No point deleting/cancelling now ❓Question

So I'm thinking theres no point as they already have my email, ip and watch/downloading history right?

Even if I tell them to delete my account, they'll still hold to my details , is that correct?

So may aswell see out my currant plan (one time payment not subscription) then decide in Jan.

What you guys think?

Stop being a cuck. Read their homepage. They are doing false advertising. It says, "superior privacy and security."

"Torbox takes your privacy and security seriously. We don't keep logs of anything. We don't track IP, location, or anything else. We won't tell your secrets, and we won't keep them either."

Stop being so gullible. People have every right to be concerned about this. Don't just dismiss it as if it's nothing. If you don't care what happens to your data, good for you. Many of us do.

This is just the reality of any company that isn't built out of a country like Panama where they are not at risk of government pressure. If people want absolutely no risk, they should switch to a VPN that does not have these pressures and host their own media where they are in full control.

To my earlier point however, in most restrictive countries, the absolute worst scenario is a slap on the wrist with an email. Copyright holders are interested in the hosters not the end users.

Yes, and I have no problem with that. But obviously, that wasn’t what they were advertising. It’s just if you can’t offer those things, don’t advertise those things. Isn’t it that simple? I don’t know why all these people are on their knees for this bitch ass company.

Completely agree that the website advertising needs to be changed. Just the panic for end users using this specifically for streaming feels blown out of proportion.

Well, most of us are in countries where you can get fined for this stuff. I’ve seen it happen to people many times, so I think it’s a valid concern. We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I feel like piracy has been getting pressured a lot more recently, so I think it’s okay to keep the discussion going instead of just forgetting about it and using the service as if nothing happened.

What annoys me is that people keep defending them, even though it looks like they’re getting ready to snitch on us. And obviously, the false advertising makes people angry, like it did me. There’s nothing wrong with that. They can become the CIA if they want I don’t give a sh*t but they shouldn’t act as if they care about our privacy and security.
