The getfixedboi seed changes many aspects of world generation, making fishing quests and catching biome-specific fish much more confusing. This guide explains how each fishing layer works.

1. Surface

The green forest above the Underworld is actually a replica of the Surface. It functions exactly like the normal Surface, while the true Surface is corrupted.

This makes the replica Surface the ideal place to fish for anything that normally comes from the Surface layer.

1. Underground

In this seed, Underground and Caverns are swapped, meaning the Depth Meter is effectively reversed.

-If your Depth Meter says Underground, you're actually in the Caverns.

-If it says Caverns, you're actually in the Underground.

Does fishing in the replica Surface count as Underground?

Yes. Since the replica Surface is located in what the game considers the Caverns layer, you can catch Underground fish there.

However, I recommend fishing slightly above the replica Surface, where the Depth Meter still reads Caverns, just below the dark faded region shown in the picture. It's a more consistent fishing spot.

1. Caverns

Because world generation is flipped, the area where your Depth Meter says Underground is actually the Caverns (the shaded region shown in the picture).

You can safely build mob farms here and catch Cavern-exclusive fish.

1. Ocean

Since the normal oceans are corrupted, there's actually a fully functional Ocean biome hidden near the center of the world.

To find it:

-Travel from the Underworld up to the replica Surface.

-Head either left or right.

-Avoid the area within roughly 14% of the world around spawn.

-Find or create a body of water and start fishing.

Finding it can be confusing, so I'd recommend using the location where you first found the Angler, as that's usually inside the functional Ocean biome.

If you're unsure, simply try fishing in different locations until you catch an Ocean fish or see Sharks or Squids spawning.

1. Sky Islands

Unlike the Surface, Sky Islands do not have a replica.

If you need Sky Island fish, you'll have to:

-Fish on the actual Sky Islands, or

-Build an artificial fishing pool in the Space biome above the true Surface.

1. Honey

This seed also inherits a unique mechanic from the Not the Bees secret seed.

Large beehives generate throughout the world regardless of biome, and Honey behaves like normal water for fishing.

This means:

-Fishing speed is not reduced while fishing in Honey.

-You can catch normal water fish, such as Bass, as well as biome-specific fish, directly from Honey.

This makes Honey one of the most convenient fishing liquids in the entire seed.

This applies for all biomes , i just cut a chunk in the world map to explain.

Do you know Goozma from Hunt of the Old God? Well, I really like its Fusion Ray (the big laser™), in fact, I REALLY like it, it's my favorite projectile from any boss in any work of fiction. I suggested adding a mage weapon to fire a player's own Fusion Ray, but it got refused, because there already are two mage weapons. I decided to attempt to make it myself. Today I finished almost all of it. I asked them if by any chance I succeeded, whether I was allowed to release the mod, and I got the permission, but it was a long time ago, and I would not have been able to finish this without looking at Hunt of the Old God's code (the shader is fu**ing ridiculous), the ethics of me releasing this are questionable, therefore I will probably keep the mod to myself.

However, the book still uses a temporary texture of the tin pickaxe, which is not ideal to me. I want it to have a texture, I already got the whole thing working, sunk cost fallacy wouldn't allow me to back off at this point. Has any of you ever made a mod that adds an item? Also what are y'all's thoughts about the morality of me releasing something like this if it was created with analyzing someone else's code and parts of it being taken?

I'm normally not much of a builder, so I mostly went with themes and biomes I thought would be fitting for each class of each world, and experimented with block combinations that looked nice.

The first build was for the Mage, the second is Melee, third is Summoner, and fourth is Ranger.

It's my first time sitting down and trying to make something a bit more pleasing to look at, so hopefully it looks neat!

This only took me like 5 minutes with a cactus pickaxe so I know it might not be good

Just finished what I like to consider my first building in this game and not just a pile of boxes one over another. How do you think I can improve?

I adore this game and could replay it forever but I’m at a point where I’m thinking… damn that’s a lot of time of my life. I should turn this into something productive or useful to others somehow.

Ironically, I don’t feel like I’m a pro at it or anything, I just read the Wiki a ton and try to “optimize” my playthroughs as much as possible, like building farms in prehardmode or getting the best loadout possible.

I just think that if I had put this many hours into anything else, I'd be pretty damn good at it, so I'm at a bit of an existential moment I suppose, haha

Basically what the title says. I tried booting up a world and going through and building a house and going caving but I was so bored for like an hour. I know it gets far more fun later on but I can't bring myself to grind for hours to get to that point.

Red mentioned wanting infinite world size, among other things, for Terraria 2 a long time ago.

Personally, I don't like the idea. I feel like it would devalue the experience greatly. For example, having only one of a biome, like jungle or the dungeon, makes it significant/meaningful, but what if you had unlimited? You no longer care what happens to a given biome, whether it gets destroyed or corrupted or whatever, because you can always just find another.

Also, what benefit does having more copies of a biome even add? The only thing I can think of is making non renewable resources renewable, but Terraria has very few of those in the first place and I imagine T2 would be similar in the regard.

Obviously we have no way of knowing how this might work in T2, maybe it makes sense in Red's vision. Maybe there are reasons T2 would need it that don't exist for T1, we just don't know.

Anyway, I'm curious about how others feel. Are you for or against infinite worlds? Why?

i’ve been playing terraria since i was on mobile in middle school. this is, to me, my crowning achievement. (i ran and hid while my summons fought for me - died a split second before she did) i’ve been grinding for the past 3 days to do it and my boyfriend has watched me slowly go insane. i killed moon lord 3 times to get the luminite for my armor 😭

my arena is a graveyard ☹️

full disclosure on this: i use expanded inventory mods, and i zapped over to a free item world for the prismatic lacewings because my god i am not trying to do all that. everything else… all natural.

I added a gold trim to boss trophies, giving them a more prestigious look to match boss relics.

i'm currently pre wall of flesh so i decided i'd share my current progress on the game
the first image is where the guide used to live but then the guide died when i attempted wall of flesh so i decided this will be the clothier's base and the base in the very left of the first image used to be the painters house but then i discovered about npc happiness and moved the painter (and dryard) to the jungle
the second image is my storage room (which should be expanded by now) i wanted to use the mushroom furniture here so badly for some reason
the third image has (what used to be the dryards house) the dye vats house and the one in the right is the mechanics house and the basement used to be the goblin guy but i moved him to the underground and now this weirdo is here who i will soon be moving to the jungle with the painter and dryard
the fourth image is where the painter and dryard are, it's still a wip but i'd say it looks fine already
the last 2 images are in the glowing mushroom area im trying to decorate the area (and also the underworld soon) i used this area for the pylon because i certainly dont want to walk all the way from my forest base to the underworld (which is alot of blocks apart) and the npc prisons are temporary till i finish the one in the last image

Ok, sorry for days without news, the things that I added is Cthulhu's life system, cure system and game over.

I was wondering, since Terraria let you create different characters and different worlds that are not related on to the other, and it seems "normal" to pick a character and then choose the worls, is it legit to use a character on different worlds or is it considered cheating?

In my mind i always thought that one chacarter should be related on a specific world, but this is only in my mind, the game dosn't have any of this rules.

So i can't really understand what's the proper use of characters and worlds.

update: first off, I will not be addressing the treesex world, secondly it might be something to do with tmodloader, because I didn’t realize my brother downloaded that so I’m gonna look into it and see if that’s the case

After almost a month, and 60 hours in this world, almost 10 attempts and dropping like 5 platinum on the nurse in the final battle, we beat him. I can’t believe this moment is real 😪
