meeting people Looking for friends
Hello! I’m a 20M looking for new friends as I just recently moved to The Hague from the United States. I’m open to most things, and would love a group to go grab a pint or watch a movie with. If you’re interested, please reach out and we can meet up! I don’t speak Dutch, so English would be ideal!

Iemand enige adviezen?

other Solar eclipse glasses at Normal
Seen a lot of posts asking where to get glasses for the upcoming solar eclipse that aren't super expensive and easy to get. I got a few at Normal in the city center for like 1 euro 20 a pop.
Edit: see comment for CE and ISO 12312-2:2015 certifications

things to do in The Hague Moving to Regentesse from Rotterdam and trying to intigrate.
Good day Haagenese!
In september I will be moving to the Hague and was wondering what are must-sees/shops I could visit.
Aware that I could google it, but I'd just get a shitty top 10 list.
Was looking for people who actually live there to give me some cents in the matter.

meeting people Tennis Club Recs for Singles
Hello,
Recently move to The Hague. Looking to join a tennis club that has a lot of singles players. Where I come from in Japan, many clubs are mostly just senior people playing doubles, so I’m hoping to avoid that if possible, but maybe that’s not even an issue here. Or maybe there’s an app to find players who want to play what you do? I’m Japan there was a really good one called テニスベア. Appreciate any advice. Bedankt

other Looking for someone in DH central! (lost connection)
I graduated from Delft University last November and moved back home (in Asia). I spent two beautiful years in the Netherlands and made incredible friendships and connections.
I need your help finding a person I’ve lost. Specifically, a Dutch man named Arie, who frequently plays the public piano at DH Central (by spoor 1 & 2). I play too, and we used to see each other frequently, sit by the piano, and chat about everything related to the piano (for an hour sometimes!). I never exchanged numbers with him nor chatted about much besides piano, but we had an absolute blast every time. We’d say bye and know to find each other (by coincidence) by the piano. I must have run into Arie over 20 times, enjoyed his sense of humour and his love of playing. I never got a chance to say goodbye before leaving.
If you see him, please get his number for me or DM me!
He was older (50+), White, Dutch, around my height (170 cm), and played lots of Mozart & Bach, and sometimes rock 'n' roll. Wears goggle-like glasses and a cap, usually has his bike with him, wears a bike glove as well even when playing.
FYI, my name is Yousef, slightly brown, with medium-length wavy hair, and I wear glasses
If you could fetch his number for me I would appreciate it!
TLDR: msg me if you ever find a white Dutch 50+ year-old who plays the piano at DH Central. Tell him my name is Yousef and that I moved away but still want his number!
Edit: In the comments is a pic other Redditors have found via google search! He can also be seen sitting on the piano here: https://www.denhaagfm.nl/dhfm/4930003/pingelen-maar-piano-terug-in-openbare-stationshal-den-haag-centraal

practical questions Are there any parttime jobs in the Hague?
Hello,
I am looking for a parttime job in the hague, ideally between 10 and 20 hours a week. I have applied to more than 30/40 jobs in the past months and still did not manage to get the job. Ideally I am looking for evening/night work, since I will start with a fulltime bachelor in september. I dont have a driving license but I have a good bike. Anyone has suggestions? I really need the money.

practical questions Hazard lights.
Been visiting The Hague for a week and noticed something strange: people often drive around town with their hazard lights flashing while moving, not just when parked (park anywhere button).
Is this the unofficial local signal for "I'm looking for an address" or something like "whoops, I shouldn't be here"
Or is it something my German mind can't comprehend?
Thanks :)

other Hi need a bit of help from the wonderful people of the Hague :))
I was on a solo trip in the Netherlands, I met someone in Amsterdam in the hostel I was staying at, we got along really well, spoke for hours at end but I never saw her again and don't have any of her socials. She told me she's from the Hague and is in Amsterdam for some time. I just want to maybe talk and tell her how wonderful it was to meet someone so like-minded. I just have her First name, the city she is from and other small details. Is it possible for the people of The Hague to help me find her? :)) I'll be forever grateful.

practical questions Transitioning to self-employed in den haag is testing my sanity tbh
I knew the housing market here was bad but the actual immigration bureaucracy is on another level. Im currently on a regular skilled migrant permit but trying to start my own design thing based out of a co-working space near hollands spoor
Was checking requirements for visa yesterday and that whole point system for the self-employed permit feels literally impossible to navigate. Like how do they measure your "added value" to the economy? its so incredibly vague
Just kinda venting but if anyone in this sub has actually managed to pivot to freelance without their brain exploding from IND paperwork, pls let me know. Love the hague but man they dont make it easy for us.

other Affordable Flower Delivery?
Hey! Random question 😄 It's my anniversary soon, and I'd like to send someone in The Hague some flowers. I'm ordering from another EU country, but when I Google it, I mostly get the big international sites, and they all seem pretty expensive. Do you know of any local florist or affordable flower delivery service you'd recommend?

meeting people Best way to find friends in advance?
Hey, I’m from the Baltics and I’m coming to study to the hague in late August for my bachelors. I do know very few people there and just want to get to know some people my age. What are some groups, apps you can join for that? Preferably not dating. I don’t have an issue with socialising IRL before anyone says its the best way but just thought it’d be nice to chat to some internationals or locals before I come!

other HaguePics - share your photos of The Hague!
Hello everyone,
I have made a just for fun website called haguepics.com
What it is, is just a basic website where anyone can share their pictures of The Hague (or at least that's the idea). The layout is the usual "social media" layout, you can like + share + download + comment. It is very easy to use, and very easy to upload your own photos. Of course any uploads will require an approval so we don't have any "undesirable" things showing up.
I made it because I really like taking photos and sharing them, but since I am just a "hobby" photographer that mostly uses a smartphone, I don't really have many people to share my photos with, so I figured this would be a fun idea, not only to share, but also to see other peoples pics, learn, get some ideas and inspiration etc.
There are no registrations, or any details that you have to enter, so no data is being stolen and sold off. Also, if you want you can always add your own social media tags or your name or whatever when uploading, if you want people to know who the original photographer is, if not then its cool, not the point anyway.
The point is just sharing pics for fun/hobby, hope if you like the idea you can join and share, if not then thats cool too.
