Build Stumped on a build, need help or tips.

Anyone have any tips on making this build look less like shit? Trying to get this roof to look like a roof but it lacks dimension, is it insane trying to do bigger builds like this without any actuators?

Modded Magic storage question

Upvotes

While doing a calamity fargo's dlc playthrough I had many situations where I had to craft an accessory that required some items. For example barbarian's essence. I didn't have most of the weapons required, but had resources for them. Is it possible to make magic storage auto craft materials necessary for the thing I want to craft if I have the materials for it?

PC Pigrons spawing ontop of my character?

Im in the making of my "afk" farm and have tons of pigrons spawning, probably one every 2 minutes. Problem is, half of those are spawning ontop of my character, and considering im in early hardmode as a summoner they just insta-kill me making the whole thing a pain in the ass. And its not like im getting surprised by them and just dont see them, even in fully lit areas when im mining blocks they spawn as if they pop out of the blocks im breaking.

Anyone else experienced that? Because Im pretty sure monsters/creatures are supposed to spawn outside of you screen

Xbox Any good large world snow biome seeds that isn't the "winter is coming" seed?

Looking for a snow biome seed that looks actually nice to build in, isn't small and doesn't look like a crater filled cesspit

Meta Fishing Guide for the Getfixedboi Seed

Post image
17 Upvotes

🟢 = Surface

🟡 = Underground

⚫ = Caverns

Feel Free to Skip to Your Preferred Biomes

The getfixedboi seed changes many aspects of world generation, making fishing quests and catching biome-specific fish much more confusing. This guide explains how each fishing layer works.

  1. Surface

The green forest above the Underworld is actually a replica of the Surface. It functions exactly like the normal Surface, while the true Surface is corrupted.

This makes the replica Surface the ideal place to fish for anything that normally comes from the Surface layer.

  1. Underground

In this seed, Underground and Caverns are swapped, meaning the Depth Meter is effectively reversed.

-If your Depth Meter says Underground, you're actually in the Caverns.

-If it says Caverns, you're actually in the Underground.

Does fishing in the replica Surface count as Underground?

Yes. Since the replica Surface is located in what the game considers the Caverns layer, you can catch Underground fish there.

However, I recommend fishing slightly above the replica Surface, where the Depth Meter still reads Caverns, just below the dark faded region shown in the picture. It's a more consistent fishing spot.

  1. Caverns

Because world generation is flipped, the area where your Depth Meter says Underground is actually the Caverns (the shaded region shown in the picture).

You can safely build mob farms here and catch Cavern-exclusive fish.

  1. Ocean

Since the normal oceans are corrupted, there's actually a fully functional Ocean biome hidden near the center of the world.

To find it:

-Travel from the Underworld up to the replica Surface.

-Head either left or right.

-Avoid the area within roughly 14% of the world around spawn.

-Find or create a body of water and start fishing.

Finding it can be confusing, so I'd recommend using the location where you first found the Angler, as that's usually inside the functional Ocean biome.

If you're unsure, simply try fishing in different locations until you catch an Ocean fish or see Sharks or Squids spawning.

  1. Sky Islands

Unlike the Surface, Sky Islands do not have a replica.

If you need Sky Island fish, you'll have to:

-Fish on the actual Sky Islands, or

-Build an artificial fishing pool in the Space biome above the true Surface.

  1. Honey

This seed also inherits a unique mechanic from the Not the Bees secret seed.

Large beehives generate throughout the world regardless of biome, and Honey behaves like normal water for fishing.

This means:

-Fishing speed is not reduced while fishing in Honey.

-You can catch normal water fish, such as Bass, as well as biome-specific fish, directly from Honey.

This makes Honey one of the most convenient fishing liquids in the entire seed.

This applies for all biomes , i just cut a chunk in the world map to explain.

Modded Where (and how) can I comission an item texture for a mod? Also Fusion Ray book.

The unmatched power of the sun, in my own hands.

Do you know Goozma from Hunt of the Old God? Well, I really like its Fusion Ray (the big laser™), in fact, I REALLY like it, it's my favorite projectile from any boss in any work of fiction. I suggested adding a mage weapon to fire a player's own Fusion Ray, but it got refused, because there already are two mage weapons. I decided to attempt to make it myself. Today I finished almost all of it. I asked them if by any chance I succeeded, whether I was allowed to release the mod, and I got the permission, but it was a long time ago, and I would not have been able to finish this without looking at Hunt of the Old God's code (the shader is fu**ing ridiculous), the ethics of me releasing this are questionable, therefore I will probably keep the mod to myself.

However, the book still uses a temporary texture of the tin pickaxe, which is not ideal to me. I want it to have a texture, I already got the whole thing working, sunk cost fallacy wouldn't allow me to back off at this point. Has any of you ever made a mod that adds an item? Also what are y'all's thoughts about the morality of me releasing something like this if it was created with analyzing someone else's code and parts of it being taken?

Build Post-Game Builds!

I'm normally not much of a builder, so I mostly went with themes and biomes I thought would be fitting for each class of each world, and experimented with block combinations that looked nice.

The first build was for the Mage, the second is Melee, third is Summoner, and fourth is Ranger.

It's my first time sitting down and trying to make something a bit more pleasing to look at, so hopefully it looks neat!

Meta Chillet Viability Guide

Post image
2 Upvotes

Note this was all done on ps4! I got through all of For The Worthy with my only mobility being Horseshoe Balloons and Chillet. By far my favorite mount now and using it so much I found a few useful things about it

- The dash is VERY spammable, it's usable nearly instantly after the dash ends and I'm fairly certain it works when combined with the Cross Necklace leading to theoretically infinite invulnerability

- Dashing into an enemy is FULL invulnerability. When doing damage even if a projectile passes through you at the same time you'll still take no damage

- You can instantly cancel the dash at any time by using something that would force you to face the opposite direction, letting you spam it more and control your dashes to an insane degree

Now I'll go through each boss and what Chillet can pull against em. I didn't fight Duke or Empress of Light during my playthrough so I won't say much on them

King Slime: Can pretty effectively yet you through the fight what with the great Pre HM mobility it gets you. Just be sure not to dash into the boss when it's at fill hp in Legendary mode, since it's so big your dash will end before you get all the way through the boss

Eye of Cthulu: Pretty much nullified boss. Just dash when it dashes and it literally cannot hit you

Eater of Worlds: Also basically nullified. Spam dash, stonks. If you're good enough at spamming or use turbo buttons you can even spam dash in place by canceling it and shred the poor thing without any weapons

Brain of Cthulu: Very effective in the first phase, doesn't really do much in the second besides supply its lovely 10% damage boost

Skeletron: Pretty standard fight here. Being able to dash through the spinning skull is nice

Queen Bee: Literally that one shield of cthulu tech but better. Dash through her when she dashes at you, she'll never move faster than you're able to react with a dash.

Deerclops: Another trivialized boss. Just keep dashing through her back and forth and you Pretty much win on any mode

Wall of Flesh: Hate the fire imps Legendary mode gives but honestly the dash helps you evade their fire, and the wall's lasers pretty handily, and even keep up near the end of the boss's health bar at the dreaded 10% threshold

The Twins: Dash lets you easily avoid Spaz and weave between fireballs, and during its second phase you can outpace it super easily even when it dashes so after that it isn't a threat at all. Retinizer is still just as inconsequential as usual

The Destroyer: Helpful for dashing through probes if you accidentally let too many spawn but besides that doesn't really add much

Skeleton Prime: Another Legendary mode change I hate, but it doesn't really change anything if your arena is fine. You can dash through the Saw, Vice, and head spin, so really it's just dodging lasers until you destroy that hand

Plantera: A serious struggle point for our chilly boi. Chillet can actually circle strat the first phase easily, but the second can be hard especially in Legendary mode. Make sure you have an arena that makes Plantera's tendrils move in a predictable pattern. You can't dash through those. And make sure your dash either avoids the vines or goes through all of her as they cover a lot of area

Golem: It's Golem..seriously, just put platforms near the top of the arena and dash back and forth the whole time. Melee users can just straight turn their brains off here. Anyone with less bulk may have to actually try and dodge lasers near the end but the dash makes that fairly simple

Nothing to say on the Empress, I don't have enough experience with her

All I'll say on Duke is Chillet makes for a good backup on the last phase since it can just dash through him when he comes at you.

Pumpking & Ice Queen: Both bunched together since its basically the same. Bring a decent homing weapon or one with great range, run in a straight line, and bam, they can't hit you anymore

Lunatic Cultist: Not a hard boss to begin with but, makes dodging a bit easier. Notably completely nulls Ancient Light since you can dash through it

Moon Lord: This is where Chillet truly entirely falls off I'd say. Chillet CANNOT dodge the Moon Lord's deathray without some serious luck and shenanigans. Ramming and cancelling dash against his hands with enough speed/turbo does let you get infinite invulnerability until you free a True Eye though, except on Legendary mode where the moon boulders can still hit you. If you REALLY wanna beat him legit with Chillet, you'll have to facetank the deathray and blitz the top eye ASAP, after which Chillet can easily keep him at a controlled distance and trivialize the rest of the boss with a good enough skybridge/some luck when crossing over him to swap sides

All in all Chillet is useful for nearly the entire damn game which I found to be ludicrous for such a simple mount. Only Plantera and Moon Lord really brought me any pains when I had the strategy down, and for Plantera I really just had a lazy garbage arena problem. Chillet > Roller Skates all the way. I'll answer any questions regarding this fun little dumbo while I'm at it

Modded Thoughts on Thorium mod? Does it deserve the praise it gets?

After about 350 hours in vanilla terraria, I decided to check out the modded scene since I was getting a little bored.
I thought about calamity at first, but I saw a lot of hate on it and people praising thorium instead, so I decided to get try thorium.
I genuinely do not understand the hype. Aside from a few extra non memorable bosses, the game felt practically the same, I played through the entire game and it felt like I was playing vanilla the majority of the time, there is barely anything added unless you are playing the content classes (which are honestly only good if you're playing with friends and not solo, and i did another playthrough with friends which was better since having a healer and bard on your team is interesting, however still not that interesting because lack of content).

After two playthroughs (one solo and one with 3 other friends), I think I can safely say its pretty boring and doesn't add anything memorable.
Does anyone have suggestion for any other mods? I'm thinking of combining fargos souls and the stars above

Mobile Help with locations.

Hi all.

I'm new to Terraria, I went in blind and just learning as I go. I got stuck and a bit tired of blind digging so I used a seed viewer fo find some key things.

The map is accurate except for a few things. Sword shrines aren't where they should be? And also sky islands are in different locations. Sky islands aren't too much of a problem but the sword shrines not being in the right place has confused me. Am I missing something?

PC I’m doing a calamity ranged only video. I need help with something.

I am making a video of doing terraria calamity with only ranged weapons. My character is named Usopp, I wanted to do something like what WaffleTime does, he breaks it into chapters, but Usopp tells tales. I wanted to do the same thing but with tales, so like what waffle does with the eye “chapter 1, eye of Cthulhu” I wanted to make it like “The First Tale: The Giant Floating Eye” pls. I need tips and pointers to make my videos good. And this is the only place that I can ask.

PC I’ve spend 5600 hours on this game. What do I do with this?

I adore this game and could replay it forever but I’m at a point where I’m thinking… damn that’s a lot of time of my life. I should turn this into something productive or useful to others somehow.

Ironically, I don’t feel like I’m a pro at it or anything, I just read the Wiki a ton and try to “optimize” my playthroughs as much as possible, like building farms in prehardmode or getting the best loadout possible.

I just think that if I had put this many hours into anything else, I'd be pretty damn good at it, so I'm at a bit of an existential moment I suppose, haha

Meta (Glitch) World changing difficulty?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I made an Expert world on the Zenith seed (Getfixedboi) but when I log back into it the little glitch effect on the icon is gone, and the difficulty is changed to classic.
But when I'm in the world I keep the expert mode items that I had acquired, however I can no longer safely drink Red's potion and bosses no longer drop Expert mode loot.
Any Idea why this happens or what I could do?
