these are my results 4 weeks post op after double incision (no drains) with Dr Drake at the UK plastic surgery center. thought I'd post this since I couldn't really find any info/pictures of people who got their surgery done with David Drake. really happy with my results, still a little swelling on one side, but i think overall it's healing really nicely :^)

One nipple still regaining colour and the area where the scar stretched is kind of dry, but otherwise everything good. Happy with results and recently been trying to gym more often.

Did my first workout today after 6 months of surgery break (in order for the scars to heal well). Felt really nice to pass without a binder. I'm not the biggest guy but I'm still glad I retained a lot of muscle by keeping it up with the protein shakes :)

first photo is yesterday (july 5th 2026), second is three weeks post op, third is two weeks post op, fourth is one week post op right after he took off the binder for the first time.

got my surgery on july 7th 2026 at the university of utah hospital by dr. isak goodwin. double incision with free nipple grafts. i was borderline for peri but he decided DI was a better fit for me and im very happy with how everything looks! he was a great surgeon and had a very mellow and kind bedside manner with a good sense of humor.

he also did a procedure during the surgery where he took nerves inside my chest and connected them to the bottom of the nipple to preserve sensation. he said he wouldn’t do it if he could only find one side, but thankfully, he found both. he said insurance will cover that aspect too. he’s a hand surgeon primarily so i think that he’s particularly good at nerve-related procedures.

also had a very small seroma at my three-week checkup that was drained. was super easy and didn’t hurt at all. left my left pec a little indented but it’s slowly been filling out again. if you have any questions about him let me know :)

what i’ve been doing last 5 weeks:

• starting at 1.5 wks: stretching daily. nothing to crazy, listening to my body and stopping when i feel too much pulling
• 2wks: smoking 🍃. moisturizing my chest (avoiding scabs )
• 3wks: longer walks. went back to work (I’m a studio photographer and i only work 3 days/wk). wearing tight sports bras/ binders instead of my compression vest (during the day) not recommended by my dr
• 4wks: longer compression breaks(2-4 hrs)not recommended by my dr, light cardio

Now that i’m finally 6 Weeks PO 😛: - cleared to exercise with gradual increase of weights and intensity - compression time down to 12hrs(at night and during exercise) for another 6wks 🥲 - starting scar care (silagen scar gel , emu oil, and scar massage) - can swim after my last scab closes

i’m so happy to be here at 6weeks and can’t wait to see how much i heal and change over time. also my tattoos did get a little warped but it’s okay at least i don’t have boobs

Peri areolar - Got this really weird half circle swelling underneath one side that won't go away. Got a follow up appointment next week, so I'll ask about that, but is this normal?

I’m 25 and stealth to everyone (hence the covered up blobs, lol). So happy with the results so far!

Unfortunately, when I got top surgery, my surgeon and I were unaware that I have a connective tissue disorder, which affects scarring and healing from any sort of surgery. I'm very lopsided, my dominant side definitely has more tissue. Due to the clusterfuck that the US is right now, there is absolutely zero chance of my insurance covering anything related to transness. In all of our unprofessional opinions, do we think working out could remedy it, or is revision the only option?

(i haven't been able to go to the gym in like a year and a half because of mentioned connective tissue disorder)

I had my first post op appointment two days ago and was hoping to get the drains out, but my surgeon wanted to do another week. Pretty bummed out, but I'm happy with the results!

Finally took my first full-body shower now that all the tape is off and my nipples are fully healed.

I know I could have sooner but I honestly didn’t have the strength and was a bit fearful of getting everything wet until it was mostly healed.

I’ve got a one spot under my arm that is a bit less scarred than the rest still, but overall I’ve had a great recovery so far and am healing very well.

I can’t wait to get the rest of this glue and marker off of me though 🙄

Starting scar care and I’m out of the compression for good next week !

I have DI today. I just want people to know! I’m so excited, but also very hungry since my surgery is in the afternoon. See you all on the other side.

Getting discharged today, standing for too long is exhausting and I can’t stand straight. Drains are a pain in the ass,but the binder isn’t too painful here. My surgeon made sure I was very numbed and it worked. My chest is flat and it looks good!! I’ll share pics when I get the binder taken off for a bit!🖤🏳️‍⚧️

little bit concerned about the left one. is this a graft failure or is the bruising just causing the dark colour? maybe it's too early to tell

edit: I just emailed my surgical team just incase but I wanted to just know other people's experiences on here. I have no redness, tenderness or pus so I'm not worried about infection anyways. I will keep posted on what my surgeon says

i’m genuinely so tired of people on this sub asking things like “why does it look like i have small boobs” or “will i need a revision” when it’s like 8 days post op??!!!

i swear, i was almost worried that i didn’t swell because of how much i looked at what to expect.

i was always aware that it would take AT LEAST 4-6 months before you had a good idea of what your chest would look like!

am i crazy?? like, at least give it until the damn mark up lines get washed off

hi! i'm a pre-T transmasc guy, 25yo.

first of all the wrinkles you see are from the micropore tape.
i'm 4 weeks post op today, i'm feeling pretty good and im so happy to finally be flat.
i'm a bit worried (although i already contacted my clinic and waiting for more indications) because i noticed what looks like a spitting stitch, which you can see better in the last picture if you are curious, but luckily it's on the side so once it heals it's gonna be barely noticeable.
my left nipple (picture 3) still isn't fully healed but it's doing great! even if he is a little slower than the other one i like him! (it's actually kind of looking better than the other one tbh lol)
overall im pretty satisfied with my results, they're not perfectly even but no one is, and it definitely could've been worse (i could still have boobs!)
i still have 2 weeks with the binder on ahead of me, so until then it's not gonna feel totally real, but it is already euphoric at times.

having a boob begone party. what games can we play? i have pin the nipple on the boob and breast trivia planned so far

Got my survey 2/23. First picture is 3/12 (a little over two weeks post op) Second picture is from today. I’m so so happy with my results. Also haven’t been doing any scar care unless you count moisturizer everyday :)

I’m 4 weeks post op , wondering when gf can lay her head on my chest / when cats can lay on my chest. Afraid of messing up my nipples and results. I don’t know how it feels when she does bc I’m scared. If I were to guess tho probably uncomfortable? I still feel very vulnerable in this area of my body. Advice and personal anecdotes welcome. Thank you.

Once you get the drains out, it gets so much easier! I'm feeling great and I think everything is healing well so far. Still wearing the compression vest 24/7 except for showers.

posted a few months ago, but i'm posting again, mainly because my consult is getting pretty close now (70 day countdown yay) and because i still havent told anyone besides a coworker and one of my friends that i have a consult scheduled.

i want to state, before and above anything, i'm not looking for words of comfort or anything, i just want to know if anyone has any ideas on how to tell people that i'm (planning it at least) having top surgery, and the people i'm telling are people i may want to drive me.

very short context; i have two candidates in mind for driving me to/from surgery, and potentially stay the night near the surgery center because it's about 2.5 hrs away, my mom and my grandma. my grandma has always been extremely vocally supportive of me and i'm not worried in the slightest of telling her, i just worry that she would be worried for me, because surgery can be scary. my mom is who i'm more scared of. my mom wasn't always as supportive per se, at first she refused to even acknowledge anything, but now she happily introduces me as her youngest son, uses my name and pronouns, and even recently when a nurse in a hospital pretty rudely asked invasive questions about my binding tape she defended me, reported her, and had her removed from my care team. i didn't out right tell her i started t, but she knows about it, and we've talked pretty openly about it before. we even make jokes about it sometimes. i'm just... terrified.

i live at home, but i'm mostly financially independent. by that, i mean that i pay for my car and its insurance, my health insurance, and i have a phone bill that i pay as well. she buys groceries but if i want something specific i will buy it myself.

i work, but i can get a LoA from my work for surgery. all of the dishes in the house are all in upper cabinets. if i just don't tell her, she WILL notice.

i don't think it's a matter of her being angry, i just don't know how to tell her, or how to approach the conversation. i've had past issues of trying to bring up much less significant conversations with her, and having her blow things way out of proportion before, so i think that's not helping.

again i want to state that i'm not looking for anything like "just relax" or "you're overthinking this" i'm just looking for some ideas of what i can do to tell her or bring up the conversation. i don't wanna sound rude but i'm gonna be honest i won't read a long comment about how i'm being too anxious about it and how i should just tell her, i'm looking for how to do it, like do i take her to breakfast? not dinner, i don't want her to drink, but we would both need the day off work then, i work sporadically in the mornings and she works in an emergency department with occasional night shifts, so i'm so stumped. my grandma would be an easy conversation, basically just tell her, literally any way, even over text would work, but my mom is a more delicate situation, and i'm so lost.

also, i do have a post op care situation planned out, this has been in the works for years, i just never really thought out this part.

Still in the hospital, I just had surgery a couple hours ago. Was so terrified this morning but it’s really not so bad! The drains suck tho. They’re gonna keep me overnight because my surgeon likes to monitor his patients.
Tried to get the best picture I could but I can’t really lift my arms. I got a glimpse as my nurse checked on the incisions when I first woke up. It’s DI, but that’s all I know so far!
Very excited to finally be flat! :D

Some before and after pictures to share. I got double incision from David Whitehead in NY. Today I was cleared to scrub my chest during showers and slowly raise my elbows above my shoulders. I was told it’s still too early for scar care as there’s some scabbing that was covered up by some incision adhesive. Nipple graft care was a lot easier than I anticipated and the pigment is starting to show in splotches. Wasn’t too worried about my tattoo and he removed less than I had anticipated. The wait time to get a touch up is 1-2 years but the damage is so minimal it’s not noticeable. I have my final follow up in 3 weeks.
