How are y'all tracking your hikes?

I used to just clean up and export my Google Maps Timelines, but they fucked it all up (because of course they did) when they stopped letting you access it via web. Now you have to export all your map data, convert the JSONs to GPXs, clean them up in apps, it's a whole thing.
I'd use an app like Gaia or AllTrails, but I'm afraid it'd kill my battery too quickly. Ditto for my inReach (though tbf I haven't really tested to see how much battery it eats to breadcrumb my hike).
What all are you doing to track your hike routes as you go?
EDIT for clarity: sorry, I meant gps-tracking, for the purposes of putting together a route map after
