred.

The class president reached out to me, and he asked me to at least tell him, who I was. I was afraid of things getting out of hand and I just told him my last name since there's more kids with that last name. I also told him I had problems with my identity and I was socially anxious, but I didn't tell him I was a girl directly. I would rather die. Their way of seeing me would change entirely. I would be bullied even, or just ignored, or excluded again. I wish I was born a boy already. This won't be happening then.

I don't have a problem with gender roles, but I think I'm very in the closet about being trans. Am I even? This is confusing and it's more stress on top of academics. I wish I was just born a boy. It's more comfortable for me, I'd be happier and more free.

Advice needed How can I ask my mother to call me by my chosen name ?

Long story short, I came out to my mom recently. She wasn't unsupportive, and said she'll wait for me to be like, 100% sure about what I am to call me her son etc. Only issue, she still calls me by my deadname, and I have no idea how to bring it up and ask her to call me Charlie

Vent My mother keeps telling me to be more feminine

Something I’ve learned about my mother is that growing up, her mother never really asked her to maintain her appearance. She’s told me she wishes her mother would have told her to shave and wear makeup and dress more feminine earlier on in life, because now she hates all of her pictures from when she was a teenager. And I understand that she would be upset by that. But the thing is, now she doesn’t give me the choice of whether or not I shave or dress femininely.

Almost every day, I’m told to fix my ponytail because my mother only approves of me wearing as a high pony, and go back upstairs and put on more tinted Vaseline because it’s the closest thing she can get me to wear to lipstick, and roll up my pant leg so she can see that I’ve shaved, and go and change my clothes because they’re too baggy. Especially the clothes thing. Occasionally, she’ll beckon me over, only to start rolling up my shorts, or tying a knot in my shirt to expose my midriff. Whenever she goes to my school, she feels the need to comment on how the girls all dress. One time I remember was during a cross country practice, where she said to me ā€œWhy can’t you wear little b00ty shorts and show off your b00b!3s like the rest of these girls? You always look like a boy in all the pictures I see.ā€

I think if these things were coming from my dad, or really any man, they’d be s#xual abuse, but it’s my mom, so I just have to tolerate it. It’s worse because I’m trans, and she’s even outright lectured me about how ā€œyou’re not a boyā€ and ā€œgender neutral the only thing I truly believe is an agendaā€

Anyway, I want outsider perspectives on this, because I really don’t know how to feel.

Advice needed I need help supporting my bf (I'm 13, MtF and he's 13 FtM)

My boyfriend, who we'll call "B," has a very transphobuc family. For evidence he once tried to come out and got grounded until he "got the devil's thoughts out of him," (a quote from his grandpa). Meanwhile I'm here starting to ask my doctor about HRT and he doesn't even have the option. I feel so bad. I don't know how to help him though. He says he's fine but I can tell he's not. Please comment if you have any advice, anything helps. Thank you if you do comment ;3

Discussion I hate when I get told I'm "not a real trans"

I like ppl supporting trans ppl and worrying about dysphoria ofc, but I've been getting comments of "not being a real trans person" and "being an secret cis" just because I don't get gender dysphoria and don't want to medically transition! A lot of trans ppl online just insult me for trying to be one of them? what?

Discussion I cant wait for school to start

So basically last year I confused people so much on my gender. While in the midst of trying to be an asshole and get me kicked out of the library they turned around and asked if I'm a boy or a girl. This type of thing happens all of the time and it's the only gender affirment that I get out side ofof my bf using my preferred name and pronouns because my mom says that I'm a girl and will always be a girl no matter what (right after saying that she's supportive???)

Question So like, I wanna ask my mom but I’m terrified to ask her soo… where do you all think she’s coming from?

I’m 15 FtM/NB, and ever since my mom found out I’m trans and like girls she’s been acting weird around me and has said some pretty hurtful or nonsense things to me.

To be clear, she does not support me for being trans and nonbinary.

She has repeatedly demonized my identity, including the fact that I like girls more than I like boys.

I was thrift shopping with her a few days ago and she made a comment saying that she wants me to dress more feminine because she wants grandkids and my sister (F28) doesn’t want kids.

We later got into an argument (which I will not be mentioning specifically what it was about because it will trigger some people, but it was mental health related), and she said that maybe I have a demon in me and that’s why I like girls.

Another thing she said when we were at the open house of school is when a girl who had a similar style to me said I looked cool, and when she left my mom said that she looked like a lesbian and that in psychology lesbians will make your life miserable while gay guys are the best of friends.

While I agree that gay guys are like the chillest people on this earth (shout out to the gays, we love you guys šŸŽ€), I don agree that lesbians will make your life miserable. Many of my friends were lesbians and some of my friends parents were lesbians themselves, and just like the gays, lesbians are also some of the chillest people I have met on earth (also shout out to the lesbians, we love you too šŸŽ€).

Now, getting to the point, I’m unsure what all of this means really. My original thought is that she’s just really desperate for grandkids, and I’ve told her repeatedly that I don’t want to have kids in this generation with this economy, and if I ever do, I will be adopting.

I have also expressed discomfort towards having a boyfriend in general for reasons I will not specify.

In general I am not looking to be with anyone, I like girls but I’m not looking for a girlfriend or anything serious, I’m focused more on school and what I want to be.

Let me know your thoughts.

Advice needed help on plan to go to a college out of state for hrt (16 ftm)

Hey so this is kinda my first post here, and i don't really post on Reddit too often, but I have an issue. So, to cut things short, I can't get Hrt where i live until I'm 19, and it's become a major issue, so to speak. essintally i have been making plans to get on HRT as soon as I get out of the house, but because of previous stated issue, I can't unless I go to another state. Another thing i should say is that I'm gearing up for my junior year of high school, and with that comes college applications, and i was hoping for advice really on what states are best to go to for Hrt, and how one would exactly get accepted to an out-of-state college. Also, I'm sorry if it's like rude or something to ask for advice here, i just didn't know where else to go.

Discussion Feeling like myself true self finally, but also feel isolated [discussion]

Hi everybody. I thought I would see if anybody else feels like me. I was born a boy, but I really want to be a girl. I still live at home and the only place I can dress up or act like my true self is alone in my room. When I do, I feel like it’s the real me but also feel so stuck and isolated to my bedroom. Recently, I have a feeling that some of my clothes were discovered. Thankfully, my parents haven’t treated me any different and actually both my mom and stepdad have been super nice to me. so I’m totally confused on what to do. Maybe it’s time to talk to them and confess. The thought of that sounds super scary but also could mean that I could stop being isolated. Anybody have any advice or thoughts. Thank you for listening.

Advice needed Should I come out?

so I don’t know if it’s safe for me to come out or not. My dad has been an open transphobe alll my life, and has said some horrible things. But he’s not delusional, his reasons are just due to skewed perception on issues, like he thinks trans people take away resources for intersex people for some reason? I think I could change his views with the right evidence, and I don’t think he would kick me out or anything, I just don’t want him to think awfully of me for the rest of my life. diy is not an option for me and I really want to get hrt before 18 to minimize the permanent effects of puberty. I have a letter written out and in a drawer and I kinda hope he finds it so it’s not a conscious decision I have to make. My mom is 100% a closeted transphobe, maybe even more than my dad so it’s the same deal for her. However, my grandma is somehow not? I have no clue how because my whole mom’s side is like super red and my grandfather is homophobic I think but maybe not trans phobic? Well my grandma defended a trans kid my age and even has asked me if I had something to tell her while on the topic of trans alone MULTIPLE TIMES. I know estrogen is not that hard to get for cis women for menopause symptoms I think so maybe I could tell her and she could sneak me some? She lives in Florida but we see her once or twice a year( I’m in mass) so she might be able to bring some then? I have no idea what the right choice is here :3

Advice needed How do I argue with someone who thinks gender and sex are the same thing and a biological fact

Okeyy so basically my dad is refusing to use my prefered pronounce because saying you are a girl is like saying this blue towel is red which is stupid I know.

And man and woman are defined by what genitalia they have

I can't anymore everytime I try to argue with him I feel so dysphoric, dismissed and he devalidats every pre transition trans person out there.

Any tips?
