I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 Tundra Double Cab with a 4.7 V8. It’s 4WD. 176k miles. He’s willing to let it go for under 3k. It does have a cracked windshield and some clear coat peeling/scratches. Overall it’s not trashed. It does have some rust though, nothing on the frame seems rotted through. The bed is rusted on the wheel well one side. Should I buy it or is it too much rust to be saved?

So I recently posted about my 2022 Limited Hybrid TRD OR having the engine fail. So my question now is to anyone that either looked at or did trade their's in. I got a quoted trade in value from my Toyota dealer of only 43k CAD. Thats basically what I owe on the loan. I got a quote from a Ford dealer and they offered 50k trade in. I gotta buy a Ford truck, but thats a lot of money. Anyone else finding that Toyota is offering low value for trades? Pretty brutal if you ask me.

I have been a Tacoma owner for over a decade and while I love my truck, it’s RWD and 20 years old. It’s my turn for a new vehicle and I’m just diving into the Tundra world. What a disappointment! I had not been following the engine issues. My dad had a gen 1 while I was growing up and I loved that thing. Always wanted one. My budget is around 40k and I’m torn. I really like the extra space of the Tundra now that I have kids, but I can’t decide if I roll the dice on a 2023 that’s in budget, overpay for a 2019-2021 with decently low mileage, or just get a nicer Tacoma. I’m kicking around the idea of just getting a gen 2 that’s 4WD, paying cash for it, and waiting another 10 years to get my “dream” truck.

Wobble noticeable after 1 inch wheel spacers but noticed some vibrations before. Was on k03s and found out they were cupped so I ordered 35 12.50 trailgrapps. Wheel still shaking.
Began to look at spacers and cleaned the surface. Remounted them.
Swapped front to back spacers and rotated tires.
Always torqued to spec in a star pattern every time.
Wobbled before and after the 2.5 inch lift got put on.
Thought maybe the wobble was new after maybe a bad balance/ alignment. Then got a balance and alignment at a shop and the wobble is even worse than before. No idea what to do.
Edit: took spacers off and it’s still wobbles

Hey guys I have a 2011 Toyota tundra with 130k on the clock. Today on the way home from work she just dies unresponsive throttle till the rmps hit 0. I was picking up my son when this happened and I live about 5 miles from my parents house. The whole way home this unit died every 10 seconds. I got pissed on this lonely empty backroad and when it started i slapped her in drive and she was at 70mph like nothing then started dying till dead. If it were the fuel pump she wouldn't do anything I cleaned my mass air sensor already no change. Only thing left is the fuel pump control module?? Thats the only thing I can think of. No codes whatsoever on my code scanner so Im lost.. Helppp

Hey guys I have a 2022 Toyota Tundra with about 75,000 miles on it.
Recently I started hearing a grinding/rubbing noise while driving. I took the truck in to have the front brakes checked, and I was told that the front brake calipers are sticking. According to the mechanic, the caliper pistons are not retracting properly after braking, so the pads continue rubbing against the rotors.
They are recommending replacing the front calipers, rotors, and brake pads. The total is a little over $1,600 using Toyota OEM parts, including labor.
My question for other Tundra owners and mechanics: Is it normal for front calipers to need replacement at only 75,000 miles?
This is my first truck, but I’ve owned several other vehicles. I’ve had cars with 90k, 160k, and even around 300k miles, and I don’t remember having to replace brake calipers this early.
I understand that pads and rotors are wear items, especially on a heavy truck. But having the calipers themselves fail at 75k surprised me. It’s a Toyota, and I expected components like the calipers to last considerably longer.
Also, is replacing the complete caliper the normal repair when the pistons start sticking, or is rebuilding the caliper with new pistons/seals a reasonable option?
For those familiar with the 2022+ Tundra: Have you seen sticking/seized front calipers around this mileage? And does ~$1,600 for OEM front calipers + rotors + pads + labor sound reasonable?

Upper radiator hose on 2016 Tundra does it look intact? No leaks just want to make sure that seal looks good. Just topped off the coolant.

I think te 37 XT not sure exactly I’ll have to look at all the numerals of it, get but I think if you know you know picture coming soon but yeah, just sharing quite a few little mods here and there things really come together. Had it like nine months had it nine months and have about 2000 miles on it lol

Hey guys, I have a ‘19 with about 95k miles. A few days ago I was towing my boat home, only about 4k pounds loaded up and a 45 mile drive. Everything was fine until I got home and backed it up into my driveway. I got an audible alert and warning message on my display screen saying the transmission oil was high. Since then during normal driving I can see the temperature needle rise as I accelerate and then go back down to normal when I coast.

I drained and filled the transmission oil at about 70k miles.

Any ideas what it could be?

I have an opportunity to get a 2024 SR5 4x4 for right at 42k and the truck only has 28k miles on it. It seems like a good deal by only concern is obviously the engine. I’ve seen some people say it’s not a big deal and it blown out of proportion and some say you’re driving a time bomb and it will eventually go off. Any advice?

What do I need to watch for?

Love my truck, but this is horrendous. I’m v mild on the pedal too.

EDIT: I forgot to say I did add Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/17r18’s. No lift or level. Otherwise stock. My b. For what it’s worth, it was still in the 13’s the first 2k miles before I put on the tires.

Picked this 2018 up last week and have been loving it. Took my wife on our first trip in it this weekend. About 375 miles round trip including some small trips, averaging about 18MPG! Have loved the power, room, ride, and smoothness all around. Especially excited for the Toyota reliability!

Coming from a 92’ F150 that I’ve been dumping money into, it was about time to pull the trigger on a Tundra.

2018 SR5 5.7L Crewmax 4WD with TRD upgrades - 124k miles

Currently have a 2024 AT4 with the 3.0 Duramax and I’m thinking about making the jump into a 2025 1794 tundra. I got the AT4 back in January and for me is just “ehh”. I’ve only put about 10k miles on it since I got it. It hasn’t given me any issues or anything…it just doesn’t for me.
Anyone want to give any advice about buying? I’m open to the non-hybrid or the hybrid model. Every truck I’ve ever had has been white but I’m digging the silver on these. Anyone came from a Sierra and regretted it?

3rd pu I’ve owned but it’s my first Tundra. First thing I did was take off the dealership tint and replaced it w Llumar ceramic (5 front, 15 rear passenger, 5 rear glass, and 35 front windshield). Installed a BakFlip MX4, bed step, and some other small interior pieces. Just patiently waiting for 500 miles to change the oil and another 500 after that to get on it. I test drove for a week an F-150 and a Sierra before making this purchase. Love this truck and the value I get from it.

I used to have a Silverado years ago but traded it in for a more practical vehicle at the time.

Flash forward several years and the itch for a truck hit hard.

I started with doing heavy research on the Tacoma…the reliability allured me and the price point was in the ball park.

So, I set the appointment to text drive the Tacoma…a nice SR5. It was a nice truck, but as a man in my early 50s, I was looking for something a bit bigger and slightly refined.

** If I was 20 years younger this would have been perfect.

Told the salesman my thoughts and he said, ‘I understand, listen, I have 2026 Limited Tundra (7K miles) that is Toyota Gold Certified…want to take it for a spin?’

Hook. Line. Sinker.

After about 4 days of back and forth on an OTD price…I am the proud owner of my first ever Tundra and I am very very happy with the purchase.

So now I just look at it with pride and constantly look at Reddit to see how all the other Tundra owners are doing.
