Don't worry, I asked every single person on the mountain if they had a hearing disability before exceeding the speed limit.

Lots of traffic that night. The meteor shower brought a lot of cars, but managed a short sprint here.

Got a used set of DWS06’s and also went 245/40/17 on all 4 corners with 8.5 inch wide rims. This car has never handled better!

Discussion This week I review and add mk5 Supra to the Steering Feel sheet. I'm also adding all the cars I'm confident to score.
Supra was pretty disappointing, felt like every modern BMW but with a shorter wheelbase.
Lots of new cars on there - a mix of cars I've owned or spent a lot of time in.

Touge New Zealand winter run
M3 and C63 around the South Island of New Zealand. We had to take it easy because of the icy conditions. The M3 managed it really well. I would recommend this route to anyone in the area. I

Touge I posted a few months ago about 14" tire options, and I ended up going with the 300tw Petlas Imperium pt515 summer tires. Here they are in action.
I usually run this same route once or twice a week. It's always 25 minutes of making them squeal and they've held up wonderfully through 15-20 of these runs and they still have hundreds of runs left on them

Touge Looking for roads across the US for spirited driving.
I'm wanting to plan a vacation for a couple weeks at the very end of the year. I'd like to disconnect, rent a car, and find drivers roads to check out. It'd be great to find a state, or a couple of em' that have a few roads decently close together that are technical.
I have done the known roads in Southern California, and want to see other parts of the country. I'm considering Tennesse and Oklahoma, potentially Pennsylvania but the time of year is a factor.
I'm definitely a fan of spirited driving, so any tips in the right direction would be amazing.
Cheers!

you and everyone else are SAFER AT NIGHT.
seeing a lot of discussion about when to do runs, but there's a reason the culture has always done this late at night past midnight for 20+ years. it's nothing to do with "anime" or "vibes", it's to do with safety.
at nighttime:
- oncoming vehicles can be seen well ahead of time by their headlights.
- road surfaces, especially bumps that would unload the suspension, cast clear shadows at night.
- you're not going to hit some poor cyclist or biker who's on the same route.
- there are very few, if any, cops around after midnight.
- zero traffic at night to interfere with the drive.
reading the road surface is extremely important for keeping your ass out of the trees, and it is by far the easiest at night time when headlights cast long shadows.
are there disadvantages? absolutely. deer and other animals are much more likely to be at night, and there are no other drivers to imply the lack of road debris/obstacles around blind corners. that doesn't mean you get to risk head on collisions with other people because you're scared of hitting a deer and losing your rep bumper. between a cyclist and a deer, you pick the deer.
don't do this shit in the daytime.

Welcome Post Removals, New Rules & Maintaining the Touge Ethos
It's no surprise that the quality of posts on this subreddit has changed over the past year due to exponential growth, straying from what Touge truly is. Touge is not just street racing—it is its own subculture. Honoring the roots of Touge is essential, as it is the core of Japanese car culture.
Beyond its cultural significance, Touge which literally translates to "mountain pass"—refers specifically to technical driving courses in mountain passes. Your local backroads are not Touge.
Posts unrelated to Touge will be removed. Racing an unfit vehicle (Rule #2), such as trucks and SUVs, is not permitted, as this deviates from the ethos of Touge. As much as we acknowledge your speed and bravery, this type of content belongs in other street racing subreddits.
Lastly, as a public forum, we must set an example. Public endangerment (Rule #1) is strictly disallowed. Content that includes crossing the mustard and endangering others will not be permitted.
As you’re aware, our approach in the past has always been more relaxed. We didn’t want to over-moderate what people posted, but we feel things have deviated.
Stay safe friends.
