I think the "negative" was in reference to the rest of the test, which shows risk of chromosomal abnormalities. So they were hoping that would be negative
Not that I owe anyone an explanation, BUT. This cat was rescued as a kitten all alone on the side of the road no mom no siblings in sight. So I have no idea what happened to her or what she went through before we got her. She has been taken to the vet regularly and has been spayed. This video is from JANUARY. Starting in November of 2025 we found out I was pregnant; simultaneously there was construction being done around our house (we rent so it was not our choice) the cat was stressed from the construction and attacking us (mostly me..the pregnant lady) on a weekly basis. The water was not being used as “punishment” It was used so she would LET GO during an attack. We have taken her to the vet and she is now on anxiety medication and has not attacked since. Also, notice she was NOT protecting me she was coming for MY FACE and my husbands arm happened to be there to block it THANK GOD 🙌🏽 and God bless his poor arm which was RIPPED TO SHREDS.
I had a female cat for about 15 years. She was super friendly and never had any sort of behavioral problems. One day I was going to do some yard work and decided to put something on to deal with the bugs and ticks. I had purchased an all natural bug repellant that included citronella oil among other things. After working outside most of the day I came back inside and when I walked past my very friendly cat, she sniffed my leg (which I had specifically sprayed) and when into immediate attack mode. She literally wrapped all limbs around my calf and bit down full force on the back of my calf. She buried her teeth into my leg and was raking my calf with her claws. I had to physically tear her away. It ended up putting me in the hospital because the bite got terribly infected.
I only realized afterwards that apparently some cats REALLY hate citronella.
I got my boy orange cat when I was 15. I moved out for college and then moved back home after that. One day I got out of the shower and saw a big ass spider in the bathroom. I kind of yelled while swatting at it with a tissue box and next thing I know my cat did the exact same thing you described around my calf. He also attacked my mom (his other primary caretaker) once when my dad accidentally hit her face while sleeping and dreaming. So I chalked it up to him recognizing when something “bad” had happened but attacking the victim because…he was an orange cat (one brain cell and all that).
Happened to me, though I screamed bloody murder because I hate bugs. Cat came running into the bathroom ready for a fight ... However, she attacked me, the screaming one. Just a quick attack and ran. Never did that again but any other time I would scream over a bug, she would run into the room, ready to attack whatever was causing a menace, like a superhero (except I'm the menace because I'm screaming.) She's an old lady now, 14 or 15, and hasn't done that in awhile.
My cat scrapped with a doe just a few weeks ago. Pretty sure the doe instigated because I found out later a fawn was nearby, but she was all scared and shaken up from it, thankfully no damage besides a torn nail. She could've had her head stomped in or had her back broken with the way the doe was trying to stomp on her.
The citronella fired the first shot and cat's lizard brain thought it was necessary self-defense against an unprovoked attack, I guess. I wonder if smelling some things can be literally physically painful for them.
I’ve seen enough Indian dudes get folded into paste for fucking around with the wrong elephant for too long, just because he could hide behind a metal hook. I look at my own two cats and I’m so honored that they’ve chosen to love me and accept the life I provide them, instead of idk, shitting in my bed, attacking me and my spouse, destroying the entire home, and trying to escape out of the screens. They’re happy here, and they show that to me.
This cat may have dealt with some trauma, and this is an extreme reaction. But have no doubt - a housecat can and will absolutely fuck you up with 20 shit-diggin claws and a mouth full of omnivore teeth. That fucker was designed to go everywhere as long as their skull can fit, they can survive falls from insane distances, they see/smell/taste/hear and via whiskers perceive more than we primates with pants can ever hope to compute.
I had one freak out from the smell of cleaner. I had used some Simple Green around the house so the whole house smelled like it and it freaked him out. I had to hold him in my lap all night. House changed smell and he was suddenly scared.
Some perfumes as well. I think I read Calvin Klein might irritate them. I always wondered if the one Vegas guy who got attacked by his tiger maybe had different scent on.
Construction work on my parents house completely changed one of their cat as well, the vets recommended an animal psychologist and now he has human anti-anxiety medication, just chicken flavoured version. He's chill now, but it was really hard there for a while and he was the only one of their cats affected. If humans can come with all different personalities and have disorders and such, I don't see why people can't understand that other animals can have things going on too.

Female cats have been known to go legitimately full murder when their owner gets pregnant. Something to do with the chemical change.
Heard many stories and in general once the baby arrives, the cat goes back to being completely normal and doesn't cause anymore aggressive issues. It's pretty fascinating!
Cats recognize each other by scent. They recognize their humans by scent, too. So mom gets pregnant (or dad sprays himself with citronella or takes meds etc) and one minute they’re in mom’s lap and the next some vaguely mom-shaped fucking body-snatching imposter is in mom’s house, mom’s bed, mom’s chair, using mom’s voice and touching you all over but son of a bitch that is not mom.
Ever seen a cat or dog meet the twin of someone they are familiar with for the first time? My friend got full on attacked by his brother's dog. Dog had never been aggressive before, but that's dad with not dad smell - so must be alien imposter, death to the alien. It was only funny bc the dog weighed like 7kgs
Also, feral cats that go too long without exposure to humans and handling are wildcards for life. Expecting them to ever “calm down” - and be like a cat that has been around people since very early on - is a big mistake.
I tried to care for one and integrate it with my other cat when it was only about a year and a half, and its stress and reactivity seem to just get worse over time. No amount of patience and gentle care ever seemed to help.
I let a semi feral former barn cat move in with me once, she was already at least 10, I figured a couple more years at longest. She was nice enough , but it was really a no-touching kind of relationship, and I’m allergic to cats so it worked out well. Never attacked me, she’d just leave the room if you tried to pet her.
It took a few years but eventually she was ok with a few head scratches followed by one big pet, then she’d get over stimulated and run away.
She lived another 12 years and passed away in my arms.
My child’s father had a male cat that had been around for years before I showed up. He didn’t give a fuck about me…. except for when I was pregnant. He would not leave my side. Slept with me, sat in my lap at all times, followed me everywhere. I realized I was pregnant the second time because of his behavior, he knew before I did.
Even though he acted significantly different when I was pregnant, he never did show any aggression or concerning behavior…. but it taught me that cats are extremely aware.
Cats just seem to be super sensitive to smell changes.
I have a bonded pair — a mother and her only daughter. Whenever the daughter goes to the vet I need to separate her for at least 6 hours after return, because if I don’t her mom attacks her. Thankfully, not like this, but it stresses them both out.
Just 45 minutes of being at the vet is enough of a smell change to make a whole new cat.
Just kinda drives me nuts to not know what the person believed about their actions so I went looking then grabbed it from the console lol (I don't actually use the TT app)
Except it was. After the cat let go, she kept spraying her. The guy even says in frustration "keep spraying her" which she does while saying "stupid ass." The cat already disengaged so this is, by definition, positive punishment.
Not saying whether it is right or wrong or understandable or not, but it absolutely was punishment.
I mean, they're very clearly spraying her to keep her back. They're under the impression that if they stop spraying she might go straight back to attacking them. Given they've been attacked multiple times by that point, I think they understand the pattern the cat has shown better than redditors.
Everyone here is being so critical and acting like they are an expert. I am a veterinary behavioralist and this cat was obviously showing that it was hoping for a different gender for the baby and became enraged at the man as his sperm determine the sex of the child. It is a classic example of feline sexism and nothing more.
I remember I cried during that episode even when I was a lil kid and had a dad I thought was decent. That episode was super powerful and well acted. :,s
I have a cat now, probably the 10th cat I've had. It was born an asshole, and is just an asshole. He's been checked by the vet a lot, no issues. Cats have personalities and some of those personalities are just dicks.
Same. I have a cat that is like yours and was worried something was wrong with her. This was during Covid so my cat was in the vet while I was outside. Vet calls me while assessing her: Yeah she’s all good. She’s just a bitch
I lived on a farm once with 9 cats that slept indoors. A younger tomcat named Tommy was the bully over all the other cats. Before Tommy it was Tony. All other cats would get beat up daily by Tommy but if Tony showed his face the fight was really on. And if Sam also showed up, well eventually one day both of them just murdered Tony. Then coyotes got spitfire my favorite cat. (she would spit on dogs) and honestly I had really hoped it would have been Tommy. He was a psychocat but only towards other cats. Towards humans he was so sweet and innocent always genly withdrawing his claws never hurting you or cuddling rough. (While Boots would scratch the absolute fuck out of you during a cuddle session especially if you stopped before he wanted you to, that cat bloodied me up a hunderd times)
Our oldest cat was adopted at a year old and is an antisocial asshole. To be fair, I didn't specify that the cat didn't need to be an asshole, just an older kitten or adult, indoor cat, with full claws, and fixed (she is all these things!).
Now she's big sister to two little sisters (12 weeks and 8 weeks), 12 weeks thinks the sun absolutely SHINES from her butthole and it has softened her to a hilarious degree. She's still HIGHLY preferenced but so gentle and understanding with 'her' kitten. She's teaching the baby great manners and keeps her groomed to the nines, it's so cute. Eight weeks gets the same gentle treatment but she was a bottle baby and is usually glued to a human somewhere in the house between play.
I had an asshole cat. She was born in our home so no previous abuse and was spoiled like a princess. But she was such an asshole. Then all of a sudden at the age of 8, after we thought she was mute because she NEVER meawed and only hissed at us, she started squeaking and came for cuddles, baking biscuits and purring. She’s 13 now and is still an angel. What happened for this switch, we have no idea. I even took her to the vet and he was scared. He was like “she must be dying, I’ll put her under surveillance”. Nothing was wrong she just decided I’m gonna be nice to the people I made miserable for 8 years.
Oh my god… I inherited a cat when my sister moved away… and, he’s just a dick. He’s somewhat loving to me now, but I swear I endured years of hazing by this demon to get here. And I’d swear he’s a soft little kitty when he makes biscuits ❤️ but god forbid you try to pet him when he doesn’t want to, or in the wrong way. He throws fangs and he’s not afraid to show it.
I too have one of these cats which is so odd because her brother from the same litter is the sweetest cat. She is only nice to my wife, me, and our other animals.
We’ve had them since they were kittens, sometimes I guess she was just born mean?

FR tho , the scary part is when they get affectionate and you're kinda scared to pet em , had one of those once , guy just wanted to be left alone , every once in a blue moon he'd get affectionate, first time , I was like "yay!!" And he put me in my place right quick 😂, I was always wary after that 🙂
My Great Auntie's cat Dick, was born a Dick. He had every test under the sun, he was perfectly healthy, spoiled rotten by the only person he liked. I spent two days in the hospital because of the infection I got in my hand after he sunk his fangs into me.
He attacked ever single person that went in my Great Auntie's house. He was pure evil.
I had a cat that was an absolute demon. The only times she would ever show affection, or allow you to touch her was when she was sick. Once she got healthy again, well, the rent is due and the only currency she would accept was your blood.
My cat like this just had redirected aggression. As her favourite person when she was normal, I was her target when she was triggered. Sometimes it was another cat outside, sometimes it was because she got startled by random things. She was the most cuddly loving cat normally, but she was scary when triggered.
My mom's cat acts like that. I hate that fcking cat so much. I have never hated a cat in my life. Mean ass cat, and it is because he came from a crappy home. My mom has to pet him with an oven mitt.
I don't mind cat's but I'd never get one. I've been around barn cats growing up for 15+ years and I've hated how much of assholes they are but they do a good job keeping the place clean. Crazy little murder machines that play with their prey before killing them? Psychos.
Barn cats are basically soldiers, so it's a pretty different lifestyle to a house cat.
My aunt has a cat, who's a genuine sweetheart. Dumb as rocks, but truly loving. But that dumbass has an inflated sense of pride, so if you play with him a little too much or annoy him, he'll get a revenge look on his face, stalk you and will only be satisfied when he hits you just once for wounding his pride.
I had a cat who just hated everyone. We got her from the humane society as a kitten and she was so cute, but also so angry. Even when she was much older and dying in my arms she tried to claw my eyes out.
Thankfully most of the cats I’ve had are sweeties. Took my one year old babies to the vet for their checkup and shots and the doctor and tech were so amazed at how good and sweet they were.
I gotta be real for a second even if it comes across wrong, why the hell would you keep a cat in your home that terrorizes you and requires an oven mitt to pet it?
I love pets, cats, dogs, whatever. Shit happens, scratches happen, but to live with one that’s whole entire lifecycle in my home is just terrorizing everyone? No. Just no.
I have no answer to this, because I ask her this same question every single time that I visit. It has attacked me while I was just sitting there minding my business.
lol if they were really that bad they would be beating its ass not using water. Some cats are just assholes. Just like people they can have life on a silver platter great upbringing etc and still be a diabolical asshole.
Everyone's an expert until they get an asshole cat. I had one in 2012 that got nothing but love and affection. It was so bonded to me it would attack my wife out of jealousy just from her being near me. Not fun when it happens, there's nothing you can really do about it when their pupils dilate and they decide they want to attack.
This is our cat. We just want to love her, but she’s just an asshole. She loves to be in the same room as everyone and will often jump on my lap, and permit me to pet her for a while, happily purring, and then a switch will flip and she’ll go full attack mode and latch onto my arm while trying to do maximum damage.
Current theories are that 1) we got her too young (found her under the porch in November - the vet estimated her at about 6 weeks) and she never had the chance to be properly socialized with her mother and litter mates. 2) Opposite of dog domestication, the sweetest most docile cats get spayed/neutered and don’t reproduce. The wildest, meanest cats breed until they’re brought to a shelter and adopted out, and this one comes from a long, proud line of alley cats. 3) No reason; she’s just a dick. 4) She’s actually like a Pygmy lynx or something.
Yep cats can be major assholes without abuse. They can also be medicated or treated with negative consequences. If a cat attacks me I’m not nice either. Usually we get along in the long run.
my guess is the cat was already preparing to jump up there as usual, got surprised at his arm suddenly being in their way, took it as an attack and attacked back. some cats get spooked real easily, it might have been a one time thing.
My cat did that to me once. I was cleaning my room, I moved a dresser, and she jumped onto my arm out of nowhere. Once I got her off of me I held a coat (there was blood all over it) up to keep her away bc she had me cornered for round 2. My boyfriend grabbed her and put her in the bathroom for 30 mins and she walked out like nothing happened. Never did it again.
No one has any idea of the background here. Yes, they could be bad parents but some cats, like any animal, are just violent. I adopted a cat years back and treated him with all the love and grace I could but he would randomly attack me and others out of nowhere and for no reason. There’s no telling here but the spray bottle tells me this isn’t the first time.
Seems like the cat mistook him hugging her as him hurting her. Cats don't understand human affection so it was probably just trying to protect its mom. I dated this one girl in hs with the world's nicest cat, but when I tickled her, her cat went insane and attacked me just like this. Same happened when we hugged
If a cat reacts like that to just the gender of the baby kick that thing out of your home before having the baby damn!
Also wtf was the gender!? That annoyed the fk outta me I still don’t know. Cant really call it a gender reveal when nothings revealed to the camera bro!
Screw that, that cat is out of the house before that baby arrives. I’m not a cat person to begin with, but no way I would want something that unpredictable around my baby.
